Downloading and installing Lion on a partion on iMac 2013 with Mountain Lion.

Hi ,
I have just partitioned my iMac 2013 thinking i would install my previously purchased Lion on the partiton. When i go to App Store to download the OS X Lion, it says " We could not complete your purchase.  This version of Mac OSX 10.7  cannnot be installed on this computer." It does not even let me download Lion installer. Can anybody please provides some insight to download the isntaller and install on a separate partition.  I am not understanding if it is telling me that the hardware of this iMac does not support Lion or if it cannot install because i already have a higher version of OS X installed on this machine?
Thanks in advance.

It's not possible to set it up without downloading it from a computer compatible with it.

Have you tried logging out of your CC desktop app, then logging back in again? Quit/Restart won't work, but logging out and back in should. See here: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/sign-in-out-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

What are the names of those fonts?  Have you downloaded and installed the special Zawgyi font?
What is it exactly that you cannot read?  Can you provide the url?

  • My computer is new iMac 27" with Mountain Lion but doesn't recongnized in AppStore as installed, My computer is new iMac 27" with Mountain Lion but doesn't recongnized in AppStore as installed

I bought my iMac in winter. Early 2013. Mountain Lion was included.
One day, a copy program was running and seemed to get always running asking me not to stop...
    I disconnected electricity.
Afterwards, the computer refused to start on.
I carried it to MicroLogic firm in Quebec  City (west).
They made a repair and my computer is working as well from this time.
When I now open AppleStore, the sticker says MountainLion is not installed.
    Why?

Log out of the App Store and then log back in with your Apple ID and password.  See if that will let AS recognize the system you're running.
    Or you might try this:
1 - enable the Debug menu in App Store:
    open the Terminal application.
copy the command below and paste into the Terminal window:
defaults write com.apple.appstore ShowDebugMenu -bool true
    followed by Enter.
    launch App Store, login.
2 - select the Debug ➙ Reset Application option:
    3 - check again.

  • Kindle Fire won't mount on iMac 27"  with Mountain Lion

I purchased a kindle fire and I am trying to connect the Kindle Fire to iMac using the USB port.  I connect to the USB.  I have tried having the kindle fire powered down and then plug the unit to the USB.  The Kindle Fire automatically opens up and I unlock the Kindle Fire but does not Mount.  I have tried Restarting my iMac while the Kindle Fire is plugged in and does not work.  I have tried powering down the Kindle Fire while connected and then power back on and this still does not show up on my desktop.
Any ideas on how to get the drive to show up on my desktop?

I have the same problem mounting my new Kindle Paperwhite on a MacBookPro running 10.8 Mountain Lion.  The same symptoms as above.  However, there is an added wrinkle; yesterday when the only book on the Kindle was the Kindle Paperwhite Users Manual, it mounted fine and I was able successfully to transfer a book that had been previously been downloaded to my Mac.  So I thought that because that book was not obtained from Amazon, but was able to be loaded on our Kindle 2, maybe the ability to mount was that the Kindle Paperwhite was rebelling in some way.
But that thought was demolished when I connected the Kindle Paperwhite to my Mac Mini running MacOS 10.6 Snow Leopard.  It mounted fine and I was able to transfer several other books to it.
So it now seems that it is only Mac users whose Macs are running Lion, Mountain Lion and Mavericks who are reporing this problem, and the problem only happens with Kindle Paperwhites and newer.
To my debugger mind I would say that says something happened at the transition from MacOS Snow Leopard to MacOS Lion.  But I don't expect Apple to respond to this, since my experience is that when a bug is installed in MacOS X and isn't discovered immediately, the probability of it ever being fixed drops precipitously.
APPLE - THAT IS A CHALLENGE.

Is this machine capable of upgrading operating system to current version of mountain lion?

No, only mid 2007 Intel Mac models and later can install and run OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.
However, your iMac model can install and run OS X 10.7 Lion.
My opinion, your iMac is too old. While you can install and run OS X 10.7 Lion, OS X 10.7 and 10.8 use a lot more CPU, GPU, RAM and hard drive resources that your model iMac simply lacks.
Your iMac model can, barely, take enough RAM to run OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard well enough.
You are better off staying on Snow Leopard than upgrading the OS.
You will be disappointed in the performance of OS X 10.7 Lion on your model iMac.
Your iMac is not up to the real world specs to run 10.7 Lion well, either.

  • Shortly after loading, the latest version, downloaded and installed here 5/22/13, reports an error with ntdll.dll forcing a shutdown.  Apple's temporary work around works for me; launch  Itunes while first pressing  and holding CtrlShift keys ...

This  startsitunes in it's own  "safe mode", allowing normal functions.

By running in safe mode the plug-ins are not running. The issue may be caused by a plug-in.

  • How install snow in a macbook pro early 2011 with mountain lion? snow leopard original dvd its no support...

    Any solution for this?

You have to boot the system from the original Snow Leopard DVD. With the DVD inserted in the drive restart the system and nhold down either the Option key, and then select the SNow Leopard DVD from the boot selection screen that comes up, or the C key to boot directly from the DVD drive.
Once the computer starts from the SL DVD Click the Utilities menu item and select Disk Utility. Once that starts select the top most entry in the keft side, the drive name and size, then the partition tab. Select one partition from the Partition Layout area drop down, Middle area, give it the name Macintosdh HD and format Mac extended (Journaled) and then click the Apply button.
Once all that is done exit DU and continue with the install.
