Downloaded update 10.5.6 restarted to install it and it got stuck

I downloaded the lastupdate then restarted my machine for the update to install then it just got stuck and nothing happens, i have to force shutdown for my computer to work, and everytime y try to restart it for the update to work it does the same thing
any ideas?

I'm not sure it takes "routine troubleshooting" because my completely new macbook has exactly the same problem.
The Mac OS X 10.5.6 update has been out since December 15, 2008. That's more than six weeks and millions of people have downloaded and installed the update without any issues. This means the problem is not with the update itself, but something specific to your computer. To determine whether it's a file directory error, a permission problem, third party software or something else entirely will take some basic troubleshooting.

Checked out that link and everything seems to be in order on this machine at this time.
I only have CC installed on this one machine, not even my secondary machine like is permitted. it seems odd that I'm asked to re-accept the Licence Agreement as often as I am. If I had to guess, it's almost every week, if not multiple times some weeks, that all the software will decide I should have to view the licence agreement.
Edit: I've never had any noticeable "errors" activating or anything like that. I just get asked to do it quite frequently.
This activation screen isn't too annoying (it involves clicking one single button), but like I stated earlier, if I'm trying to launch the software by double-clicking on a PSD, AI, PPROJ, AEP, etc... that file will fail to open.
I feel like that's probably not really a bug, but it is frustrating, since I did launch the application with the intent to edit that specific file I tried to open.
Again, something that you guys may consider working on.
Another annoyance is that: agreeing to the licence agreement is a per-application task, so if I see that Licence Agreement dialogue window by opening Photoshop (for example), I know that every other piece of software I have in the suite (Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, Audition) will be showing me that screen on it's next launch. Probably deliberate for legal purposes that I can't just agree once for the whole suite, but heck, it would save me a lot of minor headaches if it was a unified agreement.

Try a hard reset: hold the power and home buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears.

You are in the wrong discussion forum, but ok:
-- You say it is running 8.1 now, but your profile says 6.1.3, plse update your profile.
-- Did you download in Mac iTunes? or directly in the iPhone?
if in Mac iTunes: check the following Finder location: Startupdisk->Homefolder (yourname)->Library->iTunes->iPadSoftwareUpdates : the downloaded file should be there and be complete the extension should be .ipsw, if it is not there or not complete you should download again.
if in the iPhone: notice that the install phase and verifying phase and restarting phase need (good) internet connection.

The Adobe auto updater is pretty decent in CS6. Just go to the Photoshop Help menu > Updates.
You will be able to update ACR, Photoshop and Bridge right there, if there are in fact updates available.

It downloads version 4.1 - but does not install it and always shows this as Firefox 4.0 - Yahoo edition. Moreover the tabs open when I close firefox do not open when I start next.

Then un-install that Yahoo branded version and install the official version.

Please test after taking each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes.
Step 1
Rebuild the Spotlight index. If you try to search now from the magnifying-glass icon in the top right corner of the display, there will be an indication that indexing is in progress.
Step 2
Unlock the Network preference pane, if necessary, by clicking the lock icon in the lower left corner and entering your password. Cllck Advanced, open the DNS tab, and change the server addresses to the following:
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
That's Google DNS. Click OK, then Apply.

I run 3.6.13, yet Help - Apply Downloaded Update wants me to restart for 'Update: Firefox 3.6.11'

I run version 3.6.13 via Help->About...
However in the help drop down, "Apply Downloaded Update" is active and selecting it wants me to update to 3.6.11

How can I remove this downloaded update? And/or make firefox not think it wants to apply an older update?
I run Win7, using a non-admin account. When I get firefox updates, normally I just close firefox then launch it as administrator so it can update. Not sure if that affects anything.
