Downloading from PC to Ipad

I want to download directions from a disc to my PC and then to my Ipad.  Can this be done?

Are the directions in pdf format? I assume that they probably are. If so yes you can do that. The easiest way for you to do it - IMO - would be to email the file to yourself (after you copy it onto your PC) and then you can open in it in the mail app on your iPad.
You can also open pdf files and save them in iBooks - iBooks is a free download in the App Store if you do not already have it on your iPad.
If you have other questions about this post back.

Make sure that you are signed into the correct ID in Setting>iTunes and App Stores>Apple ID. If you use iTunes Match, you have to disable it on the iPad before you can sync your music.

  • How can I save the .mp4 files downloaded from internet to ipad memory so that I don't have to download everytime to view them again

How can I save the .mp4 files downloaded from internet to ipad memory so that I don't have to download everytime to view them again. Also they might remove them from internet so I can't rely on the bookmark to them.

I'm trying to send home movies to my 10 year old nephew who lives across the country. He doesn't have a computer. He has an iPod touch. His parents have computers. But I don't want everything I ever try to have him do result in "you need your parent's computer for this." It's getting really embarrassing. I have converted my family over to Apple computers but now they want to buy iPhones, iPads, and iPods even though I tell them to go Android. It took a decade to convert them away from windows now I'm trying to keep them away from these freedom limited iOS devices and they won't listen. Then it becomes my responsibility to make their iPads print to their fancy pre-airprint color laser jet printers, get home movies onto them, and countless other things. It's driving me nuts.
I have converted these files to a format that the iOS devices will play directly off of dropbox. Now, how do I get the infernal devices to save it instead of play it?

  • Can't see movie downloaded from iTunes on iPads

Hi. I purchased two movies from iTunes via AppleTV, then downloaded them to my iTunes library. I can see and play them on my computer, but they don't show up in the "shared" tab of the Videos app on either of our two iPads. I've tried force-quitting and restarting the Videos app, turning the iPad on and off, and resetting the iPad; I've quit and restarted iTunes on the computer. Nothing has helped.
All the other movies in the library appear, including others I've purchased and downloaded from iTunes, but not the ones I downloaded today.
    Running OS X 10.8.1, iTunes 10.6.3, and iOS 5.1.1.
    Help?
    Thans.

Ah. iPad 2 can't play 1080p content. Got it. Sorry for the noise.

  • Very Slow Downloading from iTunes on iPad Mini

    Hello:
Having just spent almost £550 on a wifi & cellular 64 gb iPad mini, I thought I was getting something that was state of the art !
However, I discover that the very first movie I pay for and want to download using my wifi connection from iTunes simply will not download on to my iPad mini in anything that one would expect to be a reasonable time.  As I write it is Sunday evening and the  iTunes download indicator is telling me it will be over 36 hours until I finish downloading this 3 gb movie !
Using the same wifi connection and within a few minutes after giving up with the iPad mini I am able to download the exact same movie on to my MacBook Air in under 30 minutes.
So, I conclude this has nothing to do with the my wifi download speed or anthing else, other than the fact that the iPad mini connection simply does not work at anything approximating to an acceptable standard.
The reason I have purchased the 64 gb iPad mini is so that I can download movies and watch them when travelling. It looks like this is not going to be possible if it is going to take hours and hours to download each movie !
So, other than some kind of self-administered help (which I would be happy to hear about if anybody has solved this problem for themselves), and after having spent a great deal of money on an item which is advertised as being iTunes compatible and being sold as something to watch tv and movies on, I wonder if Apple has yet twigged this glaring inadequacy and are thinking of doing something about it ?
After all, I have spent a lot of money on something that is not doing what I had expected it to do and which it is advertised as being able to do.
Please help me out, Apple, or I might have to return this to you and ask for my money back.  Or go to Trading Standards about misleading advertising ?  I mean it is wifi, it has iTunes, it has Videos - but I can't really use them in any acceptable way.  Why would I spend all that money for something that doesn't do what it says on the can ?
    Thanks.
    Chris

  • How is it possible to cancel (not suspend) a video download from iTunes Store (iPad under iOs 6)? (I do not have sufficient storage space on my iPad)

    Hi,
I am facing the following difficulty with my iPad (model MD369NF/A) under iOs 6.1.3.
I have bought 2 videos on iTunes Store, but I do not succeed in downloading them: an error message mentions that iPas does not have enough storage capacity.
As a matter of face, when I look at the way the storage is used, I find “Others” for around 10 Go (is there some king of reserved space for the downloading of videos from iTunes Store?), and only a very small number of Mo available.
I would simply like to cancel the downloading of the 2 videos, and hope that it would free the "Others" storage space (in the hypothesis that "Others" is space reserved for videos once downloaded), but I do not manage to do it. I can suspend the downloading, but I do not see how to cancel it.
Would you have a solution to propose ?
Thanks in advance for your help,
    Nicolas

    Hey Nicolas36,
Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
The following article outlines issues with free space, capacity, and a large amount of "other" space. You'll want to connect your iPad to your computer with iTunes to follow the steps:
iOS: 'Not enough free space' alert when trying to sync
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1503
One symptom of this issue will be displayed in iTunes where the Capacity indicator for the iOS device will report a large amount of "Other" disk usage for the device. To resolve this issue:
    - Turn off the music or photo sync option in iTunes for the device.
    - Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
    - Turn the music and photo sync options for the device on again.
    - Click Apply again to try to sync the device to iTunes.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • Movie Won't Download from iTunes on iPad

I recently purchased two movies from iTunes using a gift card I got for Christmas. I started the download and once the first movie got too about 3.2 GB of 6.2' it stopped and started over for no apparent reason. I tried multiple times to download both movies with no luck the first 24 hours. Was hoping to have it for my flight for my vacation. Over the course of the next three days I have tried downloading the first movie at least 15 times on various WiFi networks, It always begins the download and then either restarts it on it's own or now gives me an error message saying the movie cannot be downloaded at this time, please try again later. I finally got the second movie to download after 10 attempts, but still no luck with the first. I know for certain I had a continuous WiFi connection every time. I am EXTREMELY frustrated at this point. I still have remaining dollars to spend from my gift card, but figure why even bother? I really hope someone can give me an idea which works. So far I have deleted the beginning download on multiple occasions and also tried restarting after this 4 times and nothing seems to work.

I have been having this problem since iOS 7 released.  I have a 32gb 3rd gen iPad.  I seem to have some artificial cap of 7 items from iTunes on my iPad at once.  Even with 6 movies I have 5.8gb left.  I only download the SD versions.
As soon as I hit 7 movies/tv shows on my iPad downloads fail almost 100% of the time.  They get near the end, freeze and then loop.  Ocassionally I'll get a "Unable to download" error but most times it just keeps going over and over.  Not only do I have this extremely annoying issue, but during this problem my iPad becomes nearly unusable.  While downloading, my iPad runs so poorly I'll open my cover or press the wake button and the screen will remain off.  I can press both buttons, open/close the cover and NOTHING.  It will stay like that for a minute sometimes.  IF it becomes usable apps will take 30 seconds just to open/close, scrolling is unresponsive for many seconds at a time and then scrolls all at once.  It almost as if the download is using all of the CPU's power.
I have 253 movies I've bought in iTunes.  I own 6 Apple TV's, 2 Retina Macbooks, 1 iMac, 2 iPads and 2 iPhones.  iTunes works great on all of those devices minus my iPad.  My wife's, which is the same model minus a cell connection is fine.  I am extremely annoyed with this problem.  I've started to loathe using my iPad and thats just rediculous.
If anyone has suggestions I'm all ears, I've tried these fixes:
Erased all content/settings and restored from iCloud Back up
Erased all content/settings and restored but DID NOT use iCloud back up. (I did notice downloads worked great for the first few weeks, then went to crap.)
Tried force restarting the iPad when its acting up
Used my Time Capsule's Wifi - No change
Used my guest network from my Netgear router - No Change
Used my parent's wifi today - No change.
This doesnt seem to be a widespread problem, I've had trouble finding help on these forums.  Apple is constantly silent and most other users never reply with the same problem.  I'm close to giving up and getting a replacement from Square Trade.  I will not buy a new iPad less than two years after getting that one, mainly out of protest.  I have little confidence in the Air doing much better or lasting longer than this current one.

  • Can't download from iTunes on iPad mini

Does anyone know why I can't download anything from iTunes on my wife's iPad mini? Works perfectly fine with App Store downloads, and her iPhone 4 is downloading fine. I have done a complete restore of the iPad mini, and she only uses one apple ID, but still no luck!

If you restored your iPad as new, and it still didn't help, I don't know if anything in here will help. in any event, I have posted this boilerplate of suggestions many times in the past and the suggestions in here have worked for others at one time or another. Feel free to give them a try.
    1. Tap the "waiting" icon and see if you can pause it. If it does pause, then tap it again and see if it will resume. If that works, repeat the same steps for each "waiting" icon.
    2. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    3. Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. If you see a downloads tab in the lower right corner, then there is a download in iTunes.
    4. If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
    5. You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again. Apps may also be able to be deleted in Settings>General>Usage>Storage if you cannot get the X to pop up on the icon.
    6. You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
    7. Reset your router. Unplug it from power for about 30 seconds and then plug it back in again.

  • Not able to download from iTunes on iPad 4

I have tried several times to download movies and Tv series  on my new ipad from iTunes but I always get a message error. I have never experienced this problem on my iPhone, MacBook or my old iPad ? What should I do. The download start and at the end I always receive the same message that the episode couldn't be downloaded, retry later. I have tried with 3 different Wi-Fi sources...

I get the error message that the playlists designated to be updated no longer exist.
while the ipod is connected and showing up in your itunes sourcelist, go "edit > preferences" and click on your "ipod" tab.
you currently have "automatically update selected playlists only" engaged in there. scroll through the list of playlists in there, comparing them with the playlists that show up in your itunes sourcelist. if you find any that no longer exist in your itunes sourcelist, uncheck them. click OK.
for more information about the playlist you deleted, see:

  • First time itunes download from pc to ipad

How do I download my itunes library from my pc to my new Ipad for the first time?

Connect the iPad to your computer and select it on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, and then on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which is Music - select that tab and you can then chose which of your iTunes library to sync to the iPad's Music app. If you've already bought/downloaded any content directly on the iPad then do File > Trasnfer Purchases first so that they get copied over to your computer's iTunes
