Downloading and installing Lion issue

i have tried downloading and installing Lion but I keep getting errors similar to "error occurred, unable to install scripts from mzm.stuhjljp.pkg"  Any help???

I was getting that as well.  But I think the best thing is to "ignore it."  I know it's silly but make sure you have repaired permissions on your drive and you meet the requirements, etc.
This is what I saw before completetion.
1.  Credit card was charged only once (despite multiple prompts to buy).  I tried it on different dates but it was billed on first day.
2.  The second day it didn't prompt to buy but only gave the pkg error.  It always had 6 minutes left and I was getting kicked out of App store and had to log in again.  Lion icon looks as if it docks on your dock but it doesn't really do anything.
3. Go to the /Applications folder.  You will not find the mzm.stuhjljp.pkg file anywhere but you will find the Lion installation file.
4.   Click on the installation file and it works!
The installation file is actually the complete 3.49 gigabytes.
Good luck!

  • Downloading and installing podcast issues

The podcasts I try to download get to 100% downloaded and then I get a message that the podcast had an error downloading cancel or retry. It's been consistent. Anyone else having these issues?

  • Downloading and installing Lion on a partion on iMac 2013 with Mountain Lion.

    Hi ,
I have just partitioned my iMac 2013 thinking i would install my previously purchased Lion on the partiton. When i go to App Store to download the OS X Lion, it says " We could not complete your purchase.  This version of Mac OSX 10.7  cannnot be installed on this computer." It does not even let me download Lion installer. Can anybody please provides some insight to download the isntaller and install on a separate partition.  I am not understanding if it is telling me that the hardware of this iMac does not support Lion or if it cannot install because i already have a higher version of OS X installed on this machine?
    Thanks in advance.

It's not possible to set it up without downloading it from a computer compatible with it.

  • How to stop message pop up's since downloading and installing Lion

I have recently installed Lion on my MACBook and since then a pop up message as below occurs, specifically when opening new documents or searching on line.  I have taken a screen picture of the message - can anyone help

You can't, the popups are built into the App as a way of the developer trying too advertise other apps they have.

  • Since downloading and installing Lion, have been having trouble with internet connection. Are there settings that I need to adjust?

Just installed Lion 10.7 ... having problems opening Safari and connectivity.  Have to reset modem, restart computer, etc.  It will be stable for awhile, then next time I log on, have to go through same things.  Is there a setting that I need to adjust?

Also, I have already done the 10.7.1 update...come to think of it, the problem seems to have started after the update.  Any thoughts?

  • App store says I've downloaded and installed lion but its not installed Lion

I've purchased Lion this evening and its downloaded, so it seems by looking at the Purchased area in the App Store, it also says Installed, however Lion hasn't installed, now a little stuck, any kind offers of

Not to worry, managed to sort it in the end.

  • I'm trying to download and install lion onto my computer, but I can't because I have not purchased lion from the app store

I have erased my hard drive, so I can't buy it from the app store, even so - I can't find it. I do not have a disk that works with this computers software either.

I'm a little confused by your post. What exactly is it that you're trying to do, and what OS (if any) is installed right now?
If your computer originally came with an earlier OS and you have lost your disks, you will need to obtain those to restore it to its original condition. You can buy the retail 10.6.3 disk if your original OS was earlier than that ; otherwise you will need the exact grey original disks, which Apple can provide if you call them.
If Lion is not available on the App Store, again, Apple should be able to sell you a redemption code to allow you to install it - but you would have to install 10.6 first to get access to the store.

  • I downloaded and installed Lion now i can't find the file to burn

Does anyone know where the file is after you install the lion update. I want to burn it to disk but can't find it anywhere

why ? it is a fact.
The "install Mac OS X lion.app" is only a virtual folder, inside this folder ( right-click and "show package contents" ) you will find the real installation files and a hidden file, which contains the base system dmg ).
The net is full of instructions on how cou can create a bootable drive with the files inside the app.
After Lion has been installed from within Snow Leopartd it is too late, that's not rude to say that you should have taken care of that before..
At least what you are now experience is how Apple has invented the install process : One time launch within Snow.
some time later  ( next month or so ) Apple will sell bootable USB drives with Lion for all those that have no Internet. Your second chance, then.

  • Can you download and install Lion to another mac when you have lion server?

I have Lion Server but I have another machine on Snow Leopard that I wish to upgrade to just plain Lion. Do I have to pay for this?
I cannot seem to download it without having to pay.
    Cheers

They are considered separate products so, yes, you need to pay.
    Hope this helps

  • Downloading and installing OS X Lion - visual aids

Back up your system before you start this, or any download.
Go to App Store (located on your Dock or in your Appplications folder) - once in the store locate the OS X Lion in the Top Charts catagory.
Click on it and go through the pay process, when that is done you will see the Lion icon on your dock and below it is a download progress bar.
If you have not installed Lion it will show a price of 29.99 - rather than INSTALLED (you see this word after payment and installation)
What you're not told is that to monitor the download process you need to click on the Purchases Button in your App Store
BUT HERE'S WHAT REALLY FRUSTRATED ME - Nowhere does it say that the download time is "Network Specific". What this means to us not so tech savvy folks is the download time can range from as little as 45 minutes to as long as over 12 hours. That's right - over 12 hours.
You need to select a time of day when the internet connectivity in your area is relatively low.
For example - do this overnight - and wake up refreshed and with Lion waiting to be installed.
HOWEVER - for the few of us that like seeing the process the download time can be very frustrating.
ONCE THE DOWNLOAD IS DONE (MINE TOOK 10 1/2 HOURS) I RECEIVED A RED ERROR MESSAGE TELLING ME MY DOWNLOAD WAS UNSUCCESSFUL AND I WOULD NEED TO RETRY.
DON'T PANIC - THIS MESSAGE, IN MY PERSONAL OPINION, IS AN ERROR ITSELF!
Because it actually did say "INSTALLED" - even though nothing appeared in my Downloads Folder.
Here's what I did, when I got this ERROR MESSAGE: I went to Apple's Discussion site (which we are in now).
In the search bar I typed "install lion".
A large square overlay appeared with the same Lion picture as above and a button to Install - I just clicked it.
An installation progress bar (below) showed up telling me the approximate time for the install - again, here I recommend doing this at a time when your internet service is not at too busy. My installation took 25 minutes, but then it was already after 10pm and internet service was good.
Once you have successfully installed Lion you will be prompted to let you computer restart - be patient it does take a few minutes.
I hope this visual tutorial is helpful. Good luck!

    Interesting point you make.
In fact, since there was absolutely no help whatsoever with this very frustrating download, I was left to fend for myself.
You think they (the folks at Mac) would have anticipated this download being done by individuals that may not know all the tricks!
I hadn't thought of looking for the Install Mac OS X Lion.app in the application folder.
During the download process I accessed this very site and was shocked at the number of Mac users, trying to download and install Lion that were receiving the "installation error" message - I may not have gone about it the technically correct way, as you point out...but hey, it worked.
