Downloading Government Grants

Can you help me with this download problem? I am trying to download a grant document from the website www.grants.gov.  I have Adobe Reader 11 installed. When I try to download the grant document, the system tells me I need Adobe Reader 9.0 ore higher installed, and does not allow me to access the grant document.  I have updated my download for Adobe Reader, however I still cannot access the grant document.  I also have Desk PDF Creator installed.

Most likely you are using a browser that uses its own (incompatible) PDF viewer, not the Adobe PDF plugin.  Either
download the PDF to your local disk, then open it from there
use a browser that uses the Adobe plugin
configure your browser to use the Adobe plugin: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-browser-plugin-configuration.html

  • Adobe 9.3.4 not working for downloading grant application

Hello, I hope someone can help with this. I need to download a grant application with either Adobe Reader or the PureEdge Viewer (never heard of this) and neither is working. I keep getting this error message:
To view the full contents of this document, you need a later version of the PDF viewer. You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader from www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
For further support, go to www.adobe.com/support/products/acrreader.html
I have downloaded 9.3.4 numerous times and I even tried downloading earlier versions that the grant websites says are compatible with the application and still keep getting the error message.
Has this happened to anyone else? Am I doing something wrong in the installation process or do I need to do something besides dragging the app to trash and emptying to uninstall?
Has anyone ever used PureEdge on a Mac?
The deadline is fast approaching and I have made no progress in getting this grant application form to download.
    Much thanks!
    gina

According to Adobe's website, the system requirements for 9.3.4 - Mac OS (Intel) 10.4.11 - 10.6.3, English. Your system information shows you are using "Mac OS X (10.6.4)."
Try the Adobe forum area to find out if there is a work-a-round for your os version - http://forums.adobe.com/index.jspa
Did you repair permissions before & after the installation of their product as well as restarting your computer?

  • Web Start doesn't leave the gate on Linux and Mac

I am evaluating Java Web Start to decide whether to recommend it as part of a government grant proposal. My initial impression of Web Start has been a sorry one. When I go to
    http://java.sun.com/products/javawebstart/demos.html
and click on one of the demos, I am redirected to the page
    http://java.sun.com/products/javawebstart/needdownload.html
which tells me that I need to download Java Web Start ("a one-time process"). Fine, I click on the download link, and instead of a download, what I get is a bug-report page:
    http://java.sun.com/webapps/bugreport
I have seen this behavior on both Linux and Mac OS X. (My Windows machine already had Web Start installed from several months ago; I don't know if this reflects a superior Windows support relative to Linux or Mac OS X support, or a better download software several months ago.)
This is a terrible first impression for one's software. Given these beginnings, any sane developer would run away as fast as possible from the Web Start technology. Clearly a lot of work has gone into Web Start, and to see squandered like this is surprising.
Our software's user base (research biologists) has large Macintosh and Linux constituencies. My experience with Web Start suggests that Web Start would be a disastrous choice for us. I hope there is a simple way around these obstacles.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,

I haven't tested JWS before JRE 1.4 so I can't recommend you anything if you require JRE 1.3 or before, but if you can install JRE 1.4, specially JRE 1.4.2 or after, JWS works very good on Linux and Windows. In both platforms I use deploy applications using JWS and they all work very good. I have no experience on Mac OS X.
Both platforms obviously require Java preinstalled. Also there is some ways to install Java automatically, this is something that must be done by an administrator as every other software that requieres installation and configuration on every PC. After that step, everything is very simple.
On Linux if you click on a .jnlp file for the first time, at least mozilla ask if you want to save the file or open it, you can select the javaws executable inside your java installation as the program to open this file, mark that that's the action you always want to do with that kind of files, and that's all. Also you can manually register .jnlp files and application/x-java-jnlp-file mime tipe as handled by javaws as the last part of the java installation and this first step will not be necesary.
On Windows the installer automatically register itself as insterested in handling jnlp files, so the previous step for linux is not required.
    Hope this helps.

  • Bt infinity FTTC date changed 4 times what now?

Hi all my original date for my denton burn exchange cabinet 12 infinity was June 2013, then sept 2013 then December 2013 now says march 2014 I mean what is going on here is it ever going to be done?
Anyone had similar situation and if so how many changes before you actually got it?
Adsl checker says march 2014 and bt infinity website says btw December 2013 and March 2014.
I have sent an email to gea or whatever they are called so I will wait for there answer but in meantime your responses on how it went for you would be really handy to know before I get excited about March 2014 now

    Hi Jay,
My line is on the same exchange and cabinet, they installed the new roadside cabinet on Redewater Road a few weeks back. Openreach generally will install approx 8 roadside cabinets before making the available to ISPs give infinity to customers. I've counted 4 installed cabinets so far, and knowing how BT work (or in this case not work) you'll probably get it by the end of Jan.
The things that p*sses me off the most is that they moved the June 2013 deadline because Newcastle council won a government grant for BDUK, and BT decided to move the date because it wanted some of that money. (Greedy f*ckers).
Denton Burn is the last exchange in Newcastle to be updated to 21CN and infinity, BT are a disgrace. I'm waiting for the Three network to bring 4G in our areas (we'll have excellent reception) and the first thing I will do is cancel my phone line and broadband connection.
It's nearly 2014 and BT started rolling this out in Jan 2010.
If you just want faster Internet for downloading then the Three One plan will be great, but if you do a lot of online gaming then stick to infinity and pay through the nose to BT.
    Rage over....
    All the best.
    Perhaps your rage is misdirected.
BDUK funding would be for your exchange to be upgraded rather than be missed out in the commercial roll-out. Openreach would not have moved the date "because it wanted some of that money" as the funding was for the exchange to be upgraded.
There are of course many other reasons why a deployment could be delayed none of which would be the fault of Openreach.

  • Report for Cash flow (fund flow from Bank GL)

    Hi Expert,
I would like to have your advice on how can I create this type of report?  Is it better using Fund Management?
My client is asking on cash flow report in which the report should show all fund (cash at bank) movement.  Basically, the report should have 2 main category, which are Cash Inflow / Cash Outflow, for example:
    Cash Inflow
    - Payment received from customer
    - Interest received from FD at Bank
    - Other receipts
    - Government Subsidy Received
    - Government Grant
    Cash Outflow
    - Payment to vendor
    - Finance charge paid to bank (overdraft/loan, etc)
    - Operating Expenses
    - CAPEX
    - Other Payments
For cash inflow, double entries involve to bank GL is as follows:
    DR Bank
CR Item listed in cash inflow section, for example: payment received from customer (or CR csutomer), FD interest received (Revenue item of P/L), etc
For cash outflow, double entries involve to bank GL is as follows:
DR  Item listed in cash outflow section, for example: payment to vendor (or DR vendor), Payment to non-trade vendor (for asset purchase, etc), Interest paid (expense item of P/L), etc
    Questions:
Since my debit or credit leg of my bank account, currently does not have any indicator that can explicitly indicator the nature of my inflow and outflow, how can I produce my report of cash flow show above?
Note: It is extremely heavy for customized ABAP program to extract my bank entry and point back to the opposite leg to find the nature of my inflow/outflow as well.
    Kindly advise.
    Thanks in advance,
    sbmel

    Hi
In ECC 6.0 EhP4 - A new feature has been added inorder to provide such a kind of cash flow report... You need to activate Business Function PSM_FA_CASH..
    Refer this link http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/42/e34f2c31023ee1e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm...
... Under Business Functions in SAP ERP > Enterprise Busn Func > Accounting > Public Sector management > PSM, Cash basis accounting & Cash flow reporting
Once you activate it, you will find additional nodes of IMG under SPRO > Public Sector management.....
This works the same way as Doc Splitting... technically speaking, this new feature is extended arm of Doc Spliting... In Doc Splitting, you assign item Categories to each GL Account.... Similarly, you will assign a "Revenue / Expense Account" to each GL Account.... This R/E Account can be any alpha numeric text.... This R/E account then gets added as a Doc Splittin Char and is populated in every FI Doc that you post
I have tried this in a test client a year ago and was more or less satisified with it barring some exceptions....

  • Its like BT don't want my custom, 3 months + for i...

Sorry for the vent but I have to get my sheer frustration about BT out
I live in a rural area, that for years has been plagued with substandard ADSL broadband, 2-3Mb on a good day, so imagine my joy when I find out that BT will be installing Fibre to the Property under a government grant,  lucky me you say.
Well after about 6 months of numerous calls and registering my interest, i finally hit what i thought was the jackpot, despite what the checker says, the infrasturucture is all in and complete and they can now accept an order for my property, this was January 30th, with an installation date of 20th February.
Surprisingly for BT an installation surveyor was out a week later, he knocked at the door and with much sucking of breath through teeth said this aint going to be easy. This was despite the new 11m high recently installed dedicated for fibre only pole being 25m clear line of site away. Its my power and phone lines thats the problem he says, the angles are all wrong.
So 30 minutes go by and he says he's got a simple solution, we can get the fibre cable into your garage, but it will require a new pole on the verge, but that shouldn't be a problem as its plainly our fault for not thinking through the placement of the new poles to clear the existing power and phone lines. Having seen them install the new poles, should be no problem thought I its a 15 minute operation with the machinery they have.
So all set thought I, interior installation set for Febraury 20th, a days holiday booked, home hub arrives, only a few days to go until we usher in a new era of 21st century 200Mb speeds.
But No!, on the 11th Feb I get a text to say there's been a delay and its rearanged for 3rd March, ok says I not a long delay, I can wait for the dream of superfast true fibre optic broadband.
But no again, get an email on 21st Feb, saying there is another unspecified delay, they'll be in touch when everything has been solidly arranged. While not happy, there isn't alot I can do.
Check online and the rearranged interior installation is set at 23rd March
its been a couple of weeks I thought I'll call them to chase and confirm everything is on track, well day one on the phone, wait over an hour of just ringing and your call is important to us, and we're really busy at the moment, so I give up. Tried again today left waiting for another hour but finally get through, after 15 minutes of being left on hold while the kindly Emma contacts Openreach to find out what the delay is, she returns to inform me that Openreach claim they do not have the required resources to install the one single pole until 17th April at the earliest, plus then it will take a couple of other teams to do their bit until an engineer can be arranged for the final internal install, so the soonest I'm looking at is early May.
So i'm already at over 2 hours on the phone to them, 3 broken installation dates and 6 weeks in since ordering, and according to BT I will have to wait another 6 weeks at a minimum, probably more like 8 weeks at a minimum the way things have gone
I just can't belive what an incompetant organistaion BT is, I had this all before 18 months ago with the ADSL and phone line when we moved in, depsite their being an active BT phone line they found it beyond themselves to acknowledge its existence despite me calling them from it, we had to wait 3 months then with god knows home many calls and broken promises, its deja vu all over again.
I just can't see what the delay is all about, how can it take 3 months +, its not like they have to build the infrastructure all the way to the exchange, its sat there waiting to be used, which some of my neighbours are already doing. Per BT's own surveyor there's an hours work, including boring the hole for the new pole on the verge, how can it take 3 months+ to arrange and complete an hours work.
Obviously I've had the tried and tested brush off of, we're BT Retail, the work sits with Openreach, we're different companies, well last time I checked you all reported through to the same CEO, so get your acts together for the customers who pay their bills, your salaries and his bonus
And to top it off I've checked my bill to find they've charged me already for the homehub, which i can't use for another 6 weeks at least. What planet are BT on, to think that any of the above would come under prompt and decent customer service.
Rant over, if I could dump BT I would in a heart beat, they've never been able to deliver on a single promise they have ever made me

  • Implemention of IFRS on New G/L

    Hello,
We are planning to implement IFRS with New G/L. what would be the guidelines to do it?
I was reading that recommendation is:
    1. Migration of New G/L
    2. Implementation of IFRS (why?)
Can I migrate previous fiscal year to make a comparation with the new fiscal year (already new g/l)?
    How can I do it?
What are the impact on system level? Why?
    Looking forward heard from you.

  • How to: Resize a rows height in a table using acrobat 9 pro?

I'm working on a government grant, with many tables that need to be resized in order to fit the required information. Can anyone help me?

PDF isn't a word processor like file format -- so, a "rebuild edit" to a table is a "You Don't".
As to form fields, Acrobat provides one with the ability to edit Acrobat form fields (if the form / file is not protected).
But, changing a grant form is likely to result in its being rejected by the originating organization.
Basically, you want to speak with the organization that you will submit the form to.
It may well be that you are trying to put 2 tons in the 1 ton pickup (less might be ok & actually expected).
Or, it may be that, unknown to the organization, the PDF form is hosed.
If so, communicating with the organization may well be a good thing.
    Be well...

  • Weird Errors in PDF Printing! Please help!

    Hi All,
I am facing two different problems in PDF printing. Any suggestions would be welcome. I would really be glad to understand what is going wrong.
    Problem 1:
I have a page with 2 report regions, each with its own header. My PDF report was working fine till the necessity arised for providing a page break.
Examples for the problem occuring are:
    1) The 2nd report's heading would be printed in 1st page and data in 2nd page.
    2) The 2nd table's column heading (that are printed in 2 lines) would be displayed with first line in 1st page end and 2nd line in 2nd page start.
In order to avoid this I had to provide a page break. An RTF page break was of no use, because if the 1st report had no data then the entire page would have only "No Data Found". I do not want this to happen. Hence I tried giving the "<?split-by-page-break:?>" before the <?end if?>.
I designed RTF as shown below:
    <?if:P0_REGION1_COUNT = 0?>Government Grants
No Data Found for specified Search Criteria <?split-by-page-break:?><?end if?>
    <?if:P0_REGION1_COUNT != 0?>Government Grants
Table with data display <?split-by-page-break:?><?end if?>
    <?if:P0_REGION2_COUNT = 0?>Non Government Grants
No Data Found for specified Search Criteria <?split-by-page-break:?><?end if?>
    <?if:P0_REGION2_COUNT != 0?>Non Government Grants
Table with data display <?split-by-page-break:?><?end if?>
When I upload this and run my page, I get the "Adobe reader could not open file because it is not supported type, it has been damaged. Eg it was sent as email attachment and wasnt correctly decoded error".
I already know this error occurs when there is a "No Data Found" in the report. I hence handled it using the 1st if condition and report was working till i had to change it to include the page break.
And the best part is for the same data, the PDF runs correctly when using BI Publisher Desktop.
Anyone know what I am doing wrong or what is happening here?
    Problem 2:
Whenever I change my RTF and upload it and run my application, my PDF output behaves in a very weird manner. After repeated tries of loading the same RTF, I finally get proper output. Once I get the output, it does not fail until I make changes to RTF and load again.
An example of weird output is: My first report data gets printed under 2nd report heading and vice versa. Also all the column data do not get printed. Only 1 or 2 columns data is printed.
Here also, for the same data, the PDF runs correctly when using BI Publisher Desktop.
Can anyone tell me what is going on??
    Thanks,
    Sumana

    Hi All,
On further observation (for Problem 2), I found that once I upload the changed RTF and wait for a long time before running the application (sometimes 2-3 hours), I get proper results. The problem itself does not occur always.
Is there any session/cache issue here? Clearing my desktop, browser cache does not help. So is there any other APEX cache (server side cache) that I would need to refresh, every time I change RTF? Or the BI publisher that is being used is not getting refreshed?
Can anyone shed any light on this issue please?
Regarding problem 1, I have implemented the page break differently using an outer table for each report and setting the table properties. Hence this is not an issue now.
    Thanks,
    Sumana

  • PSE 8 dialogue/value windows appear BLACK by default.

Hi, I'm a forum newbie, runningPSE 8 on an iMac.  Is there a way to change the default dialogue / value windows to white or transparent, please?   I'm also seeking a plug in to enable Channel manipulation in PSE.  Many degraded graphics arise from problems in the green or blue channel which compromises the final RGB image.  Any help and advice will be gratefully received.
    Warm regards, paulranger1.

    Dear Ms. Barbara B.,
Thank you so much for your kind advice to help address my PSE 8 problems.  Your suggestion about selecting the 'darker options' (May the Force be with you!) worked a treat with dimensions/value windows now readable as a white numeric figure against a dark grey window background.   That problem appears solved.  Thank you.
I downloaded the Grant's (Dixon?) Plug Ins, with explanatory video guide and seem to have navigated the various components to their correct destination.  In my PSE 8 'Tools' window, I have the following windows displayed on the RH side of the 'Tools' window:-
    "Effects" - compacted to display only Grant's Blue / Green / Red / RGB channel icons;
    "Layers" - below "Effects";
"Color Swatches" - this one is very nomadic; it is not anchored to the backdrop "Tools" window as are the "Effects" and "Layers" windows above it.  When I switch                        back to this email composition window, the "Color Swatches" window 'disappears' with PSE 8 open in the background, unlike the other 2.
I opened PSE 8 and opened an image with severely compromised channel balances and can understand the basic functions of Grant's channel plug in/s.  I would be happy to pay him something for his excellent (and I suspect, unique) enhancement of PSE; it seems unfair that I should not offer something or at least express my sentiments here.
There are three further things with which perhaps you could again help me, please Barbara
I'd like to anchor the "Color Swatches" palette on the RHS as Effects and Layers are.
I'd like to anchor all open, RHS windows to the backdrop, "Tools" window.  E.g. my current selection of Effects/Layers (and 'Adjustments' palette I've just added).
Are any of these possible, please?
Again, I thank you sincerely for your selfless assistance.  I am
    Yours sincerely,
    Paul Collins.

  • Unwanted Security Settings

I really hope that someone could guide me in the right direction for this.
I need to create a log in shell and I am using Adobe Live Cycle Designer 7.0 I am using a PDF template that was originally created in Corell. When I open the template in Adobe Acrobat and check the security settings of that document everything under the restrictions summary is allowed. When I open the template in Adobe Live Cycle the only modification I make is text modification and background image change. When I save it as different file name and open to view PDF, the restriction summary changes to some field becoming not allowed. I can not find where those setting are being set in Adove Live Cycle and how I can turn them off to make the form accessible to the person I am sending it to.
Thank you in advance for your help.

I asked other people too, but just in case, please allow me to post my question here as well.
I am submitting the government grant application and they specify that all the document features should be allowed (editing, commenting, document assembly, etc).  It is to allow reviewers to comment on and assemble applications.
When I am working on a document in Acrobat, all these settings are allowed.  When I attach the document to the application submission program that is based on the Reader (provided by the government), some settings (e.g. Document Assembly) are Not Allowed.
What does this mean?  Should I be worried?  Or should assume that reviewers must have Acrobat to open these files, so they should be able to assemble, comment on and edit documents?
    Thank you,

  • Adobe Reader version compatability

I have a PDF that is compatible with Adobe reader 11.0.2 and I have version 11.0.5 currently installed.  Version 11.0.5 won't open the PDF.  How can I open this PDF? Do I need to specifically download version 11.0.2?
    Thanks for any help!

I can open Reader on its own.  I am trying to download a grant application and when I click on the link that is supposed to open it through Reader it says that Reader is not compatible and that I need to install the latest version of the PDF viewer.  When I click on the link to install the latest version it send me to the Reader installation.  I have installed and tried reinstalling Reader and it hasn't helped.  In the instructions for the grant it only talks about compatability for versions up to 11.0.2 that's why I wasn't sure if maybe the problem is because I have 11.0.5.

Does anyone have experience using a Mac to apply to Grants.gov? I'm trying to download an NEA application to my iMac running 10.5.6. I have Adobe Reader 9.0.0 installed but each time I try the download, I get a Grants.gov response that reads "Warning: This form is not supported with the current version of Acrobat or Adobe Reader. Upgrade to the latest version for full support." I note that Grants.gov's listing for Adobe Reader 9 system requirements for Mac says "Mac OS X v10.4.11–10.5.5" If I am running 10.5.6, is this iMac too sophisticated for Grants.gov and what do you recommend for a solution? My previous iMac, running Tiger, gave me no trouble in downloading from Grants.gov.

Try this. Trash this file: com.adobe.acrobat.pdfviewer.plist
/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Drag that file from the Preferences folder to the Trash, empty the Trash and reboot. Now try to download that .pdf file. If that doesn't work... check your boot disk for errors.
See if the startup disk needs repair:
    Repair Startup Disk:
Open Disk Utility, in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder.
Select your disk, and click First Aid.
    Click Verify Disk.
If the disk needs repairs, do the following:
Insert your Mac OS X Install disc in your computer’s optical drive or an optical drive connected to your computer, and then restart your computer. When you hear the startup tone, hold down the C key until you see the progress indicator, which looks like a spinning gear.
Follow the onscreen instructions until the menu bar appears with the Utilities menu in it, choose Utilities > Disk Utility, click First Aid, and then click Repair Disk.
Repair Disk Permissions: Repair Disk Permissions:
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select FirstAid, then click: Repair Disk Permissions. Quit DU when it's finished and reboot.

  • CS5 Upgrade Issues from DW8

I have recently upgraded from DW8 to CS5. This occurred when I purchased a new computer with the OS going from XP Pro to Win 7 Ultimate (remained with 32 bit instead of going up to 64 bit). DW8 didn't like the new OS. Now at this stage I am still carrying maintenance out on the DW8 created sites (haven't created any new CS5 ones yet) and I am having trouble with the PVII Menu system which I was forced to upgrade to Version II (to cope with the New Everything) however, more importantly, CS5 will not let me edit the Editable Section of the Template pages  as DW8 used to do (as soon as I click on the Editable area, the whole sheet "greys out" and locks me out). I can disengage the Template, however if I do that I can't reattached the page back to the Template. Are you aware of a work around, because if not, it looks as though I am going to have to waste hours re-creating the page as a CS5 page to overcome this issue. Your comments will be appreciated. Hope you might have a solution. With over sixty pages on one site, I am not looking forward too that I can assure you....:-(
Your assistance and advice would be very much welcomed.
    Kind regards,
    John C

    Hi SE,
    Looks as though Project Seven made an easy $65.00 from me...:-(  I have attached the Code for the index.htm page below which is the page I am having the trouble with;
I have at this point not üpgraded the PVII Menu System on the DWT Template even though I have already installed the Extension into Dreamweaver. I am thinking that I will just ditch the PV V.1 Menu and replace the Menu with PVII on the DWT Template
