Downloading docs. pc to mac

I'm sure there is someone who can help me with this. I need to complete forms online from a pc based system and download to print off hard copy.
When I try this my imac OSX10.2.8 doesn't recognise the application.
I have tried saving in various ways but nothing works.
What if anything can I do. Or would upgrading to Tiger help. Someone suggested this to me and said I would also need to increase memory.
At the moment I am wondering if I should just go back to pc or new intel mac.
Sorry i'm such a novice.

Viewing a file online, NOT downloading it to my MAC

Is there a setting in Safari that will allow me to just view a document or file from a website without downloading it to my Mac?

If i sign out of iCloud will I lose photos and docs off my Mac?

I am in the process of changing my email address which means changing my AppleID. In 'how to change your ID' you are meant to sign out of iCloud. I get warnings that if I sign out any docs, photos etc which have not been imported will be deleted from my computer.
how do i know if they have been imported and I won't lose them?

They will still be in iCloud. Provided you are signing back into the same account (just with and updated email address) and not changing accounts, your data will download back to your Mac when you sign back in.
You might want to make sure your my photo stream photos are imported to iPhoto before signing out. To do this, open iPhoto, control-click on the My Photo Stream album and choose "Import". If it says "Show in Library" instead of Import, they have already been imported to your library.

All you need to do is go to System Preferences > App Store and uncheck the automatic install of updates box, then download the Mavericks installer, and copy to a flash drive. You will need a flash drive of 8 G B or more since the installer is around 5.3 GB. The installer will be in Finder > Applications. You can then copy that flash drive installer to the Applications folders in all the Macs you have that are capable of running Mavericks, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5842.
When the installer runs, the last step in the installtion is for the installer to erase itself. So makng a copy before the installer runs is essential if you want to avoid redownloading.
Installing from the same installer does not cause problems for Macs on the same network.

How do I delete photos from an external hard drive before downloading to my new Mac?

I have a Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex external hard drive that has all my photos from my old computer on it Because there are thousands, I want to delete a bunch of them before downloading onto my new Mac. However, when I click on the photos, they say "locked." Once I have the photos trimmed down, how do I get the to download to my Mac?

I didn't see this update come up in "Software Update"
If I was not meant to install this update, would it cause ANY damage at all to my mac ( this is my second as I dropped the first )
If I were to re-install ML would this fix any errors that this may have caused ?
The bottom of the page I link to says:

What does the additional "B" mean?

It's somewhere between almost impossible & impossible to install the wrong EFI Update with all the checks it does!

Hi, Hugo,
In similar cases it helped to remove the GarageBand "Preferences" file from the User Library.
Open the folder
your home folder > Library > Preferences
and move the file "com.apple.garageband.plist" to the Desktop.
Then try again to launch GarageBand.
