Downloading email in Outlook for Iphone 5
I have a new iPhone 5 and have 36K emails in my Outlook. It's attempting to download them all. Is this a problem? My phone is set to only see 50 emails so I thought it would only download the most recent 50.
The setting you refer to is a show the most recent messages in a selected mailbox, not a message download setting.
The iPhone's Mail app isn't downloading anything from Outlook. If the account is a POP account, all received messages that remain at the incoming mail server will be downloaded as new and unread messages. The same when creating an existing POP account with any email client.

Just downloaded the new OS for IPhone. Despise the appearance. It has jacked with the way I like things in some unacceptable ways. Is there any way to keep the OS, but return to the old appearance? Important to know BEFORE I download OS for computer.
I know I am responding to my own thread, but I an SOOOO disgusted with Apple right now.
The new iOS 7 was the lead story on CNN today... and it wasn't positive. Easy to see why, it's a graphics disaster. It is ugly, difficult to read, doesn't interface aesthetically with the iPhone 4S, and gives everyone in America vertigo. Either fix the appearance, or find some way to allow us to roll back to our previous iOS. Do so quickly, or this life-long Apple customer [circa 1978] will be moving on. If this represents shades of what is coming with OS Maverick, I am petrified. Further, I am a GM of a chain of newspapers and websites in the Austin, Texas area. I will be ripping out a scathing editorial. The notion that we can't roll back from something millions of us hate is despicable. I'm giving you one week. Be sure I am not alone. -

You can create an Apple ID without a credit card by following this guide exactly: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534. Note that you have to start by downloading a free app, then create the ID.

Yes, due to Incomplete Software Update on your iPhone your Device is now in Recovery Mode and you cannot take a Backup now. But if you have taken a backup earlier then you can Restore that backup on your iPhone after you Reset your iPhone to Factory Settings.

1. If you downloaded it for free the first time it should then be free for you forever to re-download and update.
2. If the app is no longer on the store then you cannot re-download it, I suggest you save an extra copy of the one you already have. I know I backed up my precious phonesabre.
3. Updating/installing directly on the iPhone has always gone fine for me. I didn't know there were issues. -

I have a requirement to trigger email to outlook for approved notifications. Wheneever there is a PM notification created by any employee, it has to go to approval to his supervisor and once he is approved, the maintenance can create a WO to proceed. How would I acheive this. I know it can be done thru workflow but wanted to check whether I can leverage extended notifications for this function. If yes, what would be the steps. I did configured the extended notifications and set up the background job SWN_SELSEN but nothing has been triggered. How do system know to pick the pending notifications from IW29 ? is it from variant ? please help me to figure out the right way of doing this.
Mahee.It's not an standard option, you should develop an ABAP function to send email according the User Status and System Status changes defined for the work orders. You should start with status validations in work orders using tables JEST, TJ30T and TJ02T, starting from AUFK-OBJNR. And for Notifications with table QMEL. Identify a user exit and use this code to send the email:

Additionally, Workflow provides a more complex functionality for this.

I have had a similar problem, except all of my text messages are gone too! My contacts have slowly started to come back, but it appears that my most recently added contacts are gone, and my messages are also gone still.

When my laptop is shutdown, I can see and access email on my iPhone. But, the email on iPhone disappears after I download the email to Outlook on my laptop.It sounds like you have a POP account, which is designed for accessing from one computer.
An IMAP account allows for access from many computers/clients. -
Pop Email In Outlook and iPhone
My manager switched from an AT&T iPhone to a Verizon iPhone (company switched carriers). It used to be when he checked his POP3 in Outlook, it would still download to his phone but it would show as read. If he hadn't yet read the email in Outlook, it would show as new/unread on the iPhone. I'd like to get his set back to that for him. Any suggestions?

I would have just thought in terms of logic that an email message is simply a file and that once it is downlodaed to one device, it could be "copied" (synced) with any other device, just as i would back up my data to a hard drive for instance. I don't really care about the server at this stage, I just want to able to access my eamil on the go, but use my PC as my main interface.
