Downloading an older version of Flash Player

A couple of years ago our school purchased some Sony DSC-S40 digital cameras that came with an enclosed tutorial on disk.  This tutorial used Adobe flash and was fantastic.  I used it as a primer for my students before doing digital photography.  Adobe has since upgraded flash and the tutorial will no longer work with the new flash product.  I can see that the newest version of flash is 10.  Is it possible to download an earlier version of flash to play the tutorial?

If you need Flash Player 9, you can get it from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ (specify Windows 98/ME).
Get older versions from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html
P.S.  uninstall FP10 before installing any earlier version.

Some MacBook Pro versions cannot be upgraded past 10.6.8; others are maxed out at 10.7.5. newer models can go all the way to 10.10. So it is important to know exactly what version you have--there may be close to 40 variants produced since the MB made its debut in 2006.
You can safely give us a snapshot of your model and its current config that will allow us to deternmmine your model and its upgrade potential, plus show it you have any software that may impede any upgrades. Please download and install this free utility:

It is secure and written by one of our most valued members to allow users to show details of their computer's configuration in Apple Support Communities without revealing any sensitive personal data.
Run the program and click the "Copy report to clipboard" button when it displays the results. Then return here and paste the report into a response to your initial post. It can often show if any harmful files/programs are dragging down your performance.
Remember that, on leaving OS10.6.8, you lose the ability to run older softare written for older PowerPC Macs (yours in Intel-based). Programs such as Office 2004 will no longer work (min of Office 2008 needed to work on newer OS versions), and AppleWorks will stop working completely

  • I downloaded the latest version of flash player, not working?

I just got my computer back from being fixed and I'm redownloading everything I need.
I have a Mac OS X Version 10.7.5 and i downloaded the latest version of flash player for it. It appears to be installed because there's a window opens up saying "Thank you, enjoy flash player." or something like that after I have downloaded the flash player.
I've tried several times and I STILL can't watch videos or do things that require flash player.
I went to my system preferences, clicked on Flash Player and went to the advanced bar, and it says "Plug-in version 11.9.900.117 is installed."
However, when i go to this page: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html
And I click the "Check Now" button to see if flash player has been installed onto my computer, it says:
"Sorry, Flash Player is either not installed or not enabled.
    Please go to step 2."
And so I did and downloaded it AGAIN. I only saw the same thing after i reloaded the page and tried again.
I do not have an anti-virus program, so it can't be that.
    Is the flash player enabled?
How do I check if it's enabled/enable it?

It's usually in your browser's Tools section.

  • For the past week, I am unable to view videos. The page comes up with this comment: "Blocked plug-in" and it suggests that I download the latest version of Flash player. I have downloaded that and still get the same comment. Please help.

I have an iMac11.2 and am running Mac OS 10.6.8. I have not had a problem viewing videos until the past week or so. Now I cannot view videos on my news, facebook or in email messages at all. A message pops up in the window that says "Blocked plug-in". I have downloaded the latest version of Flash Player for which it asks and still no luck. Can anyone here help me with this? Thank you. Grace

TThere have been 3 updates to flash player ink the past month.
    download and install the latest.
this warning seems to be a part of the newer security updates.

  • I have an older version of flash player in my new computer and I can't uninstall it it is system 32 and I have system 64 I am not much of a computer person and need help I keep getting pop ups saying there is a bad image

I have an older version of flash player that seems to be in my computer_16_0_0_305.exe and it says bad image
I could not uninstall it and put a new one in. I keep getting this pop up 2 and 3 times.

    Hi,
The Flash Player installer is a universal installer for both 32 and 64-bit systems.  On a 64-bit OS, it installs both versions, on a 32-bit OS, it installs only the 32-bit version.  I'm confused by why you think you only have the 32-bit version.  Please provide more information, including screenshots (How to post a screenshot in the forum) so that we may further troubleshoot your situation.
    Thank you.
    Maria

  • How do i download a newer version of Flash player.  I have tried 10 times, it says complete..however

How do I download a new version of flash player.  I have tried 10 times, each time it says complete.  However when I need it on a site, it says I don't have it????????   Thank you

    Hello,
I have a similar problem than sam6sam had except that I'm on Safari. After the Mountain Lion security update I did last Friday, I had to update Flash. I installed .149, deinstalled, restarted, reinstalled .149 about 2 dozens times and it didn't work. Yesterday I saw that you had .167 and thought "finally they will have fixed this issue". After doing the same deinstall restart and install routine another dozen time, I give up!
I've followed all the instructions on this page:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-mac.html
    and this page:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/5067997#5067997
    and this page:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html
    and still nothing.
It looks like it's installed. When I go into System Preference Flash Player shows "Plug-in version 11.6.602.167 is installed.", yet when I want to see a flash video it tells me that I don't have the software and need to install it. My Safari Preferences allow for Pop-up and Enable Plug-in. My "open 'safe' files after downloading" is clicked.
I've search all of Adobe, Apple and other geeky website's "help" area, and nothing I tried worked, including the "sudo" commands in the terminal (the answer to this one is "command not found").
I'm really frustrated by this. There is certainly something that I overlooked, but I cannot figure it out. Help!

  • How to install older versions of Flash Player(ActiveX) in Win 8?

    Hello all,
How to install older version of Flash Player in Windows 8? and how to uninstall default Flash Player that come from IE10 in Windows 8?
Actually I want to install Adobe_Flash_Player_(IE)_v11.7.700.224.exe in Windows 8.
Is it possible to overcome this issue? If it is not, could you share me your information on this issue?
    Thanks in advance.
    RK.

    Thank you for reply..
Actually i uninstalled the existing version of Flash Player from my Windows 8 PC, but when i tried to install the older version, it was not allowing me to install and was showing that my browser is included with latest version.
Even i followed the below given websites, it didn't given any remedy for it.
    http://flash-focus.blogspot.in/2007/03/installing-previous-versions-of-flash.html
    http://www.itsecdb.com/oval/objectdetails/oval/org.mitre.oval/obj/7075/windows-registry_ob ject-Registry-that-holds-the-version-of-the-Adobe-Flash-Player-in/
So that my PC is restricting the older version installation from somewhere which holds the version information and that user cannot modify/delete that information. If i know that mystery i can install any version of Flash Player in my Windows 8.
I hope i will find this.
    Thanks for your support.

  • Need older version of Flash Player for my eMac?

I'm running OS 10.3.5 for MAC on an eMac. What version of Flash player is available? and where can I download it?

I suspect this version will work for you:
What version of Flash Player should I use with my Power PC based Mac?
Otherwise you can find older releases here:
Where do I find previous versions of Flash Player?

  • Why can't I download the latest version of Flash player?

My system recently updated from Windows Explorer 9 to Windows Explorer 10. But I was encountering issues with trying to update to the latest version of Flash even prior to that.  I keep getting the prompt that an update is available, but when I follow the steps, I get to Step 1, and click on the "Install now" button, and the screen changes to Step 2 but nothing else happens.  For a moment it says "Initializing..." and then it says "If you encounter any issues downloading Adobe Flash Player, click here."  But nothing else happens.  If I click on the "Click here" button, it just tells me that when the File Download box appears I should click "Run" and when the User Account Control box appears I should click "Yes."  But neither of these boxes ever appears!  Very frustrating!  (My current Adobe Flash version is 11.9.900.170 and my security program is Norton 360).  Thanks.

    Download and run these installers:
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)

  • How can I download the current version of Flash Player?

After nearly 3 weeks my original request received 0 replies; I'm not too impressed with this forum. I uninstalled and reinstalled my OS X 10.6.8 operating system on my MacBook Pro with Intel Core 2 Duo after following troubleshooting instructions to uninstall which left me w/o any version. I was then able to reinstall version 10.1.102.64 of Flash Player. However, I am still not able to install the current version, 11.1.102.55, either using Safari or Firefox. What is the issue? I hope this inquiry is viewed and answered since my previous posting was not.

I just wondered if you ever saw my reply to your above message since it doesn't appear here. I've copied it below:
When I click on the link provided in your email, it takes me to: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/909550 where I select the link below.
    MacintoshFlash Player for supported browsers
Upon clicking on that link, using my satellite connection, I see this url: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/licensing/mac/install_flash_playe r_11_osx.dmg as my screen goes black for a very few moments and then returns to the same screen where I made that selection, the page I see when clicking on the link you provided in your email.
That is all. It is about the same experience I have when clicking on the download now button/link at: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/. I see the page: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/11.1.102.55/install_flash_player_osx. dmg, but while it says the download may take a few minutes it only takes a few seconds, if that, to return to one of the previous pages. This is my experience using Safari. With Firefox, which I have not been using regularly and had not upgraded to the latest version, I found I was unable to upgrade Firefox and so maybe that tells you something. The problem may be more with my computer than with your software.
Still I am clearly quite frustrated at not being able to view certain videos, etc. which use the latest version of Flash Player.
    Thanks for your concern.

  • Uninstall older versions of Flash Player?

I just installed the latest update for Flash Player...can I now uninstall older versions?

    Yes, you can.
It is best to use the uninstaller from Adobe. It is on this page:
    http://http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
    Follow the instructions.
Because I am having problems with getting Flash Player that works on my pc, I have saved the Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller to my desktop. It is helpful not having to go back to the Adobe page to get it when I need it.
After uninstalling old versions of Flash Player, remember to check that the new version you keep is installed correcly and working properly, go to the Adobe "Find Version" page and follow the instructions there.
    Here:
    http://http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html#main_Find_the _Flash_Player_version_installed_on_your_machine
    Hope this helps.
