Downloading 9i db for Solaris

Trying to download 9i db for Solaris, I get an error whenever I try to select one of the files.
Server: http://download-uk.oracle.com/otn/solaris/oracle9i64/Solaris64_9011_Disk1.cpio.gz
File: Any of the 9i for 64 bit Solaris files
Date: 22/4/2002
Time: From 10am (BST) to 15:00 (BST)
Browser: MS IE 6
OS: MS NT 4 SP6
Error: 10053 - Software caused connection to abort

I had/have the same problem. If you run the install in the custom mode, you should be able to install the database configuration assistant. The problem of the message box asking for a password still exists for me however.
Does anyone else know the fix/password for the message box?
thanks

  • OEM 12c for solaris (sparc) disk2 download failed

I am trying to download OEM 12c for solaris (sparc) from below link but disk 2 download failed after 80% with a error saying connection to server closed. I tried it couple of times with different browsers even from different machine but still same error. Disk 1 downloaded successfully but disk2 always failed right at 80% after 2.4 GB downloaded. It makes me belive that it is a problem related to source file or server. Anyone has similar experience and know how to get it solved?
    Appriciate for your help.

I can't download it either, and nor can any of my colleagues, using any browser. I am in UK, I suspect there's an issue with the Oracle mirrors, and that if you are downloading from US it probably works fine. Can someone from Oracle investigate this please?
We consistently get the same result: the downloaded file is: 2,732,571,489 bytes, rather than 3,430,333,041 bytes. It will not unzip as it is not a valid archive, error message:
    bash-3.2# unzip em12_solaris_sparc64_disk2of2.zip
    Archive: em12_solaris_sparc64_disk2of2.zip
End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not
a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the
latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on
the last disk(s) of this archive.
unzip: cannot find zipfile directory in one of em12_solaris_sparc64_disk2of2.zip or
em12_solaris_sparc64_disk2of2.zip.zip, and cannot find em12_solaris_sparc64_disk2of2.zip.ZIP, period.
However, this error message is caused by an invalid / incomplete zip file.
I have also tried Oracle Edelivery site with same result.
    TIA!

  • Need an download accelerator for Solaris 8 (Sparc)

Is there any download accelerator available for Solaris 8 for Sparc architecture.
    Thanks,

The download is available, but it isn't easy to find.
The "Sun Download Center Changes" page also refers to you to the Sun Archive (My Oracle Support Doc 1302856.1). Follow that link and you see a list of products you can download, including Sun Studio 11 (unaccountably listed under Servers and Storage Systems). That link takes you here
    https://updates.oracle.com/download/12685437.html
where you can download Sun Studio 11. The one download contains the releases for each platform.

  • Reports 6I and Oracle 8i(8.1.6.0) for solaris

I have downloaded Reports 6i for solaris.
When I install it a ( Curses ) based GUI.
Comes on . After installing it. Oracle
stops working ? whats wrong ? it installs
its own NET8 driver which I believe is
    causing the problem.

The Net8 Configuration Assistant allows you to add databases into a file called tnsnames.ora. Do not manually edit this file or you will not be able to une Net8 Configuration Assistant unless you delete tnsnames.ora.
it asks me if i want to use a directory service?? please advise me what this is for and should i use it
    saying no is ok.
if i say no it then asks me to pick 81, or 8 i picked 8i
8i is the correct answer here
then it asks me to enter the service name?? i dont have a clue what it means
the service name (also know as SID in 8.0) is the name of your database.
then select protocol for database you want to access?? again i have no idea
The common protocol for Oracle is TCP/IP
    then a host name??
the host name (is the name of your computer or another computer you want to connect to with an Oracle database running on it).
    1. To find the name of your computer, click START>SETTINGS>CONTROL PANEL
    2. Open the Network Icon
    3. Select the Identification tab
    4. The name of your computer is listed
    Good Luck,

  • Proxy client for Solaris 8???

    Hello all,
I am new to the list, so this may well have been asked before and I just can't find a reference to it...
I am trying to set up a few Intel Solaris boxes for developmental purposes on a corporate network where we are constrained to using Microsoft Proxy Server by our corporate headquarters. Is there any creature that will function in place of (or as a replacement for) the Microsoft Proxy client that must be installed on Winx machines available for Intel Solaris 8? OR, is there a way around utilizing any sort of Proxy client and still be able to reach outside of our network?
I've posted a question similar to thin on an MS discussion board as well.
    Thanks in advance,
    Randy

Client is only considered to be a separate product on Windows platforms. Client is a not a seperate cd with unix platforms. It is bundled with the server edition.
You will need to download the server for Solaris. Once you begin your installation you will be able to select the Oracle client on the Available Products screen. I hope this helps.

I believe this is the plan. However, there is a bunch of work yet to do before
this can be qualified and supported. Stay tuned.

  • Can't download Oracle 8.1.7 Enterprise Edition for Solaris 32 bit??

I can't download Oracle 8.1.7 Enterprise Edition for Solaris 32 bit. After filling out the form with the questions...I click on the actual link, but the box never pops up. The status bar on my Internet Explorer slowly increases, but never allows me to download. It just hangs. I have tried multiple times, and I can download other verions from your site...and have many times in the past. Could you please fix this. Thanks.

I've looked at it and it seems fine. It might have been a temporary glitch - let us know if you continue to have trouble.

  • Oracle 9i for Solaris download

For the past few days I have been trying to download Oracle 9i database for Solaris. I am having two problems
    1.) When I go to http://otn.oracle.com/software/content.html and select "9i Database", all I see is "<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="javascri".
2.) I am able to get to the Oracle 9i download page by connecting to http://otn.oracle.com/software/products/ (instead of http://otn.oracle.com/software/products/oracle9i/software_index.htm ) but once I get to the 9i for Solaris download page the links act like they have invalid URL's.
So that we may better diagnose DOWNLOAD problems, please provide the following information.

Can anybody let me know link to download oracle 9i software for solaris OSThe normal places to check for downloads are at http://download.oracle.com and http://edelivery.oracle.com
If the software you look for is not at either of those places it is probably because they are outsiide 'normal' support status. In that case you need to contact either Oracle Support (if you have a valid CSI) or Oracle Sales (to get a CSI number) to get the software.

  • Where can I download JRockit 6.0 (R27.6.0-50) JDK (64-bit) (for solaris)

    Where can I download JRockit 6.0 (R27.6.0-50) JDK (64-bit) (for solaris) ?
This page indicates 27.6.5 - but that's not what all the products are certified with.

Thanks Henrik. My question is for the same customer that Alex K. was asking about.
The customer has pointed out that 6.5 != 6.0 , so according to the wording in the documentation, the "all later releases of 6.0" would not apply to 6.5 releases. So the customer would need a precise statement from JRockit product management stating that 6.5 releases are indeed to be included wherever there is a reference to "all later releases of 6.0".
I did spend some time yesterday in MetaLink. Search Knowledge base -> Oracle JRockit for download gives 38 hits. I did find older versions of WebLogic Server in 763603.1, but nothing for JRockit. If there is another DocId with the JRockit downloads, what is it? Will I find JRockit 64 bit for Solaris 27.6.0 bundled in the WebLogic Server downloads? Guessing from the size of the downloads for Solaris 64bit (they are hundreds of MB smaller than other downloads) - it seems possible that the JVM is not included (I do not have a Solaris machine to install and check). Previously I had assumed the JVM was included, but then the customer wouldn't be asking where they can download from (unless they never bother to look what they installed).
