Downloading BBC iPlayer files to Creative

Does anyone know if I can downloaded files from the BBC iPlayer and play them on my Creative Zen?
If so, what software do I need?
I've tried converting them in ZEN Media Explorer but it doesn't recognise them.
Many thanks
Mistymole

BBC iPlayer files are DRM protected - they are removed from your system after a set period of time.

  • Downloading InDesign book files from Creative Cloud files

    Gang,
I'm working on a project that has me using the Creative Cloud files to store the changes I make. I know I'm not using all of the features, but with my own personal account on two machines and my employers site license on the other, I end up using the browser version of Creative Cloud to upload and download files on my work computer.
When I download a book file (.indb), Creative Cloud and my browser seem to get confused as to what kind of file it is. Creative Cloud asks me and doesn't have an option for InDesign Book. When it downloads, it downloads as a .octet-stream file. I later go to Finder and change the extension to indb and life is good.
Is this a bug or a feature?

  • How to import BBC iPlayer files into my Nano?

I have a nano 5th gen. I'd like to take BBC iPlayer files and other video from my laptop and sync to the nano. Nothing seems to work and the tutorial only relates to video bought from iTunes. Is this a cunning ploy from Apple or am I missing something?

The BBC iPlayer files and video files need to be converted in order to play on your iPod Nano. iTunes can do this for you or a 3rd party utility.

  • Downloaded BBC iplayer programmes to my itouch

BBC iplayer now offers downloaded programmes in a format suitable for media players including the itouch. Downloaded to my HDD but how do I get it into my itouch? This is my first ipod in any form and the BBC help files merely state "transfer in the usual method" .. which is?
Drag and drop into any area of the itunes screen gives the 'not allowed' symbol.
How, in step by step stages, do you get the video file from the HDD into itunes (?) and then I assume sync puts it into the ipod.
Does it have to be in specific HDD folder to start with?

Yes, bottom right hand side of the screen is the option to download and then further options of "download to computer" or download to "mobile Media".
I haven't managed to find that. I've just checked the BBC website (again) about this and from what I can see, you still cannot download BBC programmes to play on the Touch.
You can access the BBC iPlayer, but that's inside the Safari browser, not standalone. You can download programmes (the BBC call it sideloading!) for +some but not all+ mp3 devices. The iPod family is not one of them - yet! See http://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co.uk/help/aboutiplayer/mobilephone.
So perhaps what you have managed to download is something that iTunes cannot handle - there are some videos that won't even "add to library" when you try.
Have you tried "add to library"? In your iTunes, click on *File/Add File to Library* and broswe through your folders to find the movie. Once it's added to yuor library, a Sync will transfer it to your iPod _only if the iPod can play it_ which isn't always the case.

  • HT3775 Can I play a downloaded BBC iplayer programme on my TV using Apple TV

Can anyone help? I want to play a BBC iPlayer downloaded TV program on my TV using my APPLE TV. Is this possible? Thanks for any help.

Airplay mirroring is the name for seeing a Mac screen on a TV via AppleTV 2 or 3.
A modern Mac running Mountain Lion (OS X 10.8+) is required - if not try AirParrot software.
    AirPlay Mirroring
Requires a second-generation Apple TV or later. Supports the following Mac models:
    iMac (Mid 2011 or newer)
Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer)
MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer)

  • Where Can I Download Offline Help Files for Creative Cloud?

The heading says it all. I am not always connected to the internet and, in any event, I find the on-line help annoying and tedious. I can only find PDF help files for CS4, where can I get them for CS6?

That is not off-line help, it is simply a PDF file full of links to on-line resources. It is next to useless. I want to be able to look at teh help document and get answers to questions, not links to answers.

  • Firefox prevented download of BBC iPlayer

I cannot download BBC iPlayer from their website. Firefox gives a message that such download will interfere with browser function.
I require this software to download podcasts for my 93 year old mother to reduce her boredom. It is necessary for any downloads outside the UK. These programs are for personal use only.

You need to upgrade to Snow Leopard which includes a more up to date version of Safari:
The OS 10.6 Snow Leopard install DVD is available for £14 from the Apple Store:
    http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard to bring it up to 10.6.8, or download the combo update from here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
Check via Software Update whether further updates are required.

  • How can I stop the N8 synchronising BBC iPlayer vi...

    Hello,
Each time I run the sync of Photos in OVI suite it synchronises all the BBC iPlayer videos I have as well as my personal videos. This is a problem because I might have five or six full 1 hour programmes at any one time so it has to sync over 1GB of data. The actual data I want to sync might only be 20 photos and a couple of new contacts which should take a minute
I was looking for an option to specify what videos to sync but it seems you cannot exclude the downloads folder from the sync. And in OVI suite you can only set the sync location (and not turn it off). This is mostly a bind because I have to go into My Videos and delete these files each time...
Does anyone know of an option to exclude BBC iPlayer files or a way around this?
    Thanks,
    Rob

    Hello,
Add an event structure to the while loop and catch the Panel close filter event, set the discard property to true. And exit the while loop via the condition node.

  • IPad (3rd gen) losing wifi connection during BBC iPlayer downloads

    Hi,
I am having a strange, app-specific problem with my iPad 3rd generation (wifi only, 64GB) running iOS 6.1.3.
When I use the BBC iPlayer app (version 2.0.5.33) to download a TV show to watch offline, my iPad almost always loses wifi connection a minute or two into the download, and it stays disconnected until I go into Settings > Wifi and select my home network again. If I resume the download in iPlayer, the same issue will typically recur within a minute or two.
I am not having any other connectivity problems with this iPad, and other sizeable downloads (e.g. from iTunes, from the App Store etc) are not having the same issue. Similarly, I can stream live BBC iPlayer content without issue - it is just the iPlayer downloads that seem to create this condition (which then effects the whole iPad / all other running apps).
I have tried to "forget this network", resetting network settings and restoring my entire iPad - none of these have stopped the issue. Interestingly, during restore of the iPad I received ugly BIOS-esque messages relating to AppleBCMWLANCore, which have disappeared after a hard reboot (power + home buttons together) - does this indicate a problem with the iPad hardware itself?
Anyone else experiencing something similar? Any suggestions to fix this? Or am I dependent on the BBC updating the app?
    Cheers,
    James

    Hey James,
I would try out standard third party application troubleshooting and see if that resolves the Wi-Fi issue. :
    1. Update your device software
    2. Check for app updates
    3. Install another app from the App Store
    4. Restart the application
    5. Restart your device
    6. Reinstall the affected application
For more info on each step, check out the full article:
iOS: Troubleshooting applications purchased from the App Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1702
If none of those steps work, then you would want to contact the developer of the application for further assistance.
    Regards,
    David

  • How can I download TV programmes from the BBC iplayer. Is there an app for ipad that does this?

I have an ipad 2. I have BBC iplayer. The programme stops and starts as the broadband cannot cope with the streming. The solution is to download the programme from the BBC iplayer and into the ipad 2 for viewing later without all that mucking about with the streaming bit.
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to download a programme from the BBC iplayer into an ipad 2? If there is an application that does this what is it?
    Many thanks to you all.

There is no iPad app to do this - the BBC's television license agreement wouldn't allow it.
There are desktop programs which will download programmes from BBC iPlayer which you can then sync to the iPad via iTunes, but technically they also operate against the terms of the iPlayer license. Google will help you find them.

  • File Sharing in Creative Cloud able to download or copy file

When I share a file on creative cloud and have the Allow file download box unchecked, the person I shared the file with can copy and paste the file to their computer.  Why is this?  I don't want the person I shared the file with to be able to copy and paste or download the file.  I just want them to be able to view the file.

Any file that can be "viewed" on the web can also be downloaded - officially or unofficially. That's just how browsers work and a fundamental principle of all things web. If you don't want that, you have to generate extra files for "viewing" at reduced quality and with watermarks or protect your files with proper encryption.
