Downloading Adobe Content Viewer

I'd like other people to be able to see a folio I've created. They don't necessarily have any Adobe programs. Is it free to download the Adobe Content Viewer? What are the links to download it for the Mac and PC?

Never mind, found the answer here: https://forums.adobe.com/message/6296947
Missed this one. Sorry to hear this.

I have downloaded and istalled Adobe Content Viewer to my iPad. When I try to sign in with my Adobe ID, I keep getting Authentication Failure, what am I doing wrong?

    Thanks for the quick reply.
Do you have any examples of system extensions or accessibility features that might be the culprit?  I have actually never heard of those terms before.

  • How do you download the Adobe Contents Viewer to a Kindle Fire?

Trying to view a folio created in InDesign 5.5 on a Kindle Fire. I downloaded Adobe Contents Viewer and it gives me this error: This issue is available for download, but requires a newer version of the ap Adobe Content. Please update your app from the Android Market. I tried downloading it from Android Market but it still gives me the same error.

  • Private app distribution: dev version / testflight / adobe content viewer / b2b distribution

    Hi Adobe Community!
I am finalizing an app for my company that is supposed to be distributed only among our distributors. Apple rejected my Enterprise inquiry since our distributors are not our employees. I wanted to sum up my distribution options now and ask you for feedback. I do not plan to use App Store.
    1. B2B distribution through apple
I can distribute custom b2b app through Apple, but it is available only in few european countries and this does not cover our needs since we cannot supply to all distributors. Also the process looks very complicated and I'd like to not use it.
    2. Adobe Content Viewer distribution
If I tell my customers to download Adobe Content Viewer and sign in with my Adobe ID, the newest version of folios will be automatically downloaded to their devices?
Also on Adobe website it is stated that my folios should be automatically uploaded to Adobe servers - but they are not. From what I read on the forums I understood that it is only available to Creative Cloud subscribers, is it right? If I subscribe will I be able to use this way for as many users I want?
    3. Developer version
Finally I know that I can distribute dev version. I will have to register devices UDIDs but they will expire (after what time?) and how many UDIDs can I register (I read in different places that I can have 50 or 100 testers).
    4. TestFlight
What I undestood so far is that facilitates developeloper version distribution, but wouldn't I be able to use this tool to go around UDIDs expiration?
    Thank a lot!

With DPS enterprise and Apple enterprise account, you can built and deploy enterprised signed app internally within your organisation. Create the app, deploy and host it internally, so anyone who has access to the link can download the app. Not sure if Apple terms allows your distributors from outside your organisation to access and download the app hosted internally within your organisation, check that with Apple.
If Apple terms does not allow, then you can use DPS restricted distribution method to deploy the app on the Appstore, but allow someone access to the content only if they are authenticated via the app, called direct entitlement or restricted distribution. Go here for details: Using restricted distribution with Digital Publishing Suite
Signing in to ACV does not automatically download the latest folio. Your folios are always uploaded on Adobe servers, you cannot host it somewhre else. Anyone can create, upload folios and see the folio in the Adobe Content Viewer. But publishing the folio to be available in an app requires DPS subscription.
You can register upto 100 UDID's on Apple dev portal. I don't think the UDID's expires so long as your Apple Dev account is active but the certificates expires exactly one year from the day it was generated.

  • Adobe Content Viewer for Web?

Can someone please tell me if there is a way to share a Folio for review without an iPad and of course without Indesign that includes it's interactivity?  I know you can share a Folio online through DPS Folio Producer but all you get are large thumbnails and none of the interactivity.    The DPS features site lists an Adobe Content Viewer for Web but gives little detail other than that.   Basically I need to share this Folio with all it's glory to a few people who do not have an iPad or Indesign.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

FilipeVSpeck, with this "web viewer" you could share your Folio in a browser with all interactivity working fine?
Let's say our client wants to publish a magazine for iPad, and also wants to have it available in their website. So, since users download "adobe content viewer for web" they will be able to read the magazine in a desktop (pc and mac) with all interactivity ??

  • Need to download folios repeatedly in Adobe Content Viewer

    Hi:
We are using Adobe Content Viewer (ACV) for a digital education project. The ACV app is used in iPad´s and when are turned off, we need to download again all the folios previously downloaded to the ACV app.
Someone who has the same problem, how to fix it?.
    Thanks,
    Oscar

I am using iPad 2 with iOS 7.0.4. and latest ACV, more than 10 gb free.
    1. Basically, I download a folio on my iPad device, I can open it and everything is just fine. When I click "remove issues from library" I see  both folios, one occupies 28 mb, the other one 48 mb. One is made for viewer version 20 the other for 26.
    2. Then, I shut down the device completely and turn it back on after few seconds.
    3. I launch ACV, both of those folios appear just fine, until I click on them.
    4. Just as I click on a folio, the background appears just light gray, without any content. If I tap on the screen, I don't even get top menu, where I can return to library. So I have to force quit ACV.
    5. When I launch ACV again, both folios have the cloud icon next to them, and I need to download them in order to view them, HOWEVER, when I click "remove issues from library" button, I see that both folios are still there with the same mb size.
So, it looks like they are still on the device, but for some reasons I need to re-download them again.
Unfortunately I don't have any other iPads to test these folios.
Just to remind, this happens only to 2 out of many folios, both were made in summer last year, they are not published and are only used on the current device as presentations.
Regarding updates, to be honest, I don't remember if I had this prior to last iOS update, but I might not have noticed that.
Usually, if I see there is an update, I just update it.
Is there anything you would recommend to try?
I have not yet tried to remove ACV from the device and re-install. Or unshare that folio and share it again.

  • Cannot download folio in adobe content viewer - urgent help please

    Hello,
my folio won't download in my Adobe content viewer ("cannot connect to server") and I would have needed it for a presentation at the client - the client also wanted to download the folio on his device but the same error came up. I tried it then with another iPad, same problem on 3 different iPads. I uninstalled the ACV app, installed it again, removed old issues of the magazine from the iPad and tried all that. But everything failed. In the past it always worked fine. This time, the only difference is that I have 2 Youtube videos as "web content" in the folio, but I can't imagine that could be the problem. There were no problems when having the iPad connected to my laptop, everything worked fine. But without cable connection and trying to download it into the Adobe content viewer, the download does not work. Can somebody help me please? And will that have a negative affect on the submission towards the Apple App Store?

    Hello Neil,
I tried 2 different wireless networks with 3 different iPads and I had the problem with all networks and iPads unfortunately. When I did other app magazine issues for that client in the past, everything always worked fine with the 2 different networks and there were no settings changed. This is why I am so confused about this.
Meanwhile, I have managed to give my client access by private-publishing the folio via the Folio Panel with my personal Adobe ID and I gave my client my personal Adobe ID for that. Not the ideal solution but at the moment that works.

  • Adobe Content Viewer, library downloading issue

I have the free version of the folio building tools currently with acrobat.com as I test the capabilities of the publishing suite for our company. I updated the folio tools, can sign in, create a folio, and it appears OK in the shared workspace on acrobat.com. I sign into the Ipad and open up the Adobe Content Viewer app. I sign in and it gives me the message downloading library. Here is where the problem happens. After it is finished loading, nothing updates. I can't get the folio to load into the Ipad and neither can my workmate who I shared the file with. I made sure the app was completely up to date.
Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?  Is this a common problem?
    ~ V

    All,
I just worked with another customer reporting the same circumstances, and it turned out that, as part of their migration from prerelease to their purchase of DPS, they had not provisioned the Adobe ID that they used to build their custom Viewer app. I need to know the name of your company, and the Adobe ID used to build your app, to determine if this is the cause of your failures.
Alternatively, if you have not yet purchased DPS, then your failures are due to the shut down of the prerelease program.
    Matthew
I just work for the company so I would not be able to get a hold of their Apple ID. We have the Creative Suite and I am working in InDesign CS5 with the updated folio tools extension.
I wanted to confirm that because the prerealease program is shut down, those with the free acrobat.com account can not publish a folio to the Adobe Content Viewer?  Because a few weeks ago, we could. I can still see my folio in the shared workspace on acrobat.com

  • Adobe content viewer "error during download, please try again"

I'm experiencing some strange behavior in the new version of adobe content viewer.
When Launching the viewer app for the first time on an ipad I will get the login screen, enter credentials and then be presented with the home page, with an Icon for my one published folio, HOWEVER:
My icon is missing on the home page
When I click the folio to start a download, the icon in that window is missing.
I click download in the upper right and reciever the following error: "error during download, please try again"
I noticed that in the upper left, my viewer app still says "Sign IN" not sign OUT like it normally would.
If I hit sign IN in the upper leftt, the icon previews then load, and the app will download properly.
Has anyone else experienced this? It seems to be new with this latest release.
    Thank you.

Here is the screen after I enter the Login once. note the "sign in" in the upper left, and the blank icon, yet it pulls the folio title in fine.
This is after you click the above blank icon.
And this is the error after clicking download. presumeably because the account isn't "logged in"

  • Adobe Content Viewer download

How do I download the most recent edition of Adobe Content Viewer for Windows so that I can re-install it?

Do you mean the desktop preview tool that installs with the InDesign tools? Or do you mean our Adobe Content Viewer for Windows 8.1?
Desktop preview tool: Can't install, locate Desktop Adobe Content Viewer
Adobe Content Viewer for Windows 8.1: http://apps.microsoft.com/windows/en-us/app/adobe-content-viewer/d3ae86c7-b96a-4547-b5e2-e e1e113207e7

  • Adobe content viewer grey screen after login on windows 8.1

we're on Windows 8.1, content viewer is not running, after login it shows a  grey screen with just "Adobe content Viewer" on the upper left, but  nothing working....

I'm sorry Neil, I'm working on a folio on Indesign, if I share the folio from Folio Builder (Indesign) to my account, and then I open adobe content viewer on my iPad, I can see the cover of the folio shared and I can download it.
Instead, with the same account on adobe content viewer (windows 8.1), I see nothing and I can not do any action.

Hello Bob and thank you for responding so quickly ... Would you be kind enough to send me the link where I can download older versions of Folio Builder and Folio Producers Panel tools for InDesign 5.5. I'm looking for them but I can not find them.
    Thank you for your patience.

As discussed in numerous threads already, the new viewer has not been approved by Apple yet.
If you’re a pro or enterprise customer you can create your own viewer app. If not, you’ll have to wait or roll back to the older tools.

  • Adobe Content Viewer Application not Loading in China

I am having a problem viewing an application I uploaded to an Adobe Content Viewer account. I can see the application just fine in my dashboard after I log in, but when my contact in China logs in using the same username and password, the application does not appear in her dashboard. Do you know how to resolve this? Is there a firewall that is preventing users in China from seeing the application I uploaded?
    Thanks,
    Kate

Yes, if Adobe's folios could be downloaded in China, it means Chinese Internet sencorship is gone. Imagine how many magazines are there for Chinese people to download that the government won't be happy to see if Adobe's folios is available to download. Sad for Chinese...

  • How can I view content that I've archived on the iPad Adobe Content Viewer?

Sorry, I'm new to the DPS process. I tapped "Archive" in the Adobe Content Viewer thinking that I would be able to retrieve it from the archive. I haven't been able to find that capability yet! I've tried renaming the document in InDesign and updating, thinking the project would appear in the content viewer. Again, no dice. I even deleted the content viewer from the iPad and reinstalled. Logged out, logged in. No dice. I cannot seem to have any luck seeing my project again. It was displaying just fine earlier today. Damn curiosity! Why did I tap on the archive button? Any help would be much appreciated!
    Cheers,
    Dave

I guess what I was asking is when you tap Archive in the Adobe Content Viewer on the iPad there is a pop-up that says "Are you sure you want to Archive?" and "This item will be removed from your device. You may download it again at anytime for free." But there is no option to do this within the iPad app! At least none that I can see.
I ended up creating a new folio with the same articles. It works now, but the archive function is not intuitive! It should work the same as when you archive magazines in the Newstand app. I mean, that's how people expect it to work. I guess in Adobe speak archive = delete!
Anyway, if you archive something it removes it from the app and you will not see a download button.
    Thanks!
    Dave
