Downloading internet explorer to Macbook Pro

Hi everybody!
I think Apple Support Communities is the best place where you can ask some questions.
So, I wanted to download internet explorer on my Macbook Pro.
I searched "Internet explorer" on google and I clicked the download button
Then, it started to download it and I had to wait for a moment.
However, after it succesfully downloaded, it won't let me to open it.

         Fusion.
Note that VirtualBox, Parallels, and VM Fusion can also run other operating systems such as Linux, Unix, OS/2, Solaris, etc. There are performance differences between dual-boot systems and virtualization. The latter tend to be a little slower (not much) and do not provide the video performance of the dual-boot system. Votre seule option serait de courir dans Boot Camp ou sous émulation dans un programme tel que 'Parallels'. I need Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher to use a particular website for work occasionally. Can I download this from Microsoft without causing any problems with my MacBook Pro and, if so, how do I do that? I couldn't find anything on the Microsoft website that looked promising.

You can "spoof" the server and make Safari act like Internet Explorer.
    Safari > Preference > Advanced
    Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
    Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
    Click "Develop" in the Safari menu bar.
    From the dropdown click "User Agent",then Internet Explorer.
    Default is"Default Automatically Chosen".
    This is not a perfect solution but may work.

Internet Explorer on Macbook Pro

The company I work for uses a web based credit solution and it ONLY works with Internet Explorer. Being a field based rep that calls on clients I need some way to be able to pull up their loan applications from the road.
Is there ANY way to get internet explorer on my 2014 Macbook Pro? I know whatever the solution is, it will be less than desirable, however it is a necessity for work.

Install Windows on another partition with Bootcamp or use Parallels and you will have Internet explorer. It has not been available for Mac for many many years.

Not really a reply just some added info:
This is the error message I get saying the internet is not on, but clearly as I can send this message it has to be:
To open “Java Preferences,” you need to install a Java runtime, but you are not connected to the Internet.
I am connected through Wi-fi if that makes a difference.

If by chance this is a site that is largely built around ActiveX controls (I think there are still web tools for registerd real estate agents that are like that - the MLS site, for agents not consumers, was like that and was posted about here often in the past), then your only real option is to install windows and use IE.
IE for Mac was dropped by Microsoft back in 2003.

Problems with flash player through internet explorer on MacBook

Here is the problem:
I downloaded internet explorer for mac to use it in some websites that requires this browsers. when I opened the site a pop-up message came out saying that I need flash player plug in so I went to that website of adobe that was suggested using internet explorer but it freezed. so I went to the adobe website and I used Safari this time and I downloaded the flash player installer . I installed it & it was successfull . I went back to use the internet explorer to the earlier website that requires internet explorer and I got the same plug-in required window. I'm new to mac I don't know what to do. help me please.

IE for Mac hasn't been supported by microsoft for 7 years. I'm surprised that it works at all. There's probably a conflict between the flash and the browser.
A better way to run IE may be installing windows via crossover, boot camp or vm on your MacBook.

And by the way, this is apparently a common problem and Apple has completely failed to warn in advance or offer a quick straightforward solution - used to be a good company, but it's becoming just another crappy screw-the-consumer corporation.

It would help to know versions here. I'm guessing your update put an older version of something into a place where a newer version of something iTunes put in there existed. Updating an earlier OSX version to 10.6.8 is still only updating to system software that was issued several years ago. If you are running some slightly newer version of iTunes issued subsequent to 10.6.8 and you just updated to 10.6.8 you may have put in an older version of something iTunes uses. Anyway, I'm guessing here until we know exactly what you did.

I just downloaded Maverick on my Macbook Pro from 2011. When I try to open iPhoto, it says that I have an old version that doesn't work with Maverick. None of the solutions stated on this forum work for me, because there are no options displayed.

I have the exact same problem trying to use the Remote app on both my iPhone 3gs and iPad 2 with either my Mac or ATV2. My Remote app used to work on my phone - I can't recall if I ever actually used it with my iPad, but when I tried today, I got all the same results as you did (on both iPad, and then iPhone).
