Downloadhelper won't work in Youtube & Firefox 19.02

I am on a Mac..up until a few days ago -before I upgraded my Firefox to 19.02 - Download Helper on Youtube was working fine.
Since the upgrade, nothing happens when I click on any of the drop-down menus. The tri-balls on the bottom right are grayed out but are in colour on the Youtube page.
Any advice would be appreciated!

hello, please update the extension to its latest version or if this doesn't solve the issue directly contact the extension developers through the means provided at their homepage - they can likely give you more detailed guidance and are the only ones who can fix bugs or make necessary adjustments in the addon for new firefox versions. thank you...

I blame Adobe; I blame Shockwave. In my view it's pro-IE,
pro-Microsoft. I Installed Firefox 2.0.0.1 and I have wrestled with

So whenever I open a link to my grocer (Loblaws), or certain links from my Outlook (formerly Hotmail) inbox (I've included a link from Match.com as an example), I get a grey tab.

Does it happen when you access those links from other places? Like this post. I have no problems seeing what's in there.
I would recommend to restart Firefox in Safe Mode to diagnose if there's any add-on that is causing this problem: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]]
If this doesn't solve the issue, please try to clean the cache and cookies of Match.com: [[How to clear the Firefox cache]]

Freedownloadmanager 5 still won't work(incompatable) in firefox 35

Also Yahoo homepage(freshy!!!!!!) is REALLY pi........... me off. I just installed freedownloadmanager 5 which SHOULD fix this prob;em BUT FDM is shown in extensions as incompatable with no options ie. remove etc. I don't want to remove it only try and reinst. I love FDM have used it forever and will stop using Firefox before I stop using FDM. How to proceed? Reinst fire4fox 35? go back to older Firefox? HELPPPPP ARGHHH

Iweb won't work with youtube

The youtube widget quit working for me. When I paste in the url from my youtube video, it always says the address is not valid. I haven't used the youtube widget in quite a while, but it used to work fine.

I had done all that sort of stuff. I ended up trashing iWeb completely and reinstalling it with my install discs and it now works.

Safari won't work on Macbook; Firefox works just fine

I am connected at home via my cable modem and AirPort Express. Wireless connection is OK. If I open Safari, it will just hang until I eventually get a message telling me that the server is not responding.But when I open Firefox, I can go anywhere on the web (like right here on the Apple discussions page). I've tried emptying the cache, resetting, trashing the history plist... Nothing works. I don't mind Firefox, but I prefer Safari. I have this problem only on my 13" white MacBook. Well, I tried that and it didn't work, unfortunately. Now, here's the kicker: When I am at home (connected via my AirPort Express and cable modem), I can only access the internet via Firefox. Pages will not load in Safari. But when I am at work (connected via an AirPort Extreme and my school's network), pages will ONLY load in Safari and NOT in Firefox. Can ANYONE explain this?

Firefox keeps freezing up and reading "not responding" in the top bar I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it but it won;t work I have Firefox 6 I guess and Windows 7 and Office HELP !!!!!!!!!! IT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY

Firefox doesn't come preloaded on new Mac's.
So you must have gotten this machine used and the person set up Firefox with a proxy amongst other "tweaks" that your not aware of, possibly even remote access to your machine.
If this is a used machine you bought, ideally it would be best to backup any files you have to a external drive, c boot off the installer disk the other person should have given you and use Disk Utility > Erase > Zero and format the drive HFS+ Journaled. Quit and install OS X and start with a fresh machine.
If you don't have the disk, a $29 Snow Leopard install disk is avaialble from Apple (no iLife programs, sold seperatly) which you can do the same as above.
If you don't want to do this, then delete Firefox and it's Library > Application Support > Firefox folder and reinstall it fresh from Mozilla.
Just reinstalling Firefox alone doesn't work, the support files need to be trashed as well.

since about july 26 download helper will not work in youtube when bring up a video to watch and download . Before about july 20 or so it worked . Now i remember
there was an upgrade or something that made it NOT work and now i see there is NO entry in control panel in winxp as far as installed programs which
SHOULD have been there so now I can't uninstall the original with those upgrades. Why do these jerks make an upgrade that is much worse than the prior

Still cant download youtubes even w/firefox and the addon that won't work with the current FF version

For all that FF is supposed to be for me it's junk. I've spent hours trying to solve the download problem with realplayer and youtube. Finally tried FF but one obstacle after another. The youtube downloader won't work with this latest version of FF. If I try to download other things I get the stupid pop up saying to download FF. Already have it dumb ass! Navigation on the forums is basically worthless.

Upgraded to firefox 6 and flash player won't work

I've finally upgraded to Firefox 6, after much much hesitation, and now certain sites built in Flash won't work. They work just great in Safari. The upgrade to the latest Flash player worked for Safari, but not Firefox. I've updated the Shockwave player.
No matter how many times I download and install the newest player and restart my browser, it still tells me I have to download and install the newest flash player and restart my browser.
Even Firefox 5 doesn't want to work with Flash...

I installed Firefox for Mobile on my HTC Droid Eris but it won't work. Why?

I have an HTC Droid Eris and it runs the Android 2.0 operating system. When I attempt to open it I receive a message that says: "This device does not meet the minimum system requirements for Firefox".
The website states: "Firefox 4 Beta is available for Android 2.0 or higher" so I do not understand why it won't work on my phone.

Firefox froze up. So I removed from computer and reloaded. If I close Firefox, can't restart by clicking on the icon. Have to end process in Task Manager. It then starts. Some links on some web pages won't work.

As I say in the question I don't know what happened but Firefox just stopped operating and then became erratic. So I removed the firefox programme from my computer and reloaded Firefox.
It now runs normally but I can't run Firefox on two tabs, only one, and if I close it down during a session I can't reopen it using the desk top icon. I go to task manager, processes, and end process for Firefox - then I can start it using the icon on the desktop.
I have also noticed that some links on a web page won't work - javascript is involved.

It sounds like you are getting in a hurry.
If you force Firefox to close in a hurry, then it won't normally start until you re-start the computer. There are ways around this, but I'm not going to go into them right now.
None-force way to close Firefox down: Close the program and wait. Do something else. Firefox appears as if it is closed, but it's not. Firefox cleans out cookies and it's cache after you close it. That takes a few minutes. You can't restart it while it's doing house cleaning.
After it is done, then you can restart Firefox normally. You can watch it in the Task Manager.
The same applies if you are installing javascript. You have to wait a few minutes.
As for running it with multiple tabs, I usually have 5 or 6, or more, tabs open at a time. Have no idea what the problem is there. Firefox needs special permission by use of a pop-up option to close with multiple tabs open.
