Downloaded version of Adobe Acrobat 11.0 will not load

I just subscribed to Adobe Acrobat 11.0 and downloaded it onto my computer (Mac); however, I cannot open files with it. I also don't get the option of using it to open files; what to do?
Did I install it incorrectly?  Please help.

Does it start in the usual way (LaunchPad?) if not, what happens?

Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro will not load on  new Windows 7 Home Ultimate PC

When I double click on the AA9 icon to initiate installation, it whirls away for a while then asks if I want to allow "this program to make changes to his computer?"  I click Yes and it begins to process again for a few minutes.  Then it displays the following Invalid Unicode file error message...and simply stops processing or installing.  In that last process, it also reaches out for whatever reason and activates the magnifier tool in Windows.
I have thought that perhaps upgrading to a higher version of Windows might help, but who knows for sure?
P.S. – This is a brand new HP Pavilion dv6 series computer that is more than adequate to this task.
Thanks for your interest in helping!

  • Where is the Mac downloadable version of Adobe Acrobat 7 Pro that doesn't require activation

I purchased Adobe Creative Suite 2 Premium, it cost more than €2,000. When I recently tried to re-install it due to having to reformat my hard drive I could no longer activate it over the phone or online.
When I rang the help number it directed me to the downloadable versions that don't require activation. Great! UNTIL I realise Adobe Acrobat 7 Professional is only available for Windows as a download.
Where is the download for the Mac Version as it not included in the bundle either. This is extremely urgent. Thank you in advance.

    To maswatson
The answer to your question of March 12, 2015 – "Where is the Mac downloadable version of Adobe Acrobat 7 Pro that doesn't require activation[?]" – is … nowhere. That doesn't mean it's not available to you, however. I have successfully installed several CS2 programs and Acrobat 7, on two computers.
The hard drive on my MacBook Air crashed recently. After a new drive was installed I had to reload various programs, including CS2 Premium. I used the original disks and the serial number on the package.
When I tried to open InDesign, however, I got an "Activate Using the Internet" message which led to an "Activation Server Unavailable" message that gave me three options, the last of which was "Click the Phone Activation button to activate the product over the phone." I called the toll-fee number and heard the following recorded message: "We no longer support activation issues over the phone."
So I searched the Web, figuring that others had encountered and solved this problem. Eventually, I found "Creative Suite Help / Download Acrobat 7 and OS2 Products" at https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs2-product-downloads.html#.
I also found "How to Fix Adobe’s “Licensing for this product has stopped working” Error by Aaron Nelsen at http://hijinksinc.com/2010/01/20/how-to-fix-adobes-licensing-for-this-product-has-stopped- working-error/. He writes "… you MUST delete adobe_00080000_tsf.data and adobe_00080000_event.log" which is found in /Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher/FLEXnet. So I did that.
I also deleted Illustrator CS2, InDesign CS2, and Photoshop CS2 from my Applications folder. I did not delete Acrobat 7 or GoLive.
After clicking on "English" at https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs2-product-downloads.html#, I downloaded Illustrator CS2 for Mac, InDesign CS2 for Mac, and Photoshop CS2 for Mac. I was not able to download Acrobat 7 because the only option is for Windows. As you know, there is no download for Mac.
Illustrator CS2, InDesign CS2, and Photoshop CS2 all opened without any problems. When I tried to open GoLive, I got the same "Activate Using the Internet" message I got at the outset, when I tried to open InDesign. I proceeded, and now have a 30-day trial. The same limitation has been placed on Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop, because I downloaded them, whereas GoLive was installed from the CS2 disks.
Next, I opened Acrobat 7.0 Professional – the one installed from the original CS2 disks. It works fine.
BOTTOM LINE: If you want Acrobat 7.0 Professional, install Creative Suite using original CS2 disks, then delete the other CS2 programs from those disks. If you want Illustrator CS2, InDesign CS2, Photoshop CS2, and others, download them from https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs2-product-downloads.html#.
I am hoping this explanation will help you. I feel great sympathy for you because the "answers" you received have been obtuse and clearly less than helpful. (I requested a "Yes," "No," or "Don't know" answer to a very straightforward question, but didn't get it.)
My experience tells me that the answer to your question "Where is the Mac downloadable version of Adobe Acrobat 7 Pro that doesn't require activation[?]" – is … nowhere, but you don't need to download it. It's on the original disks and it does not require activation. That's why Adobe did not included it with the Windows version at https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs2-product-downloads.html#.
I hope this answers your question, solves your problem, and ends your frustration.

  • I have the Mac OS 10.9.4  I am unable to read PDF's, so thought I would download the latest version of Adobe Reader.  It will not install.  Is it comparable with my Mac OS?

I have the Mac OS 10.9.4  I am unable to read PDF's, so thought I would download the latest version of Adobe Reader.  It will not install.  Is it comparable with my Mac OS?

    More information would be good.
What do you mean by "unable to read PDF's". How are you trying to read them and what exactly happens when you try?
so thought I would download the latest version of Adobe Reader.  It will not install.
    Again, what exactly is happening?
And yes, the latest version should be compatible with your OS.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro will not open in Windows 8

Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro will not open in Windows 8. It worked until 2 days ago, now it won't do anything. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it with no luck.

32 or 64 bit system? Have you updated Acrobat? Was anything else installed between when it worked and did not? When you say AA 9 will not open, does that mean when you have selected it in the programs list (OK, that is the metro interface if you have not installed the desktop options -- 3rd party)?

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro X will not open PDFs

    Hello,
My Adobe Acrobat Pro X will not open PDFs.  This happens twice a month and is becoming extremely irritating.  I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, repairing and a system restore.  What can I do to make this problem go away?
    Thank you.

To check that it is an Acrobat problem, open Acrobat from the programs list and try to open a PDF from the file menu. I suspect this will work fine from what I read into your post. I suspect that somehow your OS is changing file associations. In that case, right click on a PDF and select Open With>Select Default Program and then select Acrobat. Be sure the check box for default program has been checked.

  • Adobe Audition 3.0 will not load recordings that are 8 hours long?

I have been taking day long recording sessions and wanting to review them from projects and notes. Someday these recordings can be over 8 hours in length and Audition will only load the first 2-3 hours of this.  Does anyone else have this issue?  How did you take care of this issue?  I am just looking for any information.  I have tried to record in both .WAV and .MP3 and it does the same thing.  I would really like to be able to find a way to make this work.   Thanks.

I am actually not using it to record it live.  I am trying to import files off of an Olympus voice recorder and then edit them into sections through Audition.   The complete file will not load up.  It will only show the first 3 hours of a recording and then not see the rest.  But if I open the file in Windows Media Player it will play all 6-8 hours of the recording.  Any ideas of why it will not open the complete file?
This is a slightly longer explanation of what ryclark wrote, and with probably the only solution that will work for you. I say probably, because I haven't ever needed to do this for myself. Others have reported that it works, and that's what I'm relying on here!
So, what format are you opening the file in in Windows Media Player? If you open the MP3 it won't have a problem, because the MP3 file is severely compressed. It's only when you expand it out and try to save (or open, even) it so that it looks like a wav file that you have the problems. Because of the wav file size limit, you can't have a single wav file at anything like a sensible sample rate that will last that long. This isn't an Audition limit, it's imposed by the maximum address size you can write to the file header.
The way around this is to import the file into Multitrack view, because this has the ability to split files and use the extra chunks in the broadcast wav specification to appear to open a much larger file. In reality it isn't though - it's just stitching together the several max length wav files that expanding the MP3 file out created. But you wouldn't be able to save this as a giant wav file, simply because of the addressing limitiations, which remain. What it should do though is let you extract sections from it, and open and subsequently save them in Edit view.

  • I have CS6 downloaded and paid for. However my Adobe Acrobat X Pro will NOT download! PLEASE HELP

I went through and did the download process and it only downloaded half of my Creative Suite 6. I REALLY need Acrobat X Pro for a project!!!

You need to install the Suite software thru the Suite itself.  If you only get a partial download of the Suite then try again.  Make sure you have cookies enabled and clear your cache.  If it continues to fail try using a different browser.
    CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/cs6-product-downloads.html
You can also download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.

  • Download of Adobe Acrobat XI Pro will not complete

I purchased Adobe Acrobat Pro XI and when I dowload it gets to a point where it says "Setup has detected that you already have a more functional product installed. Set up will terminate." But nothing is installed. Am I missing something?
    Help?

While the Standard version is not a more functional version, the message you are getting is one that you would get if you were trying to install Standard when Pro was installed.  I can only think that you need to uninstall Standard if you want to have Pro.

  • I have a Mac and I have downloaded the most recent Adobe Acrobat, but files will not open.  Any suggestions?

I have a Mac and downloaded the most recent Adobe Acrobat version, in order to open PDF's on a site I use.  They changed something recently and advised everyone to get up to date, which I did, but to no avail.  I keep getting a "waiting" message. I have used the Safari "develop" menu to simulate Internet Explorer, but with no luck.
    Any suggestions?

    Please wait...
