Downloading 3rd Party Sites

GoLive used to have a feature that would allow me to navigate to ANY URL and download all the site files as a starting point for a new site. Does Dreamweaver have any feature like this? Is there a better way of doing this on a Mac?

When you download other people's source code, you get the good with the bad.
To learn good coding habits, grab a Page Pack from Project Seven, or get their CSS Layout Magic extension for DW.  Their products are rock solid and tested to perform well in all browsers -- which might not be true for some 3rd party sites.

  • Is there a way to download Firefox 4 without going on a 3rd party site? Many of my addons do not work with Firefox 5 and 6.

    Quite a few of my addons don't work with firefox 6, and I would prefer to keep them, but my pc crashed and I had to reformat. I don't want to have to go on a 3rd party site, since they could easily put a virus on my pc. I couldn't find anywhere to download it on the site.

  • Is there a way to block add-ons from being installed in Firefox, even add-ons coming from 3rd party sites?

    I work in a small call center and I have been working on trying to convince IT and management to use Firefox on the computers on the call floor. The main issue I have been having in convincing them, is that you can't block add-ons and things like that as easily as in IE. I thought I had it with blocking addons.mozilla.org, which wouldn't allow access to Mozilla's add-on site. However, with that, techs would still be able to go to 3rd party sites, generally the creators of the add-ons, and download them there. Anybody have any ideas on how to stop this?

    I've downloaded an application from a site I use often, so I trust it, but I cannot open the app because I apparently denied the use of 3rd party apps when I set up Lion. Cannot find that set up now to change it. Can you help?

  • ITunes no longer plays 3rd-party site music samples (eMusic, etc)

    After downloading the latest iTunes upgrade, it no longer plays music samples from sites like eMusic or any independent vendors. Never had a problem before. I would click on a sample icon and the clip would play automatically in iTunes. It's still set as my default internet player, but sound clips are saved to my desktop instead of opening in iTunes now. Any ideas?

    There has to be a solution. Isn't anyone else having this problem? I would think it's a big one, because there has to be others like me who only download music from eMusic or third-party sites, never iTunes which is way over-priced. If this problem isn't fixed, adios iTunes.

    Hello all, I'm a newbie to SCCM2012 R2. When I attempt to do a software download for Mozilla, Java etc... i'm getting this error below. I can download MS updates fine, but 3rd party updates. We are using Secunia to publish 3rd part updates to WSUS,
    which works fine. Then I sync SCCM with WSUS and SCCM finds the published 3rd party software, but I can't download it. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

  • If you download 3rd party app for sms

    If you download a 3rd party app for sms messaging, is there a way to turn off sms logging thru the blackberry settings.  I have downloaded an app called Crunch SMS and it's a great app,  but i get notified in 2 different locations now on sms msgs.  Once, in the Crunch SMS location and once in the typical blackberry sms location.

    No, I don't think any of the 3rd party sms apps can prevent the sms message from showing in both places.

  • Not receiving emails and downloading 3rd party apps

    Hi everyone,
    I am the new kid on the block with blackberry. I have a blackberry 8300 smartphone but I am have the following issues using it:
    1. I can send out email from the blackberry email I set up on my blackberry through my network provider, I can not receive any email to the account.
    2. I am unable to add my Lycos.com email address to the blackberry,
    3. I am unable to download any 3rd party app on my blackberry, I get a message that the IT policy on my phone does not permit me to download third party app.
    I have spoken to my network operator several times about this issue but no joy. Any idea on how I can resolve this, will be appreciated.

  • Downloading 3rd party software

    I just bought an iMac.  I have a TomTom GPS system and went to download the TomTom Home software to updates the maps and I'm not able to do this.  Does anyone know a way around this?

    Looking at the system requirements, it is evident that they have not updated their software in years; it still shows 10.4 or higher and a Power PC (G3). I would guess that the software is possibly Power PC - if that is the case, it will not install on an Intel Mac running Lion or Mountain Lion.

    yes you need an Apple ID (basically an iTunes account, yes) to download apps

    Muse seems to create only a flat site (all pages are created directly in the root folder only), and the Plan structure in Muse does NOT carry through to the file structure of the site when published with "Upload to FTP host" .   I am concerned that the Plan layout is only concerned with menu auto-fill functionality, and does not reflect any physical structure.   
    Any solutions?  Am I doing something wrong, or is this a limitation of Muse?

  • Scanning Slides for Printing by 3rd Party: Maximum Print Size Wanted

    I am wanting to license a series of vintage slides via my Zazzle.com store. The images scanned from the slides would be printed on the various products that they sell. Ideally I am looking to obtain the maximum resulting image size in the hopes of offering some of the designs on smaller sized posters. Some of the images were taken with everyday cameras while others were taken with expensive cameras such as a Zeiss Contarex so am guessing the film grain quality is going to vary although all are mounted in standard slide frames.
    I wanting to scan slides, or have slides scanned, into a lossless format such as tiff for archiving purposes, which would then be copied and opened inside photoshop and illustrator. I also have negatives from box cameras and similar older materials, but want to tackle the slides first.
    From reading the posts here the two main strategies appear to be:
    1. Do it yourself:
    I've read various posts that say this may take a specialized scanner costing $2,000, while others claim a Epson V500 does just as good of job - of course I wondering if the person using the Epson is wanting to print commercial products from the designs.
    What machines are recommended for use with Lion?
    Also there appears to be a debate about the best software, such as Digital Ice or VueScan? Any suggestions?
    2. Hire a 3rd party service:
    One main concern here is the items could get lost.
    The other major concern is how good are the resulting slides going to be. I've looked at various 3rd party sites that offer scanning and each appears to offer a differing opinion as to what dpi should be used. I understand that at a certain point a higher dpi setting is not going to obtain any further helpful information from the slide, but what exactly is the maximum setting that I should be shooting for? I see services offering 4,000 dpi, yet some of the dedicated slide scanners can go much higher so I am wondering if these services are just wanting to use the lower dpi to save on the resulting image size as opposed to obtaining the maximum print size?

    CMCSK, For some reason, against my expectations, iWorks or Pages was nowhere to be found. I "spotlighted" them after failing to find them in the applications folder. I did not think to look for Microsoft Word Trial Version on the Mac. I doubted it would be there because Apple has Pages and Numbers. I'll check later, but I guess I also want to know how to do it without trial software.

    RothRock, After clicking the arrow, I get many options, including scaling, but I can't find any positioning option (other than just the Centre option).
    Does anybody know how to scale and position? I'm going to try iPhoto some more. Something as simple as positioning for printing shouldn't be this hard to find.

    Never download anything from CNET. The site is untrustworthy and is known to distribute Windows spyware intentionally.
