Downloading is started before pressing save button on save as dialog.

I select "Always ask me where to save files" radio button in Options menu. And when I download something, I notice that transferring is started before I press save button on "Save as" dialog. Is there any way to prevent the pre-caching before pressing save button?

Sorry, not that I have ever seen mentioned in this forum. Firefox has always done that when "Ask me ...." is selected in Options.
Are you having any particular problems with downloads being started before you select a specific location for the "final resting place" for the download?

I have been using Firefox off and on for the last year or so, and there's one thing that always gets me to stop using it, whenever I download a file I cant see the file size of it in the "Save As" dialog, Internet Explorer and Opera has this feature and it's one of the things that I really need, I have tried that extension that does this (I forget the name of it), but unfortunately it is not for Firefox 4 :(

This addon is incompatible for Firefox 4.0 RC. but you can add another addon in firefox to make it work: Addon Compatibility reporter. 1st install this addon and then install your " Show file size addon" it should work then.

Simple search panel .... PO# with lov and Receipt Number with lov .... search results in the bottom.
When user presses Go to search, is there a way to disallow partial values? In other words, before they hit Go, I would like to make sure that there's a valid PO or Receipt Number in the search panel so I don't get results for multiple PO's or receipts?

LOV should do the validation that you are looking for , this is known as Autocompletion.
If you are typing some values in the LOV Input field and directly click on the button instead of tabbing out then this standard autocompletion feature cannot handle the case.
What you need to do to handle this is, enable validate-on-submit for the LOV.

I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:

Verify the headset being used is compatible with the iPhone.
Verify there is no debris in the headset jack.
Insert the stereo headset and play audio using the Music app. Verify both left and right channels are functioning.
Press the center button to see if it can pause and resume audio.
Make a phone call and see if the microphone is working.
If the issue persists, try another headset.
If the issue persists with another headset, have the iPhone serviced.

Print to PDF is very slow showing "save as" dialog when printing from Outlook 2013

I'm having a problem with one of my users. The problem is intermittent. At first when I was looking at the issue, here is what I saw:
In Outlook 2013, I opened an e-mail. I then selected Print, selected the Adobe PDF printer, and hit the print button. There was over a 1 minute delay before the "save as" dialog appeared to ask me where to save the document and what to name it. I did this for several different e-mails with and without attachments and the problem was consistent. I saved the e-mail to a local e-mail file and the problem was the same. This process was over 30 or 40 minutes. I was pulled away for another issue and now the "save as" dialog pops up within seconds. The user is complaining that this happens regularly. I tried a repair, cleared temp files, and was going to try printing from other apps, but then it started temporarily behaving itself, so I can't tell you if the same delay existed in other apps. I didn't see anything obvious in the event viewer logs.
Has anyone else seen this? Anyone have an idea on how to troubleshoot this?

Thank for your help Bill, but changing settings in the distiller did not seem to work. As my application prints directly to the default application without using anything specific to Acrobat, I was hoping there was a simple way forward. A colleague suggested copying registry entries from the account I logged on as to the S-1-5-18 entry, then rebooting. This had no effect as the prompt still comes up.
Aandi, I don't have the Acrobat SDK or any experience of it.
Also I'm not sure where any code/script would sit since the application is stable and so I would rather not change it.
If it amounts to a few lines of javascript sitting outside the application then that would be of interest.

Save as dialog window display is slow with EVERY app

Hello guys,
Since upgrading to Yosemite 10.10.2 I see a VERY annoying issue each time any application opens a "Save as..." dialog : the dialog takes about 5 seconds to load. I think I also hear something like a small beep during the time the Save window tries to open and most of the time I see the spinning wheel a few seconds before the Save as dialog is displayed.
Specs of my Mac are as follow :
Macmini 6,2
Intel Core i7
2,3 GHz
RAM: 16 Go
Intel SSD
I don't have any network drives attached, only 3 USB drives.
This Save As bug is a HUGE issue for me, sorry but I can't wait 5 seconds every time I need to Save something.
Anyone here found a solution to this issue ??

I think those settings are saved in Safari's property list file. Opening that file in either Property List Editor or TextEdit and scrolling through the entries highlights a cluster of "NSPanelExpandedSizeForSaveMode" strings, which look like they may be relevant.
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
If you're not comfortable editing the file manually, you can try moving the .plist file to your Desktop and restarting Safari. Hopefully everything will return to normal.

Which MacBook Pro do you have? If it has an optical drive then that is just the optical drive checking if there is a disk inserted.

Where are download file stored before I select a save location? It looks like it starts the download before I choose a location.

That's one of the weird things.. it recognizes it maybe 10% of the time. And usually, only after I do the two-button reset. Problem is.. since it won't charge above 2%, anytime I try to do a restore or anything like that using iTunes, my device shuts off and I lose whatever progress I'd made.
So, an update... after reading through a bunch of similar complaints (there are literally 1000's of them so there's NO WAY this isn't somehow ios7 related, thanks a lot APPLE ) I decided to try a restore in recovery mode. After 3 hours and several disconnections... I ended up having to just set it up as a new iPad, as the restore did nothing. Weirdly though... as I was doing the restore in recovery mode.. I noticed I'd gotten up to a 10% charge.. higher than it's been since September, so after setting it up as a new device, I turned it off and plugged it in using the wall charger. 2 hours later and I was up to 38%. Still not great, as my iPad, before ios7 could've fully charged twice in the amount of time it took for me to now get 28% more of a charge. And that's with a fully cleaned out device.. so that really ***** and I'm now more confused than ever.
But I'm gonna leave it overnight charging and see what I come up with tomorrow. Sadly, when I paid $600 for it in February, I never expected to have to play "wait and see" with it...

Here's my favorite scenario:
1. User clicks button
2. Save As dialog displays
3. User chooses location
4. A set of PDF files download to that location OR a single zip file downloads
Background:
I want to ensure the user sees that files are being downloaded. I'm delivering content to users who may not be Web savvy.
Concern:
1. User has no clue how to find downloaded files or that files have even downloaded.
2. I'd like to deliver the set as zip files. Not sure if self-opening zip files still exist.
FYI:
I'm using jQuery UI buttons. Not sure if that factors into response.

When you press 'save' it tries to do a commit_form.
Before commiting the form, it checks for any errors which might occur at form level, block level or item level and does the commit only when it doesn't find one.

actaully, i have created a form and all work fine including validations and processess but i want to know how can i validate an item before submit the form?
for example: if i have two items on the page i.e :p1_item1 and :p2_item2 and save button so i like to validate both items before press the save button?
if item1 is date item then should check date is correct format before go to next item? at the moment i am validating when press save button and its work fine!

If it is related to date.. why don't you use jQuery Date picker and disable manual entry into the field...
this will make sure that date is always in correct format...
Anyways... You have the options to use Javascript function to validate that the date is in correct format by calling the function onblur..

DoSubmit(Save) when pressing another button

Hi all,
I have a Button with request "anfordern" (created as a button displayed among this region's items). The button redirect to another page.
When the user make changes in data of the page and press "anfordern" without pressing "Save" first, all changes will be lost. Now he want's to "Save" automatically when he presses the button "anfordern".
I read something about doSubmit, but I don't understand how I can do this in Apex. (Javascript is new for me!)
Can anybody help me?

excuse me. I mix up 2 buttons. My Button with Request "anfordern" don't redirect to another page. When I press the button a conditional validation (function returning error text) starts. In the validation I do an insert into another table. There is no other function or process on this button.
You say "Change your existing Processes so that they also fire for your new request". I think this will help me. But how can I do this?
I have the generated process "Process Row of AUFTR_AUFTRAG" with type "automatic row processing (DML)". I think this is the process that fires by the request "Save" and should also be fired for my Request "anfordern". In which attribute can I write my request?

Mine does this too. I know EXACTLY what you mean. If you push lightly (not actually depressing the button) it makes a higher pitched "click". Like the saphire is getting caught up on the ring surrounding the saphire layer. Any input Apple???
