Downloaded update iTunes, now program will not open!

Can someone tell me how to solve this problem.  I downloaded the newer version of iTunes to my PC today, now it will not open the application.  I have unistalled and tried redownloading a couple times now, it still will not work.  I am runnnig Windows 7 64 bit.  Thanks

Try following steps one at a time:
1. Restart computer, right mouse click iTunes icon and select "Run As Administrator"
2. If that does not work, check to see if this file APSDaemon.exe is the problem here.
Close your iTunes.
Press Ctrl-Alt-Del key and choose Task Manager. In the "Processes" Tab, select the file APSDaemon.exe and click End Prosses button, then close the task manager window.
Now open itunes and see if it is working?
If that works, to prevent having to do the same process everytime you restart Windows, go to. START button, type in
MSCONFIG
Hit ENTER
Click STARTUP Tab, Uncheck "Apple Push", click OK.
Restart Windows.
3. If that fails or you don't see ApsDaemon.exe in the Processes, refer to following article to remove SC files:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2363
4. If that fails, repair or reinstall your Quicktime. START / CONTROL PANEL / PROGRAMS N FEATURES / hightlight QUICKTIME and click REPAIR.

    what happened?

Do you get an error message when you try to launch iTunes? If so, what does it say? (precise text, please.)

  • I downloaded the latest version of itunes, now it will not open on my iMac

I just downloaded the latest version of itunes, restarted my iMac, and now itunes will not open.. it bounces once in the dock,

Go to your applications folder and start iTunes from there.  If that works you need to drag the application to the Dock.

  • My Iturns required an update, I hit update but now it will not open on my computer.  What's wrong?

When I hit update for my Itunes on my computer something happened because now my itunes will not open at all.  I even uninstalled and reinstalled and it still says it did not install correctly, try reinstalling to fix the problem.  Nothing is fixing it.  Any idea what's going on?

    Howdy Yek,
It sounds like you are unable to open iTunes after installing a recent update. I would recommend the troubleshooting in the following article:
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
    Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
    Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
    Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
    Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

SO FOR NOW I HAVE NO ITUNES ON MY COMPUTER TO SYNC WITH MY OTHER DEIVCES.  PLEASE HELP!!!

7.7 sounds more like a QuickTime version number than an iTunes version number.
If you update to the most recent version of the QuickTime Player, does that clear up the message?

  • After installing update itune 10.5 will not open or run on windows 7 pc keeps telling me error 7 126 and that AVFoundationCF.dll failed to load. reinstall.I have done the complete 6part unistall 10 times now and each time I get the same thing anyone have

So I installed the latest update of Itune on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit PC.( the previous versions worked fine never a problem)
It installs, and comes up with error7 126. Reinstall program again.
So I go through all six steps to unistall, and reinstall a frsh downloaded compy of 64 bit Itune from Apple Site. and reinstall again and again, went through this process 10 times still having same problem, including now also comes up with AVFoundationCF.dll missing, try to install that won't install.
So now I can not use anything apple, iteunes, safari, update etc, nothing will work, which means I can no lobger sync or update my Iphone 4S.
Does anyone have an answer for me????

I'm an applications developer and also run a part-time videography business. As such, I require more than 3.12GB of RAM. That is the physical limitation of a 32bit system. Pointless to stay on 32bit if you plan on having more than that much RAM.
I'm also not about to pay someone to fix my PC when I can do it myself. I was originally hoping for someone who had experienced the problem before to point me in the right direction so I didn't have to spend so much time trying to figure out what the issue was for myself.
Basically, in the end the problem was caused because right at the point in time when I chose to uninstall, and reinstall; Apple released a new version of iTunes. This version in turn had a requirement of iOS 4.2 to sync with the iPhone. This is a pretty embarrassing for Apple that they would release software reliant on other software before said software was released.
Had I realised I was downloading a newer version at the initial point of installation, this wouldn't have been an issue. I could've easily have rolled back iTunes to the previous version and gotten on with my life.
Another issue is that iTunes is not actually a 64 bit application. It masquerades as one to allow installation on the 64 bit platform.

  • I updated, and now Firefox will not open at all on my computer. Tried numerous times to turn computer off and then on again. Everything else is closed.

I updated as I was asked. The computer was on for a while and then turned off. Now, it won't open firefox at all. A big red 'x' and an error message pops up. Message says: The procedure entry point XRE_GetFileFromPath could not be located in the dynamic link library xul. dll.
I can open an old internet explorer, but then I can't respond to your e-mails for confirmation as they must go thru the mozilla browser. I AM CONTACTING YOU THROUGH MY HUSBANDS COMPUTER.... NOT MINE CUZ I CAN'T RESPOND TO YOUR LINKS....
This is very frustrating. I just want my old browser and bookmarks back! Please help.

When resetting the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod fails to resolve a problem, the problem is likely due to a a hardware problem. An appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is then in order.

  • We received a notice of a Firefox update ans now Firefox will not open any other sites

Last week our two computers received notices of a Firefox update.
When we restarted the computers and opened Firefox it would go to thewebpage. When we tried to open any address nothing would happen.
My wife downloaded a new Mozilla Firefox and her computer works fine. I am concerned what will happen to all of my bookmarks. I have more than a month's work bookmarked and it would be a disaster to loose all of these sights. Can I reload Firefox without loosing all of my bookmarks. Right now I am using AOL and that sucks big time.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox.

top fixes for a new iTunes install/upgrade are

i updated itunes to version 11.0 and now it will not open and says it is corrupted?
how do i get it to work it updated fine then asked to restart comp so i did now it will not open

Let's try a repair install of iTunes first.
Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "iTunes", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
Can you launch your iTunes now?
