Downloading CS3 Design Premium
I have paid license for CS3 Design Premium (with Serials) and need to re-downlaod installation software to move to a new machine.
I believe this process needs to be completed with the adobe Help Manager...Can anyone give me some guidelines as to how to do this? I have downloaded the Help Manager, but it is not clear as to how you facilitate any download processes.

and activate with your serial number.
if you have a problem downloading, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com

I still have the installation disc, but it is stored away somewhere really good. Anyway, I have the serial number and figured if I download a trial version I can just upgrade it using that. Trouble is when I go to the download link I'm greeted by:

If the page you linked does not work then it should so what happens when you try? It is possible that it might be a simple matter of you enabling cookies or trying another web browser.

Mac harddrive crashed. Can't start download of CS3 Design Premium
I have lost access to my CS3 design premium suite because the drive on my MacBookPro crashed. I have the serial number but when I click for the download it doesn't work, doesn't ask for the serial number. Just a dead end. How can I get CS3 back on my Mac?

Trying to load CS3 Design Premium on a new machine; it's blocked by system check.
I'm trying to load CS3 Design Premium on a new laptop. The system check is preventing InDesign from loading. It inaccurately indicates I don't have great enough resolution. Does anyone have a workaround?
I have a PC running Windows 7 OS.
I've done the following:
Adjusted the resolution to maximum resolution and also to the value Adobe recommends. Both without success.
Used Adobe cleaner, restarted, and tried to reload. No luck. InDesign and Illustrator are still prevented from loading due to resolution ((1024 X 768).

I've installed it on two CS3 win 7 machines with wide-screens without incident. Are you running the installer from disk or a download? The CS3 installers was pretty finicky, as I recall, and you may need to perform a "clean boot" to get it to work. I recently got a new computer and transferred programs over to it (it's a Mac Pro). But now my Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional application no longer works so I need to reinstall. (Acrobat 8 originally was bundled with CS3 Design Premium.) I no longer have the disks for these programs, so I downloaded the CS3 Design Premium from Adobe's website. Upon opening up the .dmg file and starting the install process, I'm prompted with an "Install Error" telling me: "Please insert Adobe Photoshop CS4 to continue installation." I do not have a disk for PS CS4. How do I continue the install??

-KristineTransferring files between machines doesn't work for Adobe applications. You should uninstall anything you transferred over and use the cleaner tool for it. Then download and install the CS3 suite as a whole.

I purchased the download version of CS3 Design Premium 3 years ago. I backed up the program to a DVD-R and my external hardrive. My computer crashed and I found was unable to install from my back up copies but was able to download it from adobe.com and installation from the downloaded files went smoothly.
When I reinstalled the suite on my Windows Vista Business HP Desktop, however, I decided not to install Dreamweaver. I just tried to install it now. All was going well until I was prompted to insert the CS3 Design Premium installation disc. I inserted the back up disc I made (no other files on it) and the message box won't budge.
All the CS3 components are working great on my system, I just would like to add Dreamweaver. I also would like to protect myself should the download link become unavailable in the future (right now I'm downloading the suite to my computer). Plus it'd be sweet not to have to wait 3 hours to download each time if possible.
So my question is could someone please assist me in making a backup of my software that works so I can reinstall the suite or individual programs in the future?

Update: I signed into My Adobe and downloaded CS3 to my desktop, unzipped files, and proceeded to install a few components (after deactivating CS) and the same thing happened - Please Insert Adobe CS3 Design Premium to Continue Installation. I have legal copy of this software that was nearly 2,000, and I can't seem to find any solution after searching for hours on end. I've considered buying an upgrade (the box/disc version) but I'm not sure I'd be able to upgrade if I can't get CS3 to move beyond this error message. I appreciate your taking the time to write. I have the files backed up on a 500GB WD Passport. I also burned the files on cd and dvd. You hit the nail on the head with the installer getting hung up on searching for "the magic key." Thanks for the advice re more damage than good re installing separate apps. Too bad it was listed an option if it doesn't truly work. Otherwise I would have installed everything on my system the first time round. Helpful to know know for the future..
My concern about uninstalling everything is that I may run into the same issue during installation. As mentioned prior, I was able to reinstall my software after my computer crashed but only from the download link on adobe.com. Yesterrday an adobe rep told me that the link to my purchased download is only active for 3 years. I purchased my software in March 08 and the link allowed me to download just fine but his comment concerned me. Do you know if Adobe has any plans to deactivate links for prior purchases?
I plan on upgrading but believe I will need access to my original software for the upgrade to work. Or does one get a full copy of the software when upgrading to CS 5.5 with a valid license? I know that my Intuit and Microsoft Suite products work that way.

CS3 Design Premium 3.3 upgrade
Did anyone notice Adobe now offers Fireworks CS3 in the CS3 Design Premium 3.3 upgrade (in addition to Acrobat 9)? That's very cool (though it should have been included in the suite to begin with IMHO)!

We have to wait until June 24 to get it (download or CD). I can wait for Acrobat, but I'd like to start using Fireworks CS3 now.
I have an expired Fireworks CS3 install on my MacBook Pro and was hoping, since I just purchased it, I could use my existing CS3 serial number to activate it. No dice.
It looks like I'll have to wait for an updated serial number when the upgrade becomes available.

What I did notice is that the Web Edition of CS3 is no longer visible; did that get phased out? And can I still use my CS3 Web Edition to upgrade to the newer CS3 that includes Acrobat 9?
The main reason I went with the Web Edition was due to the inclusion of Fireworks, which I also think should have been with the Design..... especially if Adobe was planning to phase out the web suite. -
I have cs3 design premium installed on my machine, but when i upgraded to snow leopard, it corrupted my indesign. I did all the updates and it still didn't fix it like adobe and apple said it would. SO, is there anyway I can get the installer for my cs3 design premium. I have my serial codes, but I don't have the disks.

Upgrading from CS3 Design Premium to Illustrator CS6 standalone

I have Adobe CS3 Design Premium (I think-- it's one of the complete suites that includes Illustrator CS3). My license is an Education license. I also own Photoshop CS6 (standalone) with an Education license.
I'm wondering if i can purchase an upgrade to the standalone (not Creative Cloud) version of Illustrator CS6, at the Education price? If so what would the price be and how would I purchase it?

Installing update to CS3 Design Premium
I had to replace a hard drive and start again. My old one ran Mac OSX 10.4.6, now the new one runs 10.5.6 (Leopard). I had no problem re-installing Adobe CS3 Design Premium from the original disks, but when Adobe Updater later came on to update the whole thing, a message box said it would take two and a half hours or so. It's been more like 16 hours, and I finally told it to quit. It seems to hang on Adobe Illustrator update 13.0.1, after having gone through a good deal of the updating. Once during the process, I quit and had it begin again when the computer was restarted. It then began with that Adobe Illustrator update, and went for hours, not seeming to get anywhere. I do seem to be able to run all the programs, but I'd like to think I could get the updates. Any suggestions?
by "update manually" I assume you mean update the specific program
with a specific update file for that program, rather than the entire
update suite download & install. funny to think anything is "manual"
on the computer. get inside there and move the bytes around by hand,
but I think I'm too big for that. (just being playful here). I
actually tried doing the Illustrator 13.0.2 update (I'm currently
running 13.0) by itself, and it didn't even begin to work. Now I'm
trying the 13.0.1 by itself, and the first thing that came up is
"Installing: FlattenS," whatever that is -- but after 15 minutes now,
the bar hasn't even begun to fill in with any progress actually
happening. I did get ALL other updates to the creative suite 3 design
premium installed. So it's only Illustrator. I've also tried with
"root user" enabled and with "root user" disabled. Any other ideas?
