Downloading and trying the 30 day trial looks like that kills my current version

If I download the 30 day trial version 30 of XI Pro, in the terms & conditions it seems to indicate that any other version of Acrobat, like my Acrobat Pro 9.5.5 will be made null & void. Is that true?

Very likely it will uninstall any older versions of Acrobat.
If you still have the install media, serial number and (if an upgrade) older serial number, you might be able to reinstall 9 later, after uninstalling the trial, but I wouldn't count on it.
I think Adobe intend the trial as for people who never had Acrobat, but I'm not sure.

Serial numbers have to be validated at the checkout register to be active and it seems like this one may not have been. Did you buy this online or from a brick-and-mortar store? And is the issue you're having with a serial number or with a redemption code? I ask this because when I bought a boxed set of PSE13+PRE13 at Best Buy a couple weeks ago, it had a redemption code on the inner disc sleeve and a website to use to convert that redemption code to a pair of serial numbers.

I have downloaded FF5 - however, the browser doesnt look like version 5 - it still looks like the previous version browser window. For example, I dont have the new style orange button on the top left. Under "Help" it states version 5 - it just doesnt look like it.
I have downloaded version 5 on my home machine, so I know what to expect.
Can anyone advise me?

That is because you are on Windows XP your settings weren't messed up by default. In the future you will have to use "Alt" to see the menus, or use the "Firefox: button which puts the menu in two columns.
View > (check) Tabs on Top

When I use yahoo images and i open an image in a new window, it tweakes out firefox so that panes are distorted and exerything, the whole firefox browser looks like an F5 tornado took it apart and lumped it on my desktop... is this a known glitch?

When I use yahoo images and open an image in a new window, the page, once I click its tab causes the entire browser to scramble graphically, making it nearly impossible to navigate further. I right-clicked and selected close tab. That regains the visual clarity of the browser. But how can I fix this to browse the images?

I tried it again using "save link as", and this time it actually worked! I just now downloaded several more using the "save link as" option, and it works perfectly. Thanks. Problem solved.

There is no charge for the JCOP Tools. The tools are provided as-is with no warranty or support. Instructions for downloading and activating the tools follow.
Please note that because our Java Card operating system is now available for more than one silicon vendor, IBM will no longer act as a distributor for sample cards. If you require a sample card, you must now approach the silicon vendors directly . Our current silicon partners are Philips Semiconductor, Samsung and Sharp.    7. You should now see the JCOP Licensing Wizard

For those who are interested to use the JCOP simulator for a start, I have checked that the plug-in and feature files (in tools.zip) for Eclipse are still available at IBM site, please download and install yourself.
I still keep a copy of user guide for JCOP tools (version 3.1.1a) and the contents are still relevant to Version 3.1.1b simulator in tools.zip.

Could you please share the screen shot of the error message so that we can check and troubleshoot accordingly .
Is there any error number or code associated with the error message or it just says "unexpected error" ?
I would recommend you to try and install the Acrobat DC trial referring the following links .You could choose any of the following .Also make sure you disable all the third party software before you commence the installation .

I downloaded the 30 day trial for InDesign, Acrobat and Encoder on my new MacBook less than 24 hours ago, but when I tried to open InDesign just now, it said that my trial has expired. It worked perfectly this morning. Is there something I need to do to carry on with my 30 day trial before having to purchase?

I certainly understand your situation, however, unfortunately, we have no way of resetting a trial time.
Sometimes anti-virus or security software can interfere with the trial time. In order to get out of this situation I would like to make some possible suggestions.
You can try to install it on a different computer if you have a spare machine.
You can sign up for Creative Cloud and it is possible to cancel without penalty or charges within the first 30 days. You can get the full refund for the same as per subscriptions terms. for more info.check the below mentioned link.

Ok, Tom, I completed the first three steps and everything went fine. However, I still don't have a timeline, AND above is a screenprint of my timeline and what I presume is meant by the PROJECT. There is no project. Now, I can go up to the Event window and Export XML, but it doesn't give me a usable file. So, first, am I correct re: terminology - the timeline/bottom section is also known as the project folder/manager??
I've been reading other users strings as well and have tried their tricks as well. For instance, Eric Martin re: his deleting preference files (6/6), and Norman Jayo's (4/25) lengthy discourse with the "here is the work around" w/ 7 steps. Again, he mentions closing the PROJECT that is corrupted. I'm not sure that mine is corrupt as I can play and see my 15-minute audio/view in the view module (upper right).

Thanks but I have tried doing the above - when I said 7 times I was modest, its more like 15 times.
And I am referring to the 5.1 software update. I dont have wifi so I guess I will have to try that seeing that my husband also has the same problem - he has also tried downloading several times. It always times out en says that the connection is lost but yet there are always an internet connection and a decent signal once it stopped. Think it said error 32052 or something!
I am disappointed because the update includes inprovement on the battery life - did you guys notice any difference?
