Downloaded same song twice

I accidentally downloaded two of the same song. One was included in an album and one in a single. Can I get my money back for one?

Purchases are considered final but you can try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will refund or credit you : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • HT204053 my wife and i have seperate itunes accounts is there a way we can link our accounts to share songs so we dont have to pay for the same song twice?

I was going to see if there was a way when she purchased a song i could get it. I dont want to pay for the same song twice and only want to share songs. If i cant do this can i copy her library and paste it into my itunes??
Any help wouldl be greatly apprecieated we both have icloud set up but i cant figure out the best solution.

Welcome to the world of digital media. Your can't really transfer it. I don't know what the rules are about transferring to your spouse but I do know that in some cases when you die, your heirs cannot inherit your digital media. This is why there is still an advantage to buying the CD since the usage rights belong to whomever holds the physical media.
A possible workaround is to burn the songs to a music CD with yout account (tracks only without song titles) and then having your wife upload it as a regular music CD onto her account. It's been a while since i've done this so I'm not sure if it would work now.
Please note that I'm not advocating copyright and/or TOS violations. I'm only suggesting ways to copy music for your own personal use which has traditonally been permitted. I only did this because I wanted to convert iTunes songs to mp3 files so I could burn them onto a data CD for use in my car. It would make sense that since married couples are a joint entity, this would be personal use.
Also, I'm not a lawyer so don't take this as legal advice.

  • Why does my iPhone 4 play same song twice?

why does my iPhone 4 play same song twice?

I had the same issue in my 2012 Nissan Altima.  It was a function in my car's stero settings.  I had to go to the car's iPhone/iPod settings when the iPhone was plugged into the USB.  My settings come up automatically when I plug in and I can scroll through the commands to "Shuffle" songs.  Hope this helps.

    Hi, sarabette.
I would recommend reporting a problem with the purchase via the steps in the article below.  You can either do this via the email invoice received or by accessing your purchase history.

  • Hi i keep downloading the same song twice on different things, these collections and regular albums are confusing...i lost all my media and trying to get it back and now 2 of the same song is up...why cant support be a little helpful?

is Apple going bankrupt again, they seem to not wanna be bothered, is there a way to EMAIL, im not into calling and it says my calls have expired....why cant Apple be a little helpful, im a little upset with them and wanna throw my ipod touch across the room -  i dont want 2 of the same songs anymore, i dont wanna be charged twice these bands are making it very difficult to remember the last album i had this stuff on....i dont know my music anymore it keeps changing

Perhaps, if you stop ranting - and stop typing in capitals (which is regarded as shouting), then you may get somewhere. But since I'm so nice...
A good place to start for help is here, in these discussions and then proceed by explaining the probelm clearly.
Let's start by crossing out anything that isn't relevant:
is Apple going bankrupt again, they seem to not wanna be bothered, is there a way to EMAIL, im not into calling and it says my calls have expired....why cant Apple be a little helpful, im a little upset with them and wanna throw my ipod touch across the room - i dont want 2 of the same songs anymore, i dont wanna be charged twice these bands are making it very difficult to remember the last album i had this stuff on....i dont know my music anymore it keeps changing
So, are we to assume that a band you like, produce albums with songs on them that you already have, on other albums?
If so, that's down to the band, not Apple. The only answer to that is that you should check for yourself whether you already have a particular song and if you do, don't buy it again. However, you should also consider that buying the full album (with a song you don't want) may be cheaper than buying the individual songs that you do want.

  • Downloaded same song on ipod twice how do I remove one??

I copied the same song on my ipod two times and now I cant figure out how to remove one of them. Please help

To add them to your iPod are you using "Automatically update all songs and playlists" or "Manually manage songs and playlists"?
If it's in manual mode then all you'd have to do is choose the iPod in the source list (on the left, under library, podcasts, etc.) then on the right, find the duplicate and press the delete key on your keyboard.
    Good Luck

  • Purchase Same Song Twice

My daugther and I download iTunes music onto separate computers but from the same iTunes account. Before I installed iTunes 9, I could download onto my computer a song that she had purchased before for her computer, even though I had to pay for it a second time. This avoided my having to ask her for a copy. With iTunes 9, I do not get the option of downloading the same song again, even if I want to pay for it. The song reads "Purchased" and does not allow a download option. I called iTunes support and I was told to download the latest version of iTunes 9 (iTunes 9.2). I was told that this version had an option to purchase a song more than once (something version 9.1 did not have). However, it does appear to have this option.
Does anybody know how to get around this easily without having to share music or transfer by CD? Is there a way to download twice even if I have to pay?

Why not copy what you want from one computer to the other, either by temporarily turning on Home Sharing, or else by using a USB flash drive.

  • Downloaded same song 5 times

I tried to download a song, and it appeared not to work. I tried it 4 more times only to find I had purchased 5 of the same song! Is there anyway to get a refund on the 4 extra copies I don't need?

happened to me as well ... twice!
I received an error message, then tried again, later to find out I had multiple copies

  • ITunes DJ same songs twice in following

It has to be a known problem and there has to be a simple solution:
How can I prevent iTunes DJ from playing a second time the same song right after the first time?
There has to be a way to prevent the same Song being played twice a day!
    Please somebody tell me how.

really? it happens to me all the time. I was asking me, if that could still be accidentally. (500 Titels should not be a large list, but it isn't a short one)
Thank you for your hint. I thought about your idea, but it has 2 Problems:
    1. I have to generate a new list for every list I want to use with DJ.
    2. The Problem isn't solved completly, because the last-played-date is updated after the next song was picked and that could then be right the song which was played the moment before.
It's annoying me since I got the first Version of iTunes and please don't tell me, I'm the only one who has a Problem with that!

  • Downloading same app twice

Is it possible to d/l the same app twice? (and pay twice of course).
DH has discovered he loves angry birds but so do I, so I don't want him playing my game (lol) but when I tried to purchase again it says 'installed'.
Is there any way around this?
    Thanks
I have the 8gig iPod touch 4gen (if that make any difference at all)

I recently installed my 5.1 beta 3 on my iPhone 4 and it wiped out everything on my phone.  I didn't have any recent backups so I didn't back up my phone, I set it up as a "new iPhone".  Am I going to be charged again for the apps I download if I use the same iTunes/Apple ID?  Normally, it says something along the lines of 'this update is free because you previously downloaded this app..", but this time it did not.   I'm downloaded a $50 app, so this has me worried.

  • I keep having to download same songs from cloud.  Any suggestions?

So i have three devices on a Match account- Windows PC and 2 iPhones.  We recently downloaded all songs in our Match via wifi to one of the phones.  Some of the Match songs were downloaded to the other phone.  This weekend both phones had music one day and the next most of the music was gone.  I had to reset all the settings on Match and wifi on each phone- sign off and then sign back on- and only then did some of the songs and playlist restore from the cloud.  Eventually all songs came back but now on the phone where all was downloaded only a portion of the songs show they have been downloaded.  At least half show they now need to be downloaded from the Cloud again.  Any suggestions?

There is some Sony media management software often preinstalled on Vaio systems that causes a conflict with iTunes saving its library database file.

  • Why has complete my album downloaded a song twice?

I bought one song from an album in iTunes, then completed it a couple of days later. In iTunes it says I have only got the song once, but on my iPhone it appears twice, on the same album, with the same track number on the initial listing, but when it plays appears as track 8 and 9. It plays twice every time. I have tried unchecking it in iTunes but this doesn't work (I've been using the 'on my iPhone' list) I'm new to iPhone but not iTunes. At the moment I like the song but I know it's going to get annoying! Any ideas?
