Downloading and Installing iTunes on Win 8.1 Pro

I have downloaded iTunes on my new PC that has the Win 8.1 Pro OS. When the download finished and iTunes opened up for the first time I got an error message that said 'iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/Video playback may not operate properly.'
I haven't downloaded my iTunes library from my old PC to this new PC yet. I'm hesitant to do so due to getting this error message right off the bat.
Any suggestions for fixing this problem are greatly appreciated.

You can try using this tool to first remove all traces of Reader from your computer:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then, you can download the full offline Reader installer from
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

I´m using snow leopard the last version. What can i do to solve this problem and and continue using my itunes normally?

Try doing it in a WIndows Safe mode - Restart computer and hit F8 key right after your see BIOS check and choose "Safe mode with networking"
    Do the SFC /SCANNOW again.
If that does not work, whilst in safe mode, download Free Malwarebyte software from CNET's Download.com.  Install, update virus definition then perform a full scan.  Remove if it did find some viruses or trojans.  Restart computer.
Back to regular windows, do the SFC /SCANNOW again.
If that doesnot work, check to see if your Hard drive has errors or bad sectors
GO START BUTTON /COMPUTER, right mouse click OS (C:) and choose "Properties"
Choose "Tools" tab and under error checking, click "Check Now".
Make sure "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors" is checked and click start.
Restart windows will perform the above task to fix errors  This may take hours depends on how big is your Hard Drive
    Good Luck!!.

    hi ta48!
QuickTime version 7.0.2 is installed, iTunes requires QuickTime version 7.0.3 or later. Please reinstall iTunes.
hmmm. for that one first try a careful standalone QT 7.0.3 install.
download and save a copy of the standalone QT 7.0.3 installer to your hard drive. (we'll run the install from there rather than online.) switch off any antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install.
    Quicktime 7.0.3 Standalone Installer
if you get an error message on the standalone, let us know what it says. (include error message numbers if you're getting any.)
if the install goes through, will your itunes open properly?
    love, b

  • Downloading and installing itunes 6

After receiving an upgrade notice from iTunes I downloaded and installed iTunes 6. When I attempt to run it, I continue to get a message,"QuickTime version 7.0.2 is installed, iTunes requires QuickTime version 7.0.3 or later. Please reinstall iTunes." I attempted to reinstall and was given 2 options: "Repair" (reinstall all program features installed by the previous setup) OR "Remove" (remove iTunes). I selected "Repair". After doing this I continue to get the same message about QuickTime 7.0.3 and to reinstall iTunes. Should I select "Remove" (remove iTunes)? And if I do will I lose my library of downloaded songs?

How to install iTunes on Win XP 64 Pro?

iTunes is not supported on 64-bit XP. But if you search these forums for something like "XP 64", you'll find a number of threads discussing workarounds that have "forced" iTunes on the 64-bit version of XP, albeit with varying levels of success. For starters, try this thread:

    From your OLD computer...
Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..

  • Download and install iTunes software

Download and install updated iTunes software

Is your Windows Vista 32 or 64 bit?
To find out if your computer is running 32-bit or 64-bit Windows, do the following:
Open System by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking System.
Under System, you can view the system type.

OK ..... no foolin' around this time .... whenever your engaged in "trial & error", make sure you have a back-up of the current iTunes content
Disconnect all peripheral cables, except the Keyboard/Mouse and Internet connection
Remove all "hackies" and beta apps (including ShapeShifter, as others have suggested)
Open root /Library/Receipts/and +delete all iTunes pkgs.+ with version 7.0 or later
    Repair Permissions (/Applicatons/Utilities/Disk Utility
RESTART computer .... from the Apple website, download/install iTunes 7.3.2
*Do not perform any other processes during the download/install*
    Repair Permissions

  • When I try to download and install itunes

When I try to download and install intunes it gets to after it installs quicktime and then says it cant go any further because the itunes.cab file is corrupt, what do I do I need my itunes.

Have a bit of patience. No one here gets paid to help; we're all just fellow users assisting as we have time, knowledge and inclination. It may well take a bit of time before someone who might have a suggestion sees your post and responds; certainly more than the nine minutes which is all you allowed before you posted a second time. Posting back that quickly will be considered rude and will put people off from wanting to help you. Give it some time and with luck someone will have an answer for you.
If you haven't already, try downloading the iTunes installer again from Apple and give that new copy a try. You may just have a corrupted or incomplete download.
