In the upper left hand of the screen a pop up showing " firefox 3.6.13 available". In the process of down loading it keep ask to close fire fox when there is no fire fox open.

dunno why the close button(cross)is missing in your application, because it's visible in mine.perhaps u should uninstall FF, and download a completely new setup from the site, then run it.When i downloaded the setup the first time,my FF crashed and the monitor displayed that the files were corrupt.So i downloaded the setup again from chrome, and now it's working perfectly, with the close tabs button available.
If that doesn't work, switch to Chrome for a few days, until FF4 becomes popular and there are more people using it.Mozilla will surely release a good version then.

If you have an iPhone and have it set to keep the normal photo when shooting HDR photos the two image files that are created will be duplicates in a manner of speaking (same image) but there are only twp apps that detected the iPhone HDR and normal photos as being duplicates: PhotoSweeper and Duplicate Cleaner for iPhoto. None of the other apps detected those two files as being duplicates as they look for file name as well as other attributes and the two files from the iPhone have different file names.
iPLM, however, is the best all around iPhoto utility as it can do so much more than just find duplicates. IMO it's a must have tool if using iPhoto.

Is it a link to a website, where you can download the album that he has purchased for you, as a gift? I would expect instructions to be provided to you, telling you what to do. (Note, a link to a digital album, or album. Not a CD.)
If he did the above, where did he purchase this album? (If "it" asks you to download iTunes, that suggests that it was the iTunes Store.)
Did he simply try and send you songs he has in his iTunes Library, that he purchased on his account, for his Library (not yours)?

No, iLIfe is a suite of applications: iMovie, iPhoto and GarageBand (earlier versions of the suite also contained iDVD ad iWeb).

Download file keeps asking to save although "Do this automatically for files like this from now " is checked

After downloading a open office document from a server I always get the question to open or to save it. I checked to open the file after downloading it to a tempory map.
After downloading another open office document I always get the same question even when I checked "Do this automatically for files like this from now ".
Is there a possibility to get rid of the question?

"Once you have made a selection, checking the box "Do this automatically for files like this from now on." will cause the file type and action to be displayed in the Applications tab as shown below (in this example the selected application is TextEdit)."
FF works like described in the quote but nothing about immediately opening the file with the specified program. I've tested several possibilities but I always get the question what to do before opening the file. The "automatically"-option doesn't work for open office.
Any other suggestions?

Cannot download apps, keep asking me to agree new terms

I am trying to download skype for ipad through iTunes for windows (10.7.0.21). However after I entered my password, it jumped to the page saying I need to agree the new terms and conditions and privacy policy.
I checked the "I have read" checkbox and clicked on "Agree" button, but I got stuck here. The very same page is showing up again and again.
Anyone have any ideas?

It's happening on ALL my devices. iPhone 4, 5, iPad 3, iPod 4th gen & my iMac 27"! It's also happening on my brother's iPhone 4S. It's obviously affecting most everyone if not everyone.

Downloaded apps keep asking to be installed

Hi all, it seems that everytime I try to open a non-native app, like Google Chrome or Evernote, I get the installation dialogue box. Then, even more strangely, the app shows up as a "disk" in my Finder and can be "ejected" like a flash drive or something. In practice, it's not more than a minor annoyance, but I'd really like to stop this from happening because it's super frustrating. Any advice?

Are you actually installing these apps by dragging their icons onto the Applications folder alias (at the bottom of the window in this example) or are you just dragging the .dmgs you've downloaded into your Applications folder and launching the apps by double-clicking on the icons in the .dmg files you've downloaded? If the latter, then that's your problem.

As others have noted, this is a classic kernel panic (KP) and should happen with a new machine. AppleCare's Express Lane. Do note that if you're within 50 miles (80 KM) of an Apple repair station, you're eligible for onsite repair since yours is a desktop machine.

I just downloaded firefox onto my mac and it keeps asking me to add the same website.

So i just downloaded firefox onto my computer and followed all the interactions to get it working. Well apparently i can't open any webiste because it keeps asking me to add the same website over and over again. it will even be the same "secure website", ill add it and nothing will happen expect it will keep asking me to add it. Ive tried fixing preferences but i don't understand why it's not working my other internet source is working just fine.

I downloaded Firefox 7 but it keeps asking to upgrade my foxfire.

Remove "MacKeeper" as follows. First, back up all data.
"MacKeeper" is a scam with only one useful feature: it deletes itself.

How can I download Firefox when it keeps telling me to close Firefox before downloading?

yes I am. windows isn't giving me any prompts other than the original one authorizing firefox to run the installation program before the download starts then part way into the download firefox asks me to reboot so the download it starting then it tells me I can't finish the download because I have to reboot because of a previous uninstall that needs to complete so when I reboot it should finish the installation but it doesn't and then when I try the download again I get the same thing again like it's stuck in a loop

Unless you had problems with an update, one
method would be starting with Firefox 4 to use
"Alt" > Help > About Firefox > "Check for update" or "Apply Update".
You can have updates automatically checked and
wait for your approval or install them through
Tools > Options > Advanced > Updates
Or to instead use your download, if that is what you actually
have. "Ctrl+J" to bring up downloads, start the install,
then when the install starts bring down Firefox with
File > Exit or the "Firefox" button > Exit, and use
the Task Manager's Process tab to make sure Firefox.exe
if not running -- also make sure the plugin container is also
not running. then
When reinstalling Firefox from a download, Firefox must be down once the installation starts (already mentioned). When the installation finishes, don't let the install start firefox for you. Instead end the install and start Firefox in your normal manner, thus preventing creating a new profile which does not have your bookmarks cookies, etc (but your old profile would still be around and would).
