Downloading iMovie 06

hi. i'm not a very savvy mac user, so what i'm asking is probably simple. basically, i bought a macbook last summer with tiger and iLife06 on it. I installed iLife08 on it. i just bought this new digital camcorder that can only run on iMovie06. i went to the site where i can download the 06 version. i thought i downloaded it succesfully. basically whats happening now is, it sits on my desktop looking like a little grey hard drive labeled iMovieHD6.dmg .... if i click on that it pops up what looks like a bigger white hard drive labeled iMovieHD 6.0.4 for iLife '08. i click on that and it brings me to the finder and all thats in there is what looks like a brown box with a yellow box inside labeled iMovieHD6.pkg ... if i click on that it trys to make me install again....its a nasty cycle and i'm very confused. i have programs like adium and skype where i have click on the big white hard drive, but then it brings me to te application.
PLEASE HELP!

Hi
And what happened after clicking the little yellow parcel ?
Installed iMovie HD 6.0.4 hopefully.
You find it in:
• Applications/iMovies previous versions
Works greatly on my Mac.

I recently downloaded iMovie on my iPhone 5 and it is telling me to connect to wifi or use itunes to download iMovie well I have done both and it is still not working can someone please help me?

    Hi troy157,
I'm sorry you are having issues with the iMovie app you purchased for your iPhone5.
The first thing I would suggest is to log out of your iTunes Account on your iPhone, turn the iPhone off and then on again, and see if app finishes downloading/updating.
Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Tap on your Apple ID account > Tap Sign Out
If the issues persists, the article below will give you a few more troubleshooting steps:
iOS: Troubleshooting applications purchased from the App Store
Try the following steps to resolve your issue, testing the app after each step.
    1. Update your device software
Update your device to the latest version of iOS.
    2. Check for app updates
Ensure that your apps are up to date:
Open the App Store and tap Updates. If updates are available, tap Update All.
When prompted, enter your iTunes Store account information. App Store will then download and install the application updates.
Note: Some applications may require a Wi-Fi connection to update.3. Install another app from the App Store
    4. Restart the application
If the issue affects only a single app, try closing just that app:
Press the Home button to return to the Home screen.
Double-tap the Home button to display recent apps.
Tap and hold the affected app until the red minus appears.
Tap the red minus to quit the app.
Press the Home button, then restart the app.
    5. Restart your device
Hold the Sleep/Wake button until "slide to power off" appears. Slide to power off your device. When it is off, press the Sleep/Wake button to turn it back on.6. Reinstall the affected application
Remove the application from your device and reinstall it.
Touch and hold any application icon on the Home Screen until the icons start to wiggle.
Tap the "x" in the corner of the application you want to delete.
Tap Delete to remove the application and all of its data from your device.
    Press the Home button.
    Go to the App Store.
Search for the application and then download it again.
Note: If it is a paid app, ensure you are using the iTunes account you purchased the app with originally. If it is not, you will be charged for the app again. For more information regarding downloading previously purchased items, see this article.
I hope this information helps ....
    Have a great day!
    - Judy

  • Can't download iMovie and iPhoto to iphone5s

I can't download iMovie and iPhoto to my iphone5s. Every time I click install and type in my password, the iMovie just dont begin to download. I don't know why!

If you continue having problems with the App Store you might try this:
1 - enable the Debug menu in App Store:
    open the Terminal application.
copy the command below and paste into the Terminal window:
defaults write com.apple.appstore ShowDebugMenu -bool true
    followed by Enter.
    launch App Store, login.
2 - select the Debug ➙ Reset Application option:
    3 - try again.

    No, it doesn't.
your screenshots show iMovie09, which is internally numbered version 8 ...

  • I have a new imac with imovie 11 however my hd everio camcorder will only work with imovie 8 or 9 how do i download imovie 9? all i can find are updates and my mac says i don't need it

i have a new imac with imovie 11 however my everio hd camcorder will only work with imovie 8 or 9. i tried to download imovie 9 but my mac says i don't need the update. How can i download imovie 8 or 9 complete not the update?

I really appreciate all your help. Today I spent some time on the problem. First I purchased  any video converter from the ap store and then I connected the camera to the mac with the original usb cable that came with the camera. I turned on the camera and selected backup on pc and the logo came up on my home page. I opened it and after several attempts i found the 3 video files that were on the camera. I then converted them from a tod file to mp4 and then transfered  them to imovie. Now I have to figure out how to send the video to youtube or move it to an external hard drive which I have not been able to do. So far I am not too fond of imovie 11. If you could send me  the download for imovie 6 I then could try that route. When talking to apple support yesterday about the problem they suggested to get Final Cut Express. It's 200 bucks so before i order the install disc i would like to try your suggestion. My email address is [email protected] Again I thank you very much for your help! George

  • I CAN'T DOWNLOAD imovie for my mackbook air

hi,i can't download imovie and iphoto for my mackbook air? that tell me need mac os x v10.7.5 of up. but i can't updates my system right now.

Well, usually snow leopard comes with the 'bundled software' disk; maybe someone gave yan the machine w/o the disk(s) – or flash drive <-------------- on that point i'm not sure because my first MBA was just this past August and there is no more flash drive installer that comes with the MBA (if there ever was one). So I was thinking, for some strange reason, he was at least running an earlier version of Lion and could not update his machine for whatever reason. So he would have to upgrade to Mountain Lion, or wait for Mavericks (if his machine can upgrade to that)

  • Can't download iMovie

I have Macbook OS X version 10.6.8. I want to download iMovie but the app store is teling me that I need at least 10.8 to do it. When I go to search for software updates on my computer it tells me that everything is up to date. I tried to download Mountain Lion 10.8.2 (the only one I saw available on the app site) it downloaded but told me I needed 10.8! *sigh* I really just want to pay my fifteen bucks for iMovie. I thought it was going to be easy. Is my Macbook too old or something? Can someone please help me out with what I should do? I would really appreciate it!

First we need to know which one of the 9 different models of MacBook you have. To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info (and then System Report if you’re running 10.7 Lion). When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier and post it back here.
The Early 2006 model 1,1 Core Duo can only run a maximum of 10.6 Snow Leopard.
The models Late 2006 Core 2 Duos 2,1 through Early 2008 4,1 can only run a maximum of 10.7 Lion.
The Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody through the Mid 2010 White Unibody model 7,1 can run 10.8 Mountain Lion and 10.9 Mavericks.
You have to understand the difference between an Update and an Upgrade.
An Update is a free change to add to the base code or as a bug fix within an existing Operating System. Such as the .8 added to 10.5.
An Upgrade is a complete new Operating System that must be purchased. Such as 10.5 Leopard to 10.6 Snow Leopard.
10.5 Leopard was written for Power PC Macs with code added to force it to run on Intel processors.
10.6 Snow Leopard has completely rewritten code and only runs on Intel Macs.
10.7 Lion used some 32 bit which allows it to run on Late 2006 through Early 2008 MacBooks and a lot of 64 bit code.
10.8 Mountain Lion is pure 64 bit, which excludes more systems than Lion did. It can only run on the Late 2008 through Mid 2010 MacBooks. It's not something you can add memory to, for example, as it involves the base architecture.
The App Store version of iLife ‘11 programs (iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, Garage Band & iWeb) will only work with 10.7 or 10.8. You can get the iLife ’11 DVD which will run on 10.6  on eBay or Amazon.com fairly cheap.

  • How do it re-download iMovie 10.0.4?

How do it re-download iMovie 10.0.4?
My Macbook Pro says it errored on download, I see this error message in the APP store window under the "Purchases" icon .
It not a simple as going to the iMove site and re-downloading it because it says its already installed.

The only way to re download the iMovie app is from the App Store >  Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Make sure you are using the same Apple ID used for purchasing iMovie.

  • How do i download imovie without upgrading my older mac to os x lion?

It seems like I cant download Imovie from apple any more without accessing the app store, which needs you to download the new lion os in order to work. My mac cant handle lion as its a bit older, so how can i just get the imovie software without doing this!?

Well you didn't tell us what Mac you have so this is a bit of guess. You are wrong in your assuption that to get the app store you must upgrade to Lion. In fact all that you need to do is upgrade to Snow Leopard 10.6.6. So if your Mac can be upgraded to Snow Leopard you can get the app store.

  • Not able to download iMovie 11

Hi - I am using OS X Yosemite version 10.10.2. And have i Movie version 10.0.6.
I want to download iMovie 11. But whenever I go to App store, I am being shown the same version (10.0.6).
Can you please help me with how to download iMovie 11 from app store?
Is the new version free for Mac users ?
    Thanks

Fortunately, iMovie HD 06, 09, and 11 were sold on disk and therefore are still readily available. You can purchase them on Amazon as part of iLife.
This is the disadvantage of downloaded software, you are at the complete mercy of the author.
I have all of these versions of iMovie. My favorite is iMovie HD 06 which can be purchased as part of iLife 06. However, be advised, it will cost about twice the price of the current version. Yes, it's that good.

  • I cant download imovie

Well i try to download imovie 2011 for my imac in the app store, i allready buy it but it doesnt charge, when its like half charged it pop-up a window that tells
The application could not be downloaded.
The application you tried to download could not be
downloaded. Check your internet connection and try
    again.
I allready check my connection, its just fine and i allready tried it all day in 3 different sessiones, could someone help me please?

I would recommend you purchase iLife 11 on disk.
You will have the disk as a backup, and later you can sell it if you uninstall it from your computer.
Presently, iLife 06 goes for about $100. ILife 11 about half that amount.

  • Downloading imovie

when i bought my mac.I had garage band ,iphoto and imovie installed on it.when i reinstalled my osx lion,i couldnt install imovie since its not in my purchase list.i had no problem downloading iphoto and garage band.
now im using osx mountain lion and again i downloaded iphoto and garage band but when i want to download imovie it says that i have to purchase it even though i had it on my mac.
    what should i do?
    thank you

To get iMovie you have to buy iLife. iLife 09 includes iMovie 09, however, you need an Intel processor Mac. So you will need iLife 08. Look on eBay.
