Downloading iTunes stalls

Hello, Itunes  starts downloading on my HP pavilion, 64 Bit/Windows 7 but time and again stalls halfway. I have removed the older version of iTunes, cleared temp file, used different browsers etc. Nothing seems to help. Who can help me?
Thanks !

I have subscribed to podcasts for 6 months with no problem.
In specific, I can no longer access SBS Italian Radio podcasts
http://www20.sbs.com.au/podcasting/index.php?action=feeddetails&feedid=15&catid= 1
The last automatic update I received was 5/16/07. I have tried unsubscribing & then suscribing as well as copying the URL into the advanced tab in ITUNES.
The podcast acts as if it will begin downloading, but never does.
The error message of the exclamation point beside the podcast name says "Network Connection Timed Out".
I have cable network with 24/7 connection to internet, so I don't understand the problem or how to fix.
I have also contacted the podcast producers & they say everything is clear on their end.
I am runnning the most current version of ITUNES.
If anyone can help I would appreciate it!
Thanks,
Montgomery, Alabama

    Hi folks,
I found a solution in case your MATCH is still buggy...
JUST BOOT YOUR MAC HOLDING THE SHIFT KEY (until you see a progress bar).
Then in itunes disable and re-enable iTunes Match.
It should rescan all your library and eventually works.
At the end just reboot your Mac normally.
    Best regards from Paris.

  • Itunes stalls on download.

I have tried several times to install itunes 10.  It hangs up and stalls about 1/2 way through.  What might be the hangup?

This is a common issue which should easily be found if a search was done prior to posting.
Temporarily disable any Anti-Virus and Firewall software on the computer, then download iTunes.

  • Repeated failures trying to download iTunes update 10.5.1.42 for WinXP

I have failed 4-times trying to download iTunes update 10.5.1.42 for WinXp. What is causing the installer failure? I have maintained the Windows XP system files and Windows Installer, along with iTunes versions until now.  The install process message says "THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE Windows Installer Package. A PROGRAM RUN AS PART OF THE SETUP DID NOT FINISH AS EXPECTED. CONTACT YOUR SUPPORT PERSONNEL OR PACKAGE VENDOR."
This is the first time I have had a problem updating iTunes on my XP desktop.

After reviewing other Download related problems, one reply suggested using the REPAIR feature from Window Control Panel, list of Software Installed.  I repaired 3 Apple software files and iTunes main file. Took about 10-12 minutes. Then reran "Check for updates" from iTunes/Help menu. Surprised to find 1 program listed that didn't popup "before" I repaired the Apple files.  New version of APPLE SOFTWARE UPDATE 2.1.3.127.  Tryed to install but it hung up/stalled. Then tried again only used the DOWNLOAD option instead of install option. Then Manually "Ran" that file from my Apple/Apple Software Update folder.  filenamed "APPLESOFTWAREUPDATE, type "Windows Installer Package" from Apple. It worked!!
Then Checked for updates from iTunes/Help, surprised to see (4) new files available. Safari 5.1.1; Mobile Control Panel 1.6.7; iTunes 10.5.1.42; and Quicktime 7.7.1. Installed all 4 and now iTunes 10.5+ runs great and my iCloud works, letting me catch up Downloads from the Apple/iTunes servers.
What a pain in the @$#!!!! and it only took 2.5 hours to get it all figured out with 6 total attempts to update to iTunes 10.5.1.42.
    Ready for double Scotch rocks.....

  • I cant download itune

i cant download itune to my vista, help me plz. I rang i phone and they asked me to delete bonjour and other programs from my control panel then we started again together. I loads it till almost the end then I get a message saying the installer couldn't stall this program. I rang Microsoft and they said its not our problem, we only fix things to do with Microsoft. They also ask me if I have the same problem downloading any other program and I said No, so they said sort it out with Apple. I'm very frustrated, I need music and movies in my mobile but I haven't been lucky so far. Please help me anyone. I will be very grateful.

I loads it till almost the end then I get a message saying the installer couldn't stall this program.
What's the precise text of that error message, please? (There's a few different ones I can think of that you might be getting.)

  • Cant download itunes 10 using windows vista error installation of assembly policy 8.0 microsoft VC80.CRT

cant download itunes 10 using windows vista erroe about installation of assembly

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? (For example, 8007000B.)

  • I deleted iTunes from my PC, is there any way i can sync my phone to a newly downloaded iTunes without losing my music that wasn't purchased from iTunes?

    BACK-STORY
I recently was given a new iPhone 4S from the Apple Store, I synced it to my PC when I got home and got everything back.I had to uninstall a download of windows 8.1 back to the original windows 8 in order to install an anti-virus software. The only way to uninstall Windows 8.1 is basically a factory reset, by doing so I lost everything that wasn't saved in cloud or external drive.I downloaded iTunes again, signed in and the only thing I could find was the music that I purchased from iTunes. I don't want to connect my phone to the iTunes I just downloaded, because I think I'm going to lose all the music that's already on there, minus the music I bought from iTunes. It's a lot of albums and it took me a while to collect them all too.
WHAT I WOULD LIKE HELP WITH PLEASE
Can I transfer the music on my phone to some type of storage?
    USB memory drive
Cloud ex. Skydrive, Google Drive, Dropbox etc
Store somewhere on my PC. (I know I can't sync from my iPhone to iTunes.)
If it is at all possible to store the music that's already on my iPhone using another method, such as the ones I've mentioned or haven't,can I then transfer it to iTunes?
If there is no way to save my iPhone's music library, then when I rebuild it is there a way to store it, that if the same thing was to happen I wouldn't have to go through this process?
Also, any other tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.
    THANKS IN ADVANCE TO ALL!!

The syncing of music is one way, computer to phone. See this helpful document from a fellow user. Credit goes to the author.

I am trying to download iTunes on my new desktop computer (Windows 7, 64 bit).  It starts installing, and then stops with the message- "The System Administrator has set policies to prevent this installation." This is a stand alone computer and I am the sole user.   Please help.

This is a Microsoft Windows Issue.
    From a MS Support Engineer:
    "Hi,
    ·        Is the computer on a domain?
    ·        Is the issue isolated to only this software or you get the same error message with other software’s as well?
Try the steps below and check if it helps.
    Step 1:
Run the software setup file as an administrator and check if it helps.
    a. Right click on the setup file of the software that you are trying to install.
    b. Select “Run as administrator”.
    Step 2:
Temporarily disable the antivirus software running on the computer and check if you are able to install the software.
    Disable antivirus software
    Warning:
Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
    Step 3:
    a. Click Start, type "Local Security Policy" (without quotes) and press enter.
    b. Click on Software Restriction Policies.
    c. In the right pane, double click on the "enforcement".
    d. Select “All users except local administrators”.
    e. Click Ok and restart the computer and check if the issue is fixed."

  • Can anyone PLEASE tell me if I can download itunes to a tablet other than ipad (Toshiba Thrive)

Can anyone PLEASE tell me if I can download itunes to my Toshiba Thrive & if so what version to use?

iTunes is available for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X - nothing else, including Android.
The version of iTunes pre-installed on an iPad is a store-front for the iTunes Store, and cannot be installed on anything else.

    Perfect, thanks.
Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • As icloud when I got my iphone.I recently got an iphone. Ever since I have downloaded my iphone pictures to my photo gallery on my PC, my computer crashes when i'm in photo gallery. Any suggestions? I also downloaded itunes as well

I recently got an iphone5. Ever since I have downloaded my iphone pictures to my photo gallery on my PC, my computer crashes when i'm in photo gallery. Any suggestions? I also downloaded itunes as well as icloud when I got my iphone5.

No, your iPhone and your iPad should not appear in the finder.
I'm not sure what you mean about downloading photos with iPhoto being double handling, but you can download direct to a folder with Image Capture. Image Capture can also be used to delete photos from the Camera Roll on the iPhone or iPad (preferrably after they are downloaded).
You can remove the photos you synced from your phone with iTunes by syncing again with an empty folder, That will delete all the photos that were previously synced that way, replacing them with the contents of the empty folder (that is, nothing). This will not effect photos takes with the camera on your iPhone.

  • Can't download itunes on new computer

I had itunes 11.1 and downloaded the update 11.2 a few weeks ago.
When I tried to open itunes today I got a notification that I had to uninstall and reinstall it.
I tried that several times but can't find the exe file.  When I did a serve I found one and it went through the download.
NOW when I try to open itunes I get a notification that the library can't be read because it was set up with a newer version.  This indicates that the exe file I found was left over from my very first download on this new computer.
I deleted everything I could find on the computer that had to do with apple but I still can't complete the download of 11.2
I have closed the computer entirely and rebooted but still can't complete the download.
I want to transfer my music from my iphone 5 to this new computer and I'm really frustrated.

    Hi truckerdude40!
You may have some previous iTunes software still on your computer that would be preventing you from installing or launching the new version of iTunes. Here is an article that will help you completely uninstall iTunes and all related components:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

And here is the link that will help you download iTunes again once you have completed the uninstallation:

I just downloaded itunes and was just about to plug in my ipod but then hesitated because I didn't know whether if I would lose all my songs or not. Will I lose my songs if I connect it to the new itunes? Thank You for your help!

    From your OLD computer...
Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..
