Downloading iTunes 7.02 Problems

For some reason I keep getting the same error everytime I try to download the newest version of iTunes (7.02) The error message reads: "itunesSetup.exe is not a valid Win32 application"
Has this happened to anyone else. How do I fix this?

Melissa,
Does the full text of the message mention 'Tempory Internet Files' at all?
If so, empty your temporary internet files in Internet Explorer.
Now try saving instead of running the application when prompted to download the file.
Save it to the desktop, or someplace else you can locate it after it downloads.
Once the download completes, double click on the file, and try running that file?

  • Downloading iTunes for Vista problem....

Hi all. I recently did a Factory Restore on my Gateway PC (about 8 months old). After everything was returned to the original settings, I tried to go ahead and download iTunes from Apple's website. However, everytime I hit save, the download begins and either stops the downloading process right away (at 1%) or it will stop later on (around 9%). I have tried to download iTunes from a different website, I tried to download just Quicktime (which isn't working either)and I've tried installing both together and all have been unsuccessful. Every other program has downloaded fine. Any suggestions on what to do? I really miss iTunes and I need it for my iPhone. HELP!!!

What browser have you been using for the downloads, p? Does it make any difference if you use Firefox instead of IE (or vice versa)?

  • I am unable to download iTunes 7.4.1 to Vista PC

I just bought a new laptop with Windows Vista. There was no pre-installed iTunes software, so I tried to download the new version 7.4.1 form the Apple site. This is what happened...
    1. I click Download iTunes Free button.
    2. A file download - security warning box appeared that says DO YOU WANT TO RUN OR SAVE THIS FILE? I click to save.
    3. The the download box disappears & the computer screen says "Thank you for downloading iTunes."
The problem it there is no iTunes found, no icon on the desktops & it's not found when I try to search. What am I doing wrong? I need help please.

I'm having the same problem. I had previously downloaded an earlier version but it's apparently too old to allow me to activate my new iPhone. I tried disabling Download Manager (holding down the shift key); it was disabled but I still got the immediate "Thank You" without the new version being downloaded. Any suggestions? Anyone using Vista able to download this version?

  • ITunes code / WordPress problems

I followed the instructions and sample code on the tech specs page, but when I uploaded it and went to the feed, it just came up as an error page. I'm using WordPress to generate the feed--could that be the problem? and if so, is there a way around it?

I downloaded Itunes 7.0 problems on my IPOD
    (with
click wheel)40GB. Itunes working fine with my
computer but when I synched/update my IPOD, and
    I
    get
a message saying Itunes couldn't copy all my
    songs
because my IPOD software was old. So it asked me
    to
update my IPOD software. I tried to update my
    IPOD
software but at the end I get this error message
"1417". What does that mean???? Either way I
    still
have an old version software running.
Then I check my IPOD library. All my purchased
    music
isn't in the IPOD but its still in my Itunes
    library.
What gives? I paid for it and now all my
    purchased
music won't transfer into my IPOD. I guess these
    are
the songs that are Itunes couldn't copy.
    HELP!!!!
Can someone out there help me???
    Hi,
I had the same problem. I had a very nice playlist
    of
songs that I purchased and then when I updated to
    the
new software version, my purchased songs were
    deleted
off of my IPOD. I am not very happy about this,
    and
wondering if we can get our songs back to our
    IPOD.
You know what I'm going to try. I'm going to burn
the purchased music on a CD. I'll delete some of my
songs on my library and see if I can stick the songs
back via my CD. I mean if the synch/update accept
only audio CD's then why not try to burn the
purchased songs on a CD. I'll let you know if that
    works.
Just tried it and it doesn't work.....Same problem...need a freaking update for the Ipod because certain items couldn't be updated in my Ipod (which is the purchased music), which then runs a code Error 1417. I-tunes 7 has all of my purchased music in my library but isn't in the Ipod. Purchased music works fine in Itunes but canpt get it in my Ipod. 140 purchased songs sitting in limbo!!!! This ***** up the wazoo. I'm considering pitching this Ipod and buy an MP3 player and scrap Itunes if this isn't settled. Apple needs to wake up as I see all sorts of problems with Itunes 7. I was nirvana with the old version of Itunes.

  • I am trying to download iTunes but it keeps saying I have to verify that I have sufficient privileges to start system services. Any way to fix this?

I am trying to download iTunes but it keeps saying I have to verify that I have sufficient privileges to start system services. I have downloaded iTunes without a problem before, and I'm the only user on my computer so I obviously have suffucient privileges.

fhdNKS, how did you fix it?  I'm getting the same error message and can't figure it out.  I've seen this question several other times on this forum too.  Thanks!

  • When I plug my iPhone in to my computer, iTunes doesn't recognize it as a device.  I have deleted and re-downloaded iTunes twice which seems to fix the problem temporarily but then the next time, the device is not recognized.

What happens if you go to iTunes > File > Devices, do you get the option to Sync iPhone?
You could try a reinstall of iTunes. OS X Yosemite: Reinstall apps that came with your Mac

  • Problems mounting CDs after downloading Itunes 10 when on the internet

I'm new to both Macs and forums, so please bear with me if some of the terminology is wrong. Also, from the other posts I have looked at this seems to be a longstanding but unanswered issue, so feel free to direct me to other places if an answer is out there.
Basically, since I bought my MacbookPro in May almost all of the time cds mounted automatically and it found the CD info on the internet. Sometimes it hadn't been doing it first time round, but it wasn't too great an issue. However, earlier today I downloaded Itunes 10. Now, cds won't mount when I'm connected to the internet. In fact Itunes has a kind of flickering attack as though it's struggling to read the cd. Trying to manually mount the CDs using Disk Utility also doesn't work in this case. But if I UNcheck the "automatically retrieve cd track names from the internet" it mounts.
So, I can import cds but I don't have any of the information. Also, when I try to manually import the information ("Get track names) a message box pops up saying the information doesn't exist, which can't be the case on these widely available albums. I have tried various combinations of the suggestions mentioned (bar deleting and reinstalling software which I have no idea how to do) and nothing works.
    Finally then, my questions:
    1. Can I go back to the older version of Itunes that almost always worked? If so, how do i do so?
    2. If I was to import the cds first, is there a way of adding the track information later, given what I wrote above.
So far my first few months using a Mac have been very pleasurable. However, this problem is quite frustrating at the halfway point of importing my cd collection to my Mac, so any answers would be really appreciated.

    Similar problems but not quite.
Yesterday, I imported a few CDs no problem. Then I noticed that one of my albums on my iPhone had the tracks in the wrong order (a pain on a gapless album!) but it's OK on the iMac.
I tried to re-import but iTunes crashes every time I click 'yes' to 'would you like iTunes to import...?'
I noticed that although the disc is mounted in the finder, it's not in iTunes and neither does it go off to check gracenote.
Anyway I fixed that issue with a reboot but the wrong track order still persists.
Hey ho, just await the update I guess.

    Try this...
Triple click anywhere in the line below to select it and press Ctrl+C to copy it.
    cmd /k netsh winsock reset
Press the WinLogoKey+R to open the run dialog, then Ctrl+V to paste, then press enter/return.
You should get something similar to this:
Reboot the computer and the problem should be resolved.
If it doesn't work then perhaps a full tear down and rebuild of iTunes will fix things. See Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for details.

  • Problems downloading iTunes after upgrading to Windows 8.1

I just upgraded to WIndows 8.1. When I opened my iTunes it said there was an update was available. I tried to update my iTunes but kept getting errors. SO i decided to try and download the update later but when I tried to go to the iTunes store I got an error saying there was a problem accessing the iTunes store and then my iTunes closed. I looked at some of the comments in the community and tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it. Now when I try to download itunes I keep getting the following error:
I am the only user of the computer and the only administrator. I tried downloading the installer and then right clicking on it and selecting 'run as administrator' and this also doesn't work.
    Please help
    Thanks

"The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory: C:\Program Files(x86)\iTunes\iTunes.Resources\sk.lproj\Printing Templates. The instillation cannot continue. Log on as administrator or contact your system administrator."
That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Windows 8 instructions in the following document: Disk Error Checking in Windows 8
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • I have a ipod touch and i got it for christmas with an iTunes card .the problem is that i downloaded videos and now it said that there is not enough space and i only downloaded 8 and now 5 don't download how do i erase them.can  get my money back

Whatever you read about iTunes is wrong unless you're actually referring to feature movies, not videos. Videos, apps, music and iBooks you can re-download:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
Download to your computer and then sync to your iPod touch whatever will fit.
And no, I can't say with certainty that they won't give you a refund, but it's unlikely. The most probable outcome, if you do indeed mean movies, not TV shows or other videos, is that they would set up an additional download. For other content they'll probably just direct you to the same instructions on re-downloading I just posted.
