Downloading Critical Patch Updates

Hello, I work for the USAF and have been trying to figure out how to get the actual Java Patch Updates for Java 6. Per DoD restrictions we do not allow automatic updates, and I need to download the actual patch update files and install them manually. Where can I actually download the patch?
I used the following link and am unable to find the actual method of downloading the patch:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/topics/security/javacpujun2013-1899847.html
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Don't really know. I assume you purchase extended support and then you can download all the non-public Java 6 versions which will have the latest CPUs included.
Maybe an Oracle person will read this thread and give a proper answer.
There is a price list, if you start at Oracle Java SE Support | Technologies then go to the support FAQ, then go to the global price list.

  • Cannot Download July 2012 Critical Patch Update for JRockit

    All,
    I am trying to download:
"Oracle Critical Patch Update Advisory - July 2012", particularly for JRockit. I keep running into what seems to be a database issue on Oracle's side.
The July 2012 Patch informational notes are at:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/topics/security/cpujul2012-392727.html
And I am trying to download the Fusion Middleware patch (as JRockit is included in Fusion Middleware, it seems like).
I go to download from the following URL, as stated in the July Patch Release:
    https://support.oracle.com/CSP/main/article?cmd=show&type=NOT&id=1455387.1
    and receive:
    Failure of server APACHE bridge:

    Appreciate any help.

  • Oracle Critical Patch Update Advisory - January 2013

    Hi all,
    11.2.0.3
Oracle Critical Patch Update - January 2013
I am confused about CPU, PSU, SPU, USP. I am reading the docs and it seems they are same thing being rambled?
Which of them is the most important to apply?
    Thanks,
    PetraK

    Thanks gotti and fahd
I already ask the support and he gave me docs to follow. But the more I am confused with lots of added process.
Can you validate if the process is correct? My Goal is just to comply with our IT Sec Auditor to apply the latest patch. The auditor does not even know what is the name of the patch as long as it the current updates. So I think he is referring to PSU or SPU or CPU.
This is the process I got from support:
1 Appy Oracle Database Patch Set Update (11.2.0.3.8)
1.1 Download and install latest RDA and run and send the output.
1.2 Download and install latest OPatch and list the current inventory.
        1.3 Check java version
1.4 Check and Resolve PSU conflict
1.5 Backup the current OracleHome as "root"
1.6 Stop Listener, EM, and all DB Instances
        1.7 Apply PSU
        1.8 Resolve errors if any.
    End.
So It seems I only need to apply PSU? which is 11.2.0.3.8?

  • Critical Patch Updates Apr 2007 for Oracle10g Database Express edition

    Hi,
When will Oracle10g Express edition which includes Apr 2007 critical patch updates will be available. We use Oracle10 Database Express ed for development purposes and as per Apr 2007 critical patch update Oracle on XP has a security vulnerabilities that needs to be fixed immediately.
    Thanks You,
    Sushil V. Tundalwar
    Ph: 513 979 9234

There are no CPUs for XE edition and the downloadable version is not patched either.
If security is an issue, you'll need to pay up for Standard Edition.
If it was the Windows-only issue from that CPU that is your concern, the other option is to go to XE on Linux.

  • Oracle Critical Patch Update July 2009 for Oracle BEA Releases

    Hi All,
Researching in metalink about CPU's for WLS 9.1 I found Oracle Support Note #835668.1. Table 9 of this document
lists minimum product requirements for WebLogic server.
According to this table WLS 9.1 should have a minimum version of 9.2MP3.
I am confident that WLS 9.1 and WLS 9.2 are completely different WLS versions and there is no upgrade path from WLS 9.1 to WLS 9.2.
Is this table misprinted or is it required to replace all WLS 9.1 installations with WLS 9.2 installations?
What is this table trying to indicate?
    Please assist.
    It would be very helpful.

Whenever I've encountered this problem, I've renamed the dll that had errors to dll.o. Not a good idea for rolling back, BUT for me there is no going back. :)
However, I found the following on MetaLink, you may want to give this a try.
The best way I have found to avoid these cannot write to DLL errors is:
    1. Download listdlls.exe from:
    http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/listdlls.shtml
    2. Shutdown all Oracle services in services panel
    3. reboot machine
    4. listdlls > todaysdll.txt
    5. grep -i "ora" todaysdll.txt
(If you do not have a grep utility [i.e. GNU web site] you can search the file with a text editor)
    6. If there are any hits, shutdown whatever program/service that owns it and repeat steps 4 & 5.

  • ALERT - Support for Java Critical Patch Update

ALERT - Support for Java Critical Patch Update
On October 15th, Java released a critical patch update (CPU) which will require download and upgrade to the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) release – 1.7.0_45.   If upgrading the JRE to this release, the P6 module (also known as Web Access) of the P6 EPPM product line and the Contract Management product, which utilize LiveConnect applets in the browser, will start generating one or more prompts.   To remediate these prompts for the P6 EPPM Web Access module and the Contract Management product, Oracle Primavera will be releasing fixpacks.   Until fixpacks become available, you can use the following workaround to suppress these prompts:  Select the 'Allow' Prompt or 'Yes' prompt for successful loading of applets.  Note: This prompt will occur for each applet.
For more information, please refer to the following KM Documents in My Oracle Support.
For P6 (Web Access), refer to KM Document ID 1591925.1
For Contract Management, refer to KM Document ID 1592535.1

I found the answer to my own question. For any newbies out there, if you create an account with Oracle, that is not enough to download patches. You have to have an Oracle Customer Support Identifier associated with your account. Once you have a CSI that you obtain through your employer who has paid for support or through some other means, you then can go into My Oracle Support and enter a request to be added to the given CSI. That request goes into a pending state until the administrator of the CSI grants you privileges to download patches. (NOTE: You might have to bug someone within your organization to get this to happen.) For me, once I was given the privilege, the link worked as it should.

  • Installing Critical Patch Update

    Hi All,
I need to Install Critical Patch Update Jan 2005 on my database server. I had never Installed it earlier so need to know what are the steps to be followed for the same. I checked with the readme available with the patch but nothing much is there about installation procedure.
Also can it be installed on Oracle 9.2.0.5.0 ?
    Thanks in Advanced
    Bhupinder

    Follow these steps:
Find your OS version & make, 32/64 bit architecture?
    Find your Oracle DB version.
Based on that find out which patches to be downloaded from Metalink.
With patch comes the readme, which provides step by step guide for patching. I don't understand why you said "..nothing much is there about installation procedure.." as it contains all steps in detail.
Mainly using opatch, you have 3 steps:
    1. Check with lsinventory about any previous patch implementation.
    2. Use "opatch apply" .. to apply the patch.
    3. You can rollback patches.. in case of any error.
Also check any Pre-requisites for a particular patch.
If you didn't use it before, you have to download latest opatch utility, which is available in Metalink.

  • Oracle Critical Patch Update  - July 2008

    Hi All,
How I can get the information about bug fixed in Oracle Critical Patch Update - July 2008?
    or send me any link...
    Thanks..

Well, it all depends on which specific release you are talking about. CPU's are provided for Oracle 9iR2 (9.2.0.8.0) up to the latest available oracle version. They are also available for other non RDBMS oracle products.
If you want to get information about CPU's you may take a look at this reference: --> Oracle Critical Patch Update Advisory - July 2008, from this point on you can drill down to find out information about your specific oracle version.
This information is publicly available and up to this point you don't need a support contract to review this information. Support contracts are required when you plan to download the specific patch pointed by the CPU document, and it depends not only on the Oracle release, but also on the particular OS platform.
