Downloading 9iDB and 9i Developer Suite....Need Advice Please.
Hi "The Helping folks",
Currently I have Oracle 8iDB and 6i Developer Suite installed on my PC. I want to upgrade it to 9i both DB and Dev. Suite. Since I am novice to 9i version, is there anyone who can guide me of the ups and downs in this case by answering the following questions or if more issues, which I don't have any clue of:
1. Should I download 9i Database or 9i Application Server....I am not sure about which one.
2. How much time does it take normally on AOL internet servers to download 9iDB and 9i DEV?
3. Do they call it 9i JDeveloper as we call it 6i Developer in lower version or it has some different name?
4. Are there any complicated issues or special instructions to be kept in mind while upgrading from 8iDB to
9iDB and 6i Dev. to 9i Dev.?
If there are any special notes or guidelines other these, also please mentioned them. I'll be much much thankful for your help in this regard.

- The 9i database contains the client & server database components. 9iAS is the 9i application server. You probably want the former, not the latter.
- The 9i database download is somewhere in the neighborhood of 1 Gb. Unless you have broadband, you're probably much better off going to store.oracle.com and plunking down $40 for the CDs.
- JDeveloper 9i is the followup product to JDeveloper 6.

From the information that you have provided, it sounds like your Apple ID has been disabled. You can read this to see how you can troubleshoot that issue.

You can try signing out of your ID on the iPad and sign in with his ID and see if that works.
Settings>iTunes and App Stores>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Then sign in with your husband's newly created ID. -
I can't update my iPad to iOS7 . It keeps saying My updates are complete at iOS5 .1 . HELP!! I want to download iBooks and other apps that need the newer iOS7 .
The original iPad can't be updated past 5.1.1; you may be able to get compatible application versions by downloading them to a computer and then going to the Purchased screen on the device.

I'm unable to download the German dictionary. I tried to do it with a 3g connection, but I failed because of that. A message said that I had to have a wi-fi connection to contine the download. Now I have a wi-fi connection, but I still can't download it. Could you give me advice please?
I did activate the German keyboard, and I entered in the application "notes",in which I typed a german word with the german keyboard... But I can't get "define". It only appears to me when I select a word from an ebook, but when I ask for the definition of a German word there, it simply says "no definition found", as if the German dictionary didn't exist. I know that it exists... When I tried for the first time to get a definition for a German word, it appeared a writing which asked me if I wanted to download the German dictionary. I selected "yes", but I was connected to a 3g connection at the moment, so the ipad didn't download the dictionary, but another writing told me that the download would have continued when I was connected to a wi-fi. It didn't. And now I don't know how to continue the download. I've installed the French dictionary and the English one, but for the German one that's what happened. Maybe the ipads work differently in each country?

Oracle 9i and 9i Developer Suite don't work together
I've tried to install 9i and 9iDS in different homes. Then, I can work with SQL*Plus (of 9i) but all 9i DS's applications don't work at all. The main problem is that I can not connect to the Database of 9i.
Is there any body know the solution? Pls help, this is the first time I use developer suite to study Form and Report.this tnsping was a great start. it allows the user to find another place to look for errors ora files.
I was looking in every instance of my TNSnames.ora files. the one in the 9i as well as the 10g were alike and fine. I had to comment out some bad lines from the 10g ora file. the tnsping found the SQLnet.ora file that contained an error. in this case the error was the same line needed to be commented out.
it is not that I forgot to do so but I didnt know that this line was even in any of the files.
this tnsping works as a great trouble shooter.

Problem with treo 650 Palm OS Garnet 5.4.8 and Garnet development suit

I like to develop application for Treo 650 having version Palm OS Garnet 5.4.8. But my installed Garnet OS Development Suit has default inbuilt sdk.
I have downloaded and installed latest sdk 5.6 for Garnet development from www.accessdevnet.com but how to integrate it with the suit ???
The built-in sdk is sdk-5r4 which uses TelephonyMgr.h for telephony but my treo 650 withdrawn supporting TelephonyMgr and uses other new library as I found in the PalmDeveloperGuide_PalmOs.pdf ....
"Treo smartphones have their own Phone library. The telephony header files
TelephonyMgr.h, TelephonyMgrTypes.h, and TelephonyMgrUI.h are not
supported in Treo smartphones."
And the inbuit sdk has TelephonyMgr instead of new telephony library. I have downloded and installed Palm SDK 5.6 found in accessdevenet.com but do not know how to integrate with Garnet development suit.
I can not start developing without the matching sdk.
Please anybody help.....

Download Problem for Oracle9i Developer Suite Release 2
Hi,
I have been trying to download Oracle9i Developer Suite Release 2 from http://otn.oracle.com/software/products/ids/htdocs/winsoft.html
There are two zip files
1. A99230-01.zip (606,797,721 bytes)
2. A99231-01.zip (207,292,517 bytes)
I was able to download (2) completely and is able to extract files from the Zip format. But after trying 4-5 times downloading the (1) still I am unsuccessful.
After the files download reaches somewhere around 250,000,000 bytes it says the download is complete but when I try to open the Zip files, it says the Zip is invalid. Is there any problem with the Zip that is uploaded to this site. How can I solve this problem.
Is it possible for me to get the Free S/w on CDs like we used to get for forms 6i through OTN site? If so where should I register for the same?

Anil KrishnanIt seems that it is only possible to start download of two files at a time. If you try to start more, the system hangs up. If you are trying to download the version that is split in ten files, you have to do this one file at a time. If you are trying to download a single file, make sure that this is the ONLY download session that is running on your computer.

I downloaded the iOs 7, after went to sync it with my computer but it said I needed to update my iTunes, so I went to download the 11.1 and it said I needed a newer version? 10.6 (or something like that)
And so now I can't sync my phone...
Any suggestions? Besides throwing my computer out!! haha

I'm 67 yrs old and asking for advice please.
I'm unable now to play the music in my iTunes playlists. 90% of the tunes have exclamation marks now and I can't 'locate' the music. How can I locate the music or remove the exclamation marks on my iTunes music list?Typical reasons for missing files are, you've deleted the files, they are on a disconnected external drive, or the drive has a changed drive letter, you've moved the folder where the files live in some other fashion, a third party app has rearranged the files, or iTunes has got confused about the layout they are supposed to be in.
Generally you need to work out what has happened, reverse the action and everything will be alright again. If it is something you can't/don't want to undo, e.g. a drive letter change, then as long as you can track down the current location of the folder containing the media then my script FindTracks should be able to reconnect it to iTunes.

JBuilder 5 and Nokia Developer Suite
I'm facing a serious problem, my pc is running Windows2000 and I try to install JBuilder 5 Personal Edition with Nokia MobileSet. However after I installed it my start menu didn't have the program group for JBuilder and when I installed Nokia Developer Suite, it occured error, can anyone help me to solve this problem?

I think you`d better
1. uninstall JB5;
2. re-install JB5;
3. install Mobil set from Borland, I think the newest one is 1.0.3. it is free.
4. install nokia suite
5. install nokia emulator
it is easy to use all defalut path for installing everything

In the process of a long needed upgrade to my 2010 Mac Pro Quad core 2.8 and have run into a serious headache that I really need advice on so I can get back to work. I've already spent 2 days dealing with all of this...
Just did a new SSD install and Migration which went fine but I'm also updating the rest of the internal drives. My main (non boot) drive was being upgraded from a Seagate Barracuda 3tb to a 4th Deskstar NAS (it was showing as compatible with my desktop, see links below). My 3tb ran fine for years but now due to it being heavily used I want to switch to a new drive and I can also use a bit more space.
The issue I'm running into is that initially on boot, my system was telling me it couldn't recognize the disk and it wasn't even showing up in Disk Utility. I had to purchase a SATA USB 3 kit to attach it as an external to get it to show which worked without problem. With the USB kit I was then able to partition it (GUID, Mac OS extended journaled) and format it properly. After reinserting the drive into my tower as an internal it failed to show again. After a few attempts of restarts and trying various bays it popped up but showed as a non formatted drive and I was told again that the system didn't recognise it. I was then given the option to initialise and was then actually able to then format and partition it though Disk Utility while it was installed as an internal.
Figured that was problem solved but when I went to check the drive and getting ready to transfer files over I noticed that Disk Utility was only allowing the First Aid and Partition options but not Erase, RAID, Restore which I'd never seen before. I then also noticed that none of the drive connection info was in the same format nor will it even provide drive bay info, connection info or read/write status (See screen shots). This is what I can't figure out and really need to clarify before I put full trust into using this drive.
Any info would be greatly appreciated...

A strange day with my G5?? Need advice please!

The system in question is a dual 2.3 GHz Power PC G5 running OS 10.5.4.
Since replacing the power supply about a year ago, the system has never been a problem.
It's almost 2 years old and is still under AppleCare.
Today I started up in the morning and ran Quickbooks. After some routine check writing,
my desktop picture disappeared and the monitor started to display random, scrolling code.
The random numbers and letters covered the entire monitor. I have never seen anything like it
on a mac before. I held the power button to restart. Computer came up, things seemed fine.
After working, without incident, with a word processing program for 5 or so hours I put the G5 to sleep and went downstairs. About an hour later I walked by the room and noticed a VERY LOUD noise coming from the computer. Seriously, it sounded like a frigging jet taking off!! I guess it sounded like a really loud fan. I have never heard this sound come out of a mac- ever. I held the power button to restart. System came up fine. I shut down.
Then after dinner I went back to the G5 (actually to post here!) and the system stopped in mid-boot!
The circulliar gear thing that spins to let you know the computer is starting - just stopped.
Again I did a reboot and everything came up fine.
I'm just wondering if anyone has seen any or all of these things and if there's any advice. I'm wondering if thy're connected to one malfunction?? I make a living using this computer so I'm just trying to stay ahead of whatever the problem is. Any help or advice is appreciated.

Sounds like a kernel panic. Actual, not random, but a report of what happened.
What is a kernel panic? (Mac OS X)
Try and run the Apple Hardware Test, which is on the original install discs.

RAM is a very common cause of panics and startup problems. Test the RAM using Rember.
Damage to a drive directory is a remote possibility as the cause of the panic, and is of definite concern with general startup problems.
Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck
There are other causes of kernel panics other than hardware. Have you installed any new software lately? How about updates?

CC update is REALLY confusing and problem filled... need advice please
I have 2 macs. On one, I just clicked on the update all in the CC desktop notification...what a mistake that was! LR would not work at all and PS installed a new version and (I think) updated my old version. But the new version does not have all my plugins working with it - it asked me if I wanted to migrate something (presets or something) and I said yes, but that did not seem to work either.
My question are:
1- do I really want to update Photoshop CC AND Photoshop cc 2014???
2- is there no way to just update the existing version so all the plugins work without an hour or so of figuring out how to reinstall them???
The LR problem I finally solved by downloading 5.5 manually and manually installing over the bad CC desktop install.
whew... what a bungle from Adobe...they are so proud of their new glitzy Web site and new apps and can't even update existing ones with out disaster... I've turned off auto download forever !!!

Files visible, hidden, the same as other files, do not do anything, unless they happen to cause the disk to be completely or nearly full. Otherwise they are just 1's and 0's. They are passive (speaking as a paid file system developer).
These files can't be easily removed.
If they can't be removed, then they are essential to the proper operation of the operating system (such as /private/var/vm/swapfie(s)). And if you have huge swapfile(s), then it is an indication of running too many RAM hungry apps concurrently, or a Mac that could use more RAM.
So I think using speed up Mac software is the best solution.
Hang around these forums long enough and you will see that in many cases those speed up, clean up, anti-malware apps "ARE" the "certain heavy applications running in the background" to use your own words. It has been the experience of the long time forum contributors that once these 3rd party utilities are removed, most performance issues and system panics go away.
