Downloading itunes films unknown error -50

I am trying to download 2 films I purchased and day after day it stops at about a tenth into the download and says there is an unknown error.
I thought it was the first film but then tried a second a few days later and same again.
I have downloaded 6 films before with no problem so what can I do to resolve this and get my films?

    Hi vagsmailbox,
I apologize, I'm a bit unclear about the exact nature of your issue. If you are talking about signing into the iTunes Store, you may find the following articles helpful:

  • Can't Download Apps - Says 'Unknown Error has occurred(2001).'

I want to get a free app and every time I try to get a free or paid app, it gives me this crap:
*We could not complete your iTunes store request. An unknown error occurred (2001).*
There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later.
Any possible way to fix this?
    Thanks!

I had the same error. I found a solution on another forum that helped me.
Click on "sign in" at the top right of iTunes store
Fill in all the info and agree to the terms
    Now it should work
I believe I perviously got the error because I mistakenly tried to download apps without having even signed in to iTunes properly.
The post I found is here:

  • Unable to check for available downloads. An unknown error has occurred. (-50)

When I click on a station, it pauses for a few seconds and then gives the error message "Unable to check for available downloads. An unknown error has occurred. (-50)". I wanted to check on other solutions before I uninstall.

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (If you've got XP, although the procedure is for Vista and 7, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)
