Downloading a tv series

How do you download episodes of a tv series? I purchased the complete series and 3 of the last 4 are in 'waiting' status and gives an error message I do not have permission to download. The final episode doen't even show up as ready to download. Where is it and how do I download all 4?

I took a look, It says 10 episodes for 17 dollars and something. so you would pay for 10 episodes and then when the new one was posted to the store you would have to buy it separatly for 1.99

You've got to be freakin' kidding me. I'm in Brazil, I accidentally started a 2.2GB download that it says will take 592 minutes to download, and there's no way I can stop it and download something else until that first download finishes? I would have thought it was unthinkable 15 years ago that anyone would build an app that downloads things but doesn't allow the option of canceling the download, but in this day and age? So much for Apple making intuitive, user-friendly products.

  • I brought a new ipad (3rd generation), the problem i am having is with itunes. i downloaded a television series onto my ipad, i did not know that it would try to download it all at one time. my question is how do i change the way my ipad loads.

As I stated in the title, I purchased an ipad (3rd generation), and I am having trouble with itunes downloads. Mistakenly when I purchased a television series I selected download the entire series to my ipad. Is there a way to stop this download and change the download location to either my laptop or into the cloud?

Did you try tapping on the download to bring up a pause status? You can finish the download on the computer in iTunes. You may be able to delete the download by swiping across the progress bar of the download after you finish the download on the computer.
Launch iTunes on your computer and go to Store>Check for available downloads. Finish the download in iTunes and then try to delete the download from the iPad.

If anyone is reading this still looking for what caused the issue and how to fix it here is what I discovered.
The antivirus program our company uses, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, was causing some of the PDF files not to open. After troubleshooting the different modules and settings the culprit was..
Scan SSL in Privacy Control Settings. Turning it OFF solved the problem and all the PDF files that previously would not open now open just fine. This issue has been sent to Bitdefender for them to review. If you use a different antivirus program and are having this issue try locating the Scan SSL setting and see if turning it off solves the problem.

How I download a Tv series from DVD to itunes?

Handbrake see http://handbrake.fr/ can convert such files to iTunes compatible format. However Handbrake by itself does not copy from protected commercial DVDs as doing so is illegal in many (but not all) countries.
For dealing with DVD protection you are on your own as it is not allowed to be discussed here.

  • If I download a tv series, how long have I got to view it?

I'm thinking of downloading a tv series from iTunes, but not sure how long I have to view the series. I know if you rent a movie, you have 30 days to start the movie, with 24 hours to finish watching it but thee is no where that tells you about tv shows. Thanks.

You can keep it as long as you want it, there is no time limit for them, only rentals have limits. So as long as you keep a copy (they can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then you can keep watching it.

  • I have downloaded a tv series to watch while travelling without wifi. It keeps freezing, how do I stop this?

I have downloaded a tv series to watch while travelling without wifi.  It keeps freezing on me, how do I stop this?

    Try this:
    1. Close all inactive apps in the Task Bar
    2. Reset iPad
    3. Try TV series again

  • I downloaded a TV series and when I try to play it, the screen is just black. I downloaded the latest version of iTunes as well.

I downloaded a TV series and all the episodes show "downloaded" and when I go to play them in iTunes on my laptop, the screen is black and it wont play. I made sure I have the latest version of iTunes. I have no problem playing them on my iPad. This is the first time this has happened...I have been able to play all my downloads on my PC in the past.

See if any of these things will get the videos app working again.
    Quit the videos app completely.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Try the videos app again.
If that doesn't work, reboot the iPad. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If that fails, try this. Swipe to the right from your first home screen to get to the iPad Spotlight search. Type in the name of the movie in the field at the top. When the movie appears in the search - tap on it and it should start to play. Let it play for a minute or so - hit done - go back to videos app and see if all is OK.

  • Hi, i have downloaded peppa pig series using itunes, and have tried to sync them to my Ipad Mini and IPhone 5, however it is not working it states "videos from your Itunes libary can not be copied to 'ipad' because they can not be played on this Ipad.

I have downloaded Peppa Pig series using Itunes and have tried to sync the tv programme to both my Ipad Mini and IPhone 5.  However neither work saying that 'videos from Itunes Libary can not be copied to 'ipad' because they can not be played on this I Pad.  I have downloaded the HD episodes is this my problem or do i need to download a 'video watching' app?  Please help we are going away next week and the episodes were to help keep my toodler occupied on the plane.  thank you

The error you received kinda looks like the one in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4223
But the iPhone 5 and the iPad mini should support HD videos.
What I would try is downloading the movies directly to your iPad mini or your iPhone.  You will want to do this when connected to Wi-Fi, but you can follow these steps in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
    I hope that helps!

  • I'v downloaded a tv series, paid for it, its in my itunes but with exclamation marks next to it, every time it tries to download the series it says "part of the file seems to be corrupted" and tells me to redownload it.Tried that and it comes up the same.

I'v downloaded a tv series, paid for it, its in my itunes but with exclamation marks next to it, every time it tries to download the series it says "part of the file seems to be corrupted" and tells me to redownload it.Tried that 8 times and it comes up the same. What do I do?

Clear the contents of ...iTunes\iTunes Media\Download and try one more time.
If the problem recurs use the "report a problem" links in your account history and explain what has happened so far. There may be a problem with the source rather than your download of it.

  • How I download a MP4 series of videolectures (that the seller has stored in Amazon S3 and has sent to my iPad email address--which is different from the one I use from the MacBookPro) from my iPad to my MacBookPro-.

How I download a MP4 series of videolectures (that the seller has stored in Amazon S3 and has sent to my iPad email address--which is different from the one I use from the MacBookPro) from my iPad to my MacBookPro (so that I can the save them in iTunes and then synchronize some of the videolectures to the iPad?)

To set it up as POP you need to delete the account, reboot the phone by holding the HOME and SLEEP buttons at the same time until an Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds), then add it back following these instructions: Forcing creation of a POP or IMAP email account
I understand that you have used the same account for many years, but the technology is also changing constantly. Years ago the standard was POP (Post Office Protocol), which was designed at a time when it was inconceivable that anyone would access their email from more than one device. When people started using multiple devices, for the most part they wanted to see changes on one device mirrored on another. A new standard, IMAP (Internet Mail Access Protocol) was developed. With iMAP the master copy of all messages resides on a server, and multiple devices are kept in sync with the server. So if you delete a message from one device it is removed from the server, and then removed from all other devices when they next sync. This is the same way Microsoft Exchange works. Other benefits of IMAP include the ability to have multiple mail folders that are kept in sync across devices. In your case you could use this to create a separate folder for each family member, so they could move messages to their own folder and not clutter up the shared Inbox. Most computer mail readers can even automatically sort incoming mail into folders based on the contents of the message.
IMAP is considered a "higher level" standard than POP. When you create a mail account iOS devices query the server and ask what it supports; if it says it supports IMAP then the account is automatically configured for IMAP. So if you really want POP you must fool it, as described in the link above. In my experience Android devices default to the highest level protocol also, and I suspect newer Blackberries do (although it has been 15 years since I used a BB).

  • HI.  Why does it take me a minimum of 4 hours to download 1 tv series.

Hi     I am trying to download a tv series.  It is taking me over 4 hours for 1 episode why is this?

    That's actually rather slow...
For the best viewing experience when renting or purchasing iTunes content on Apple TV, you need a broadband Internet  connection. A sustained 8 Mbit/s or faster Internet connection is recommended for viewing 1080p high-definition movies and TV shows, 6 Mbit/s or faster is recommended for  viewing 720p content, and 2.5  Mbit/s or faster for standard-definition content. Internet connection speeds may  vary depending on your ISP and other factors.
    High Definition vs. Standard Definition
If your Internet  connection is too slow to quickly start playing High Definition movies  or TV shows, consider changing your iTunes Store Video Resolution preference to  Standard Definition. To do so, from the main iTunes menu, choose Settings > iTunes Store, and toggle the "1080p HD" or "720p HD" option to "Standard Definition". Movie and TV show purchases and rentals will now be in Standard Definition.
Note: 1080p HD content is available on Apple TV (3rd generation) only.

You may need to put the iPad into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 - you should then be able to reset the iPad.
If you haven't synced to a computer them (from here) :
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.

  • I am downloading a tv series from iTunes and it is a long process, can I otherwise use my MacBook pro?

I am downloading a tv series from iTunes.  It is taking a long time.  Can I otherwise use my Mac or will it mess up my download?  don't want to lose my money!

Yes, I mean that, and no emailing or chatting or other network related activity. Unless of course you have a super-fast internet connection, and the slow download is 'cos the server sending it is very slow.

    Hi,
As you have match, I suggest that you create a new library by holding ctrl whist launching iTunes. Select create new library. Sign into iTunes Store and activate match. You will now have access to your music and will be able to stream your music.
Options : get a new external drive formatted for mac and either download music from match or copy music from old drive to new one. Alternatively you could reformat old drive and download music from match - I would not be comfortable using this option as it means erasing drive before being able to use with mac.
