Downloading contacts into automobile bluetooth phone book

When I went to sync my iPhone contacts with the bluetooth phone book in my Toyota Camry, I found I couldn't do it. I asked Apple Care, and they said it can't be done yet. Has anyone found an app or a way of doing this so I don't kill myself trying to make a call?

Yeah - can't be done as yet. I have a Lexus 2008 model & my solution was to copy all my contacts onto my old Nokia & then bluetooth them across to the Lexus - it works because the Nokia has a 'push' feature where u can select contacts on the phone & then 'send' them to another connected bluetooth device - the iPhone doesn't have this feature yet (not that I've been able to find).

TS3581 Transfering contacts to in car phone book via bluetooth

Hi I have recently bought the new nissan pulsar and its intergrated voice dialling only works through the cars phonebook.
Problem is I cant find how to transfer contacts from my iPhone 4S to the car. I have the menu open and ready on the car but can not find the option on my phone to transfer via blue tooth. This is a pretty standard feature on most cars these days so you would think you could do it with an iPhone.
Any suggestions/help?

The iPhone only supports PBAP(Phone Book Access Profile) for this. Does your vehivle support PBAP?

Contacts issues - send contacts to at&t phone book or sim card? and un able to unsync email contact list with phone contact list

I have had several issues with my contacts on this phone. I cannot figure out how to send my contacts to the at&t phone book or to my sim card. The options/menu button in contacts is completely useless. It should give me the option on the sim card to transfer contacts form one list to another. I have already written on another forum about the contact list not letting me unsync one of my email contact lists and how I have 3 copies of all of my contacts because my email contacts are mixed in with my phone contacts.
BB really needs to fix this issue with the contact list because it is beyond frustrating. I even downloaded the new BB software today and it still hasn't been fixed.

OK...so this post is strictly about wanting to send your contacts to the SIM. That capability is one at a time only. And there's a reason for that.
The BB Address Book is robust, allowing you to have one name with multiple phone numbers and addresses. The SIM phonebook, on the other hand, is much less capable...if, for instance, you have one contact with three phone numbers in your BB Address Book, the SIM phonebook would require three separate entries to contain the same data (with the obvious duplication of the name on three separate records).
So, I must ask...why on earth do you want to send your contacts to your SIM? There are much better methods for moving your contacts from the BB to somewhere else...

the thing is each time i sync my phone with the PC some of the contacts are Gone as my windows' address book is not updated as my phones.

bought a new 3gs i phone and updated it to IOS 5. unable to put any contacts into the contacts app. no + sign.

Many thanks Dieselvdub. Followed your advice to the letter and it finally worked. Unfortunately the contacts app had disappeared but looked on the forum and discovered it had been switched into utilities app.
Before your advice had been down to my local carphone warehouse shop who quickly said it was faulty and needed returning!!

How to import a contact into an existing address book? contact is exported from outlook.

I have created 3 address books. I want to import new contacts into these address books selectively.
I tried importing a contact that was exported from Outlook as a v card. It worked fine except that it created the new contact as yet another new address book!

Importing contacts does create a new address book. Then just drag and drop the contacts into the book of your choice and delete the new book when it is empty.

Can't find how to get iPad Contacts into new iMac Address Book

I've got a brand new iMac and if I look in the import feature of Address Book it wants to import from a file on my iMac but there's no iPad listed there even though it's plugged in. iTunes only seems to sync first time from iMac to iPad but all my contact details are on the iPad. Surely there is there some way to migrate my iPad Contacts to my iMac address book isn't there?

Data to and from your iPad is managed via iTunes. With your iPad connected to your iMac, open iTunes and then select the Info Pane. There you can choose to sync data. I would advise that you first right click on the name of your iPad in the iTunes Devices list and choose BackUp. Just in case anything goes funky!

The Info pane lets you configure the sync settings for your contacts, calendars, email accounts, and web browser.
• Contacts
You can sync contacts with applications such as Mac OS X Address Book, Yahoo! Address Book, and Google Contacts on a Mac, or with Yahoo! Address Book, Google Contacts, Windows Address Book (Microsoft Outlook Express), Windows Vista Contacts, or Microsoft Outlook 2003, 2007, or 2010 on a PC. (On a Mac, you can sync contacts with multiple applications. On a PC, you can sync contacts with only one application at a time.)
If you sync with Yahoo! Address Book, you only need to click Configure to enter your new login information when you change your Yahoo! ID or password after you’ve set up syncing.

When I use my phone book from my iPhone on my Audi the Audi thinks a number is an office number when it's clear on the iPhone that it's a home phone. To whom should I address this "bug?"

Apparently recent Iphone upgrades have resolved this. No longer an issue.

What is the best method for adding non-domain contacts into the Lync address book without Exchange

I have a large number of standards based video endpoints who we can route calls to form Lync via a third party application/infrastructure device (oh the day when Microsoft offer this bridge facility out of the box - but that's another story). They are not in
Active Directory (although I suppose I could add them as 'Contacts'), but wondered if there is a more preferred way to do this?

You should add them as Contacts to AD. All the information in Lync Address Book come from AD.
The Address Book Server uses data provided by User Replicator to update the information that it initially obtains from the global address list (GAL). User Replicator writes the Active
Directory Domain Services attributes for each user, contact, and group into the AbUserEntry table in the database and the Address Book Server syncs the user data from the database into files in the Address Book Server file store and into the Address Book database

I am trying to get my Iphone 4 with IOS 5 contact list to transfered to my 2011 Toyota Corolla Bluetooth phonebook. I keep trying to sent via blue tooth and when connected to the car but it will not transfer. What am I doing wrong and please give me directions how to fix it?

Delete the pairing from the car then re-pair the phone and try again. Sometimes that wil cure it

I have a new car that has bluetooth for handsfree phone. It will allow me to transfer my contacts to it but not sure how to make the phone do that.

Help!!! I have the same situation. I understand how to do the transfer based on the instructions on the screen (2009 Camry), but everytime I try to do the transfer, the connection to my Blackberry is lost. Do I have something set in my Blackberry that is preventing the completion of the transfer to the car Bluetooth? Any advice would be appreciated since I have struggled with this issue for several hours.
