Downloading iTunes and Quicktime for Windows XP

I had problems with iTunes and unloaded it. Now when I try to reload iTunes, I get an error message about QuickTime:
"Could not open key: HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Software\Classes\QuickTimePlayerLib.QuickTimePlayerAPP\CLSID. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel."
Then the whole download rolls back and I end up without anything.
How do I fix this?

I just purchased a ipod w/color display and installed the software on my pc (DELL w/windows XP).every time I click on the itunes or quicktime icon the start page flashes up for a brief second and is gone. I can not get it to work after that. I have went through msconfig and reset my startup settings whic will allow me to bring up the itunes screen, but if I close the application I can not get it back. I now can not delete the itunes/quicktime software so I can try to reinstall it.PLEASE HELP

he first thing I'd suggest is to get a good antispyware checker and give it a go at your system. Some recent spyware has been reported by other users to shut down iTunes or prevents it from launching. From user reports, Ewido seems to be the best at catching it. OK, I downloaded iTunes 7.6 for windows 3 separate times. The first time after completing the download, an error message popped up that states: "iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes." Well I went back to your site two more times to download the software again, each time I get a pop-up that asks if I want to remove iTunes or repair it, each time I select REPAIR and it goes through the download process and says it is complete. Trying to download iTunes 10.4 for windows 7

Hi all!
I have a small problem here. I have been trying to download new iTunes 10.4 for windows 7 on my computer and it says I cannot delete the previous version and for me to contact apple about it. Well, I did that and I can't get a reply back on how to do this so I can download the newer version... Can anyone help me with this.. This has been going on for 2 weeks now. I am ready to scream my head off here.

I to am having the same issue. I have a admin account and logged into it as well and still have the same message pop up. Contacted live support the woman i spoke with had to send it up higher. We went through every thing including her trying (taking over as a host on my laptop) still have not bee contacted this June will be a year that i have heard nothing from them sine She di everything she could and pushed it up higher.

Weird Colours in Itunes and Quicktime for Movies

Hi there,
Whenever I play videos in Itunes and Quicktime, all I can see are weird blurry colours on the screen although the sound works perfectly fine. The same thing happens when I try to play the movie trailers on the apple site...I have to open the trailer at least 5 times before it produces the proper image for the video, but that trick doesn't work for Itunes...these videos work perfectly fine on my Ipod however, it's just on Itunes and Quicktime they are blurry colours.
How can I fix this problem?

HELP! I downloaded iTunes 10.6 for Windows Vista, and it won't run.

A few months ago I needed to update my iPhone, and before doing so I was prompted to update my iTunes software to the new 10.6. I downloaded the new iTunes, and since then I have not been able to open iTunes. I double click on the icon on my desktop, and a little wheely thing pops up like it is loading and then nothing else happens.
I have Windows Vista Home Basic, 32-bit OS
I have tried uninstalling iTunes and all the other applications that go along with it and downloading iTunes all over again. And when I run iTunes in safemode it works fine, except I can't plug in my phone in safemode.
Please help!

Restart your PC. after the PC restarts, bring up your Task manager, and go to the "Processes" tab. Click "Image name" to sort the processes alphabetically.
Now try to launch iTunes.
Does an itunes.exe process appear? If so, does it vanish after a second or so, or does it persist in the Processes tab (even though iTunes itself never shows up)?

Where do I download iTunes 32 bit for Windows XP?

The quick links on the iTunes download page for alternative versions are not available anymore. The website auto detects my OS, which is 64 bit, but I need to download the 32 bit version for another computer (which is not connected to the internet) running Windows XP 32 bit.

was prompted to upgrade itunes on my PC and also upgrade the software on my iphone 4s.Went through as usual but took 3 goes to get a successful upgrade of itunes on the PC. Then was prompted to update quick time, this was done successfully.
Thought I'd look at the tutorial video for itunes - the sound went off 11/2 minutes into it, then I couldn't stop it. I had a quick look around itunes and decided to sync my phone. The program recognised the phone then everything froze. Windows message for a non responding program came up and had to pull out of the program. So far after several hours I have not been able to get beyond stage 2 of 7 of syncing the phone; it keeps freezing up at different stages.
Any ideas?? I haven't had this kind of trouble before with any other version of itunes.

Apple application software not found. please uninstall, then instal again. Error 2
Ive already tried to uninstal and re install. Any help would be great!

Another box will pop up. Now type this into it

Do you get back a message that has 0% loss (good)in it? Or 100% loss (bad)?

The installation goes smoothly until after Quicktime has been installed, there is a message that pops up saying "Could not open key: HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Software\Classes\QuickTimePlayerLib.QuickTimePlayerApp\CLSID."
In the support it tells me: "If the issue persists beyond these two steps, there is an issue with one or more keys the QuickTime installer needs to access in the registry. Resolving this issue will require either reinstalling Windows, using a third-party registry utility, or manually editing the registry."
What exactly does "editing the registry" mean?
