Five times I tried to download that very large file. After about four hours waiting without any error-message, the resulting file wasn't complete.

Can't download 9i personal edition

I can't download the disk1.
but disk2&3 are ok

Same with me. I tried Personal edition, Developer edition version 8, 8i, 9i.
My line is T1 and I was able to download at the speed of 4mb/sec. I couldn't open any of zip files.
Worked fine with the smaller files though (Drivers, patches, etc).
I am behind firewall.
Could it be a problem?

I cannot download Oracle Personal Edition

I am having problems with downloading the Perosnal edition, Once I click the download button, IE says page not found, Netscape says Cannot find the file. Is there anyother alternative to download this other than buying it ofr 39.99.
Is there any problem with my Browser settings.

Downloads - Oracle Personal edition 8i98

I cannot resume the download of this free software after logging off. When I try to resume the download using a acceleerator, I am denied access citing 530. this download is 820 MB - so no way to do it in one shot. any suggestions I would appreciate it thanks.

Go to www.oracle.com -> Oracle Store -> Databases -> CD Packs -> Pick the 8i pack for NT. It includes Personal Oracle 8i for Windows 98 and Windows NT. I think it also will work with Windows 95. At 39.95 for about 14 CDs, including Designer 6.0 and Developer 6.0, it's a good deal.

Today I want to run the programm and my computer says: "This Acction is only valid for installed productions." (translated from german). I tried to download it again (it works) but then asked for the file iTunes.exe. I check the link to the file but he doesn' take. Uninstalling is also not possible!

Oracle Personal Edition for Windows 98 onto a Windows ME machine

After downloading Oracle Personal Edition for Windows 98 onto a Windows ME machine I had to alter the win.ini file to get a valid stage. After instatlation when I go to start database I get a warning cannot open registry
\SID_LIST and then a "cannot attach to oracle 8i" error maessage. Anyone got any ideas- my oracle home is the C:\ drive

Personal Edition's Password

I download the Personal Edition, but when I start the database, it ask me a password. What's the password?

Yes, I can connect just fine via SQL*Plus. I also can connect fine in the Connections tab of JDev, and going through the TopLink steps of the tutorial to load up the schema in the data model works fine with the 11gDB. I don't have any problem until I try and run run SRList.jspx, that's when I start getting password errors if connected to the 11g, but it's fine if I flip the connection to a temp 10g DB.
Is there any documentation that points out how to configure a new JDBC into Jdev for 11g DB connectivity? I've found the JDBC driver in OTN, but not much on configuring JDev to use them.

Oracle 8.i personal edition start-up problem

Hi, I just download oracle8i personal edition from this site and install on my pc(window98). However when I tried to SQL*plus, it prompted my for username, password and host string. I used username/password for this site, but what should I put for host string? I am using ehternet from school, so my pc has no IP address. Another thing maybe worth to mention, during my install the program , it failed to install ORACLE CONFIGRATION ASSISTANT TOOL, it seems try to initialize a db from CD which I don't have.if anybody has gone thru this personal editon installment process, please share your experience. thanks.

The OS user I'm log is ORACLE that own the filesystem, Before you ask ORACLE is part of OINSTALL and DBA group

Can't open 9i personal edition zip (all 3 zip)

i have tried downloading 9i personal edition for twice and i just can't seems to open all three zip. Took so much effort to download and in the end can't open. need it urgently for coming exam. can anyone help?? everytime i tried to open the file error message appear. "does not appear to be a valid archive, try downloading again." i did but still cant open. HELP!! im currently using windows XP.

Oracle 9i Personal Edition Download Problem

Hi there,
I'm currently attempting to download Oracle 9i Personal Edition, however upon clicking on the file link, I'm being constantly presented with the login page (even after having logged in). I checked my browser (MSIE 6) and cookies are enabled. Trying the same procedure for other files yielded the same unsuccessful results. Can anyone help please (my username is [email protected]). Download it again. I had the same problem the first time. It happens when there is a problem in your internet connection. The second time I downloaded it, it worked fine.

I downloaded the following product from your site today, Aug.17, 2002:
Oracle9i Personal Edition
Release 1 (9.0.1.1.0) for Windows 98
Part Number A95905-01
After the installation, there was a message that said that installation was completed already,
and that I had to reboot the PC. And so I did.
Please take note that my database will be a "standalone" one.
I tried connecting as scott/tiger and I also tried connecting as scott/TIGER,
and I just left the field "Host String" blank, not knowing what to put in.
Normally, I was expecting a readme.txt that will provide that useful info, but I couldn't find one
that would tell me.
Also, after I press the OK button in the ORACLE SQL*Plus Log on window,
it prompts me for an Oracle9i startup password.

If you are at the screen where it's asking for the sys and system password with confirmation, you need to enter the passwords.

Cannot download Oracle 9i personal edition

I am studying for Oracle DBA certification and was told that I could download a free version of Oracle 9i personal edition. After entering my userid and password, nothing happens. I have my Internet Options settings configured to accept cookies. What else can I try? Can I get a copy of this version on CD? What is the price?
This is for educational use only.
