Google is your friend (and so, presumably are the other search engines).  Searching for canson+profiles yielded Canson Infinity - ICC Profiles and Paper Presets.

  • Where is color sync located (not color utility) which is required to download icc profiles? Dolores

Where is color sync located (not color utility)?  I am downloading an icc profile from Ilford paper and the instructions say to first download into downloads, then move to Library.  This I did.  But I cannot find Color Sync to move the profile into.  When I did the "search" the list that turned up was not applicable. After that it needs to go to Profiles inorder that Lightroom 4 paper profiles list can receive it and be able to print according to the profile.  How will I find Profiles? Thanks, Dolores  P.S. I have successfully downloaded profiles before, but this time I am stumped.

Where ICC profiles live on different operating systems
    Windows 7, Vista and XP:
    \Windows\system32\spool\drivers\color
    Win98/Me - Windows/System/Color
    WinNT - WinNT/System32/Color
    Win2K- WinNT/System32/Spool/Drivers/Color
    WinXP - Windows/System32/Spool/Drivers/Color
On a mac, it's Library/ColorSync/Profiles either in the root or user
Epson places their profiles inside a package (a self- contained group of files) found in Main LibraryÆPrintersÆEpsonÆ SP2200.plugin*ÆContentsÆResourcesÆICC Profiles.

  • Maverks 10.9.4 lost some ICC profiles and cant download new Epson ICC

Just downloaded Maverks 10.9.4. and i can't print. reloaded epson 3880 print driver But I am unable to download the ICC profiles that seem to have gone missing. I want my ICC hot press natural BACK...help. Is it me or is it that Maverks thing???

    Do you have Time Machine enabled and have backups made before you upgraded to Mavericks?  If so do the following;
    1 - enter Time Machine.
    2 - go to the HD/Library/Printers/EPSON/InkjetPrinter2/ICCProfiles folder.
3 - go back in time till just before you upgraded to Mavericks.
4 - select all of the profiles in that folder (there were 176 in my folder) and click on the Restore button.
5 - have them replace any existing profiles in that folder.
6 - launch Disk Utility and repair disk permissions.
7 - try to print again.

  • "Could not complete the custom command because the ICC profile is invalid"

I got the above message when I attempted to soft-proof an image in Photoshop CC on Windows 7 64-bit.
I had downloaded the ICC profile from drycreekphoto.com, specifically:
    http://www.drycreekphoto.com/icc/Profiles/IccFiles/Arizona/Costco-AZ-Tucson-NW-Lus.icc
and installed it by right-clicking on the downloaded file and selecting "Install profile"
Windows installed the profile in the following directory:
    C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color
Then in Photoshop CC, I did
View -> Proof setup -> Custom
But when I selected the above profile from the dropdown list, I got error message
"Could not complete the custom command because the ICC profile is invalid"
Does this mean that the profile is really invalid, or am I doing something wrong?
FYI I am new to color management.  This was my first attempt to soft proof an image.

I can't quite figure out how it got that way - it has part of an ICC profile structure, but quite a bit wrong.  Even debugging tools can't read it as an ICC profile.
It's probably the one file - let drycreek/costco know so they can replace it.

  • Icc profile not showing up in Photoshop

hi- I downloaded an ICC profile from an online printer that I want to use in Photoshop CS3 so my images appear properly for their output. I placed it in Library/Adobe /Color/Profiles and restarted Photoshop but it does not show. What am I doing wrong?

Ramon look, if it says the downloaded ICC profile is shortrunposters.icc and you place it in the folder listed as such and it appears like that when you look at it in the folder and then when you go to the actual profile list (which happens to be over 100 profiles) and you don't see shortrunposters.icc where the heck are you supposed to look and what are you supposed to look for?
It turns out it is Xentilcle version3.icc now how would I or anyone else know that? The creator of the profile originally said "you need to go to an Adobe site to find out the problem because it isn't us", well excuse me I think it was their lack of identification of how the profile shows up.

  • ICC Profile vs Photoshop vs Image

    Hi guys,
First of all, please forgive my poor english.
I have as usual been through all the forum-reading, answer-searching stuff.
I've been having a problem with Photoshop color management since my last Windows upgrade to 7.
Colors just won't display the same in Photoshop and outside Photoshop.
I understand this has something to do with ICC profiles and applications being color managed or not.
I just downloaded an ICC profile supposedly corresponding to my monitor (there : mine is the Dell E228WFPc, but their icc is for the E228WFP http://www.focus-numerique.com/test-42/-telecharger-un-profil-calibre-pour-son-ecran-dell- 24.html I decided to try it anyway, and the colors look good...).
I don't know what makes photos not look the same inside of Photoshop. It's the case for all photographs, including those that I postworked before my reinstallation of Windows.
    What would you suggest ?
Thanks in advance for your answers.

Color-management is simply the process of interpreting the colors in an image per a given document color profile, then preparing them for proper display on a device using a given device color profile.  Profiles describe how color values are interpreted into real colors that we see.
Some of the first things to keep in mind with color-management are these:
Not all applications are color-managed.  Many do not look at your monitor profile, and almost as many don't even look at your document profile.
Given the above, colors can be expected to look different in images displayed by applications that ARE color-managed vs. those that ARE NOT.
So in your case Photoshop, which is fully color-managed, is using both your image profile and your monitor-specific profile (and assuming they're accurate) to determine how to display colors on your monitor. This is NOT being done AT ALL in some apps, and only HALF being done in others (e.g., IE9 interprets the document profile but assumes your monitor is sRGB IEC61966-2.1).
    You're seeing the differences.
Now, what's not a given is that your color profiles are accurately representing the color spaces of your document or display monitor.  You may have prepared your document properly using a particular color profile, but what steps have you taken to ensure your monitor color profile accurately matches your monitor?  That it's "the one" provided by the manufacturer may seem to be enough, but you don't really know what on-monitor settings or video card or cabling the manufaturer used to profile it, nor did they profile your particular copy.  In short, factory monitor profiles are notoriously inaccurate.
You can choose to go in one of three directions:
    1.  Assume your factory monitor profile is accurate enough and just keep everything as it is.
    2.  Purchase a profiling device, follow their process for calibrating / profiling your display, and be sure your profile is accurate.
    3.  Assume your factory monitor profile is INACCURATE, replace it with the standard default sRGB IEC61966-2.1 profile, and work to set your monitor controls and video card curves manually to make colors displayed with the sRGB profile and this monitor as accurate as possible.
The 3rd scenario actually has some advantages if you can accomplish it.

  • Icc profiles for HP photopapers

I have a Photosmart D7260 printer with HP Advanced and HP Premium Plus photopaper but the prints are always too dark.  I'm trying to get better colour rendition in prints and I'm exploring letting Photoshop Elements 8 control print output, but I need to download the icc profiles for these papers. I can't find them on the HP site.  Please avoid overly technical answers please.

    Hi @OregonKnight
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.  I see that you would like to know more about color profiles for your Envy 5530 printer.
I have included the Advanced Color Management for HP Next-Generation Inkjet Printing Products document.  It discusses ICC profile settings.

  • Can you help me open or access a Blurb ICC profile in Photoshop Elements 7 On a Winows PC ?

Hi. I am starting my first Blurb book and downloaded their Blurb ICC profile. I am using Photoshop Elements 7 to edit my photographs on my Windows PC.
When I select downloads, open with PSE 7, a window opens and says " Editor Photoshop 7    Cannot open Download / Blurb - ICC - profile icc because it is the wrong type of file". Any ideas would be appreciated.   Terry

Color profiles are installed via your system's color mangement options. This has nothing to do with Elements as such. Copy the file into C:\Windows\System32\Spool\Drivers\Color or use the graphics settings for your monitor or your printer options to add it.

  • Broken ICC Profile?

Photoshop is giving me a broken ICC profile message on a certain JPEG that was saved in CMYK color. Not all of the ones from the batch, just this one.
When I open it, I get an error about the ICC profile being broken, and Continue or Cancel. If I click Continue, I get a distorted RGB image (equivalent to opening a CMYK JPEG with Irfanview, for instance, or some other application not supporting CMYK).
Unfortunately I don't have the originals at the moment. Is there any way to fix the ICC profile, to make Photoshop recognize it as CMYK?

You must check that all your icc profiles are present in c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\color
The way to make sure everything is there is to download the ICC profiles from adobe at http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/thankyou.jsp?ftpID=4075&fileID= 3790
Once you've dowloaded the profiles check the RGB and CMYK folders and make sure that all the .icc files are present in c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\color
If any are missing you must unzip the downloaded file and copy the missing files over to c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\color.  Then restart PS.
If you suspect that a file may really be damaged/broken (as opposed to missing), you may want to replace that particular .icc file with the downloaded one.
This may work for both PS and LR since these ICC profiles are used by Adobe in various programs.

  • Cs5 does not read installed ICC profile

I uploaded an  icc profiles for an inkpress paper- Duomatte 80 to print with Epson 4900 printer.
The icc file is visible in  c:windows/system32/spool/drivers/color but when I open the image file in Photoshop, to print with “ Photoshop to manage color” ;  the  ICC profile : IP MATTE DUO 80-EPS 4900-7900-900 is not available to use. See screen shots attached:
I have windows 7 operating system, on a dell workstation T3500; 64 bit operating system and am using Photoshop CS5 system 12- 32bit.
Does anyone know what the problem is? And yes I restarted Photoshop and my computer several times after downloading the icc profile.

Perhaps it has several internal names have you look at what the windows control panel color magager shows. From your screen captures I see
IP MATTE DUO 80-ESP 4900-700-900 in your file list but not in the printer ICC list  and
IP MATTE 60-ESP 7900, 9900.icc in your Printer icc list but not in you file list

  • HT204135 Printing using ICC profiles

I have an Epson R2000, and am using Hahnemuhle paper. Have downloaded various ICC profiles and can see to nominate a specific profile with the chosen printer (R2000). After  pressing  "print",  the screen asks what preset I want to use. When I use the show details to see what is in the profiles they are all the same, and none show that I want to use a Hahnemuhle ICC. So how do I set up a new preset?. How in any case can I be sure the printer is in fact using the ICC profile nominated? Thanks for any tips.

    Hi
I'm new to Macs and also have a Pixma Pro 9000. When I used to use it with Photoshop CS2 on a PC I got used to turning off color management in the driver, but as you point out, this isn't an option in the Canon OS X driver.
What I have noticed, though, is when I select "photoshop manages color" in the Mac Photoshop CS3 Print dialog box, then delve into the Canon driver settings, Color Matching drop-down menu, although the options are greyed-out, ColorSync is the selected option.
Then, if I specify "printer manages color" in the Photoshop Print dialog box, when I go to the Canon driver Color Matching drop-down, though still greyed-out, it now has "vendor matching" selected.
This suggests to me that, in fact, the equivalent to the "do not color manage" option in the Windows Canon driver is "ColorSync" in the Mac driver. Maybe there is better communication between Photoshop and the Canon driver on the Mac than in Windows, so when you tell Photoshop (Mac) to control the color management it automatically sets the driver to the correct setting? This is all speculation, as I'm still new to the Mac way of doing things, but maybe try it and see what the results look like? (I usually use the Canon Easy Photo Print Pro plug-in anyway, but it would be nice to be able to control printing manually as well in specific circumstances)

  • Where can I download ICC profile for Canon paper?

    Hi,
I bought a new MacBookPro and suddenly the ICC profiles that used to be in my Canon Pixma Pro 10 are missing.  I'm specifically looking for: Canon luster, platinum, museum etching.  Can anyone point me to the right direction please?  Thanks.

I am having a similar problem.  I had previously printed on my new Canon Pixma Pro 10 to Canon Photo Paper Pro Luster from my MacBook Pro retina running 10.10.3.  I upgraded to Lightroom 6.  Now I do not have the ICC profile for the luster paper available under Color Management in LR6.  I downloaded and reinstalled the print driver but that didn't give me the profile.  All of the ICC profile downloads that I can find are for other vendors' papers.  The link in ssprengel's post takes me to the driver download page but it doesn't give me the Canon paper ICC profiles. Help.

    Hi,
I have this printer and can't believe their is no ICC profile supplied with it. I contacted HP via the website and received an automated response saying I should receive assistance within the hour. 5 days later with still no response I sent them a chaser, only to be told to call them on their US number. When I got through, the support guy new nothing about ICC profiles and then refused to talk to me because I was in the UK.
Way to go HP. Will. Not. Be. Buying. Your. Products. Again.
