Downloading itunes9

I tried to this and ever since I did an error message keeps coming up saying "the software required for communicating with ipods and mobile phones was not installed correctly. Do you want itunes to try and repair this for you" I answer "yes" but the error message just keeps popping up again. I have tried uninstalling itunes and reinstalling about 4 times

Okay. The 64-bit instructions in that document still aren't quite accurate for 64-bit versions of Vista and 7 ... so it's worth running through them again, with the exception that when you get to *step 9* of the *Verify iTunes and related components are completely uninstalled* section, proceed with the following modified instructions instead:
(9) Right-click the Apple folder (if it exists), choose Delete, and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue.
Note: If you have a 64-bit version of the Windows OS, continue with step #10. Otherwise, skip to step #17.
(10) Open the Program Files (x86) folder.
(11) Right-click the iTunes folder (if it still exists), choose Delete, and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.
(12) Right-click the iPod folder, choose Delete, and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue.
(13) Right-click the QuickTime folder (if it exists), choose Delete, and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue.
(14) Right-click the Bonjour folder (if it exists), choose Delete, and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue.
(15) Open the Common Files folder.
(16) Right-click the Apple folder (if it exists), choose Delete, and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue.
(17) Open Local Disk (C:) located in Computer or whichever hard disk your operating system is installed on.
(18) Open the Windows folder.
(19) For 32-bit versions of Windows: Open the System32 folder.
For 64-bit versions of Windows: Open the Syswow64 folder.
(20) Right-click the QuickTime file (if it exists), choose Delete, and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue.
(21) Right-click the QuickTimeVR file (if it exists), choose Delete, and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue.
(22) Right-click the Recycle Bin and choose Empty Recycle Bin.
... any better luck with the modified instructions?

  • Downloading issue-no digital signature?

I tried to download itunes9 yesterday to my computer and there is a security warning after I run it that says that it can't be downloaded because there is no digital signature. I tried the 8 version and it said the same thing. I've tried to turn off my security settings for the download and it still didn't work. Please help, I have a useless ipod if I can't even get itunes downloaded!

This is a brand new laptop and I'm already having internet issues.
Yeah ... internet issues of some sort of another are typically behind this. Sometimes the "different browser" trick can get us past them. (Firefox handles network connections a bit differently from the other browsers, so sometimes Firefox will work when the others don't ... or vice versa.)
If you're connecting wirelessly to a network, it might also be worth wandering off to somewhere with a connection to a different network and seeing if you can download a working installer from there. (It looks like with a bunch of these, the installers are getting mucked up coming through the wireless router, and connecting to a different router/network can get you a working installer.)

  • Problems downloading Itunes 11.1.5

I have been trying for hours to download the latest iTunes - 11.1.5.
I have tried on 3 different computers, in IE 11, Firefox, Chrome using the direct download link (https://secure-appldnld.apple.com/iTunes11/031-3481.20140225.SdYYY/iTunesSetup.e xe)  provided in the various support questions.
In Chrome, download gets to about 40Mb ish and then stops, displaying the error "Unknown network error.".
Firefox get upto someware around 95% done downloading and then fails with the message "Failed"
IE 11 it downloads about 110 mb and then fails with the result being "aborted" (as reported by the Dev tools Network Section).
I also have tried updating through the apple software updater (it sat at 9.10 Mb). The upgrade option through iTunes reports that the update server couldn't be found.
I did successfully download iTunes9, as well as the 1.2Gb file MacOSXServerUpd10.7.5.dmg (downloaded just to see if the download was an apple wide issue or just iTunes 11.
Is there any official off-site apple link where I could try to download iTunes 11? Or any other advice?
Running windows 7 Pro - fully updated, just reformated.

  • Transfering Library from PC to Laptop not working..help

I received a new laptop for Christmas. It is running Windows 7. My old PC is running XP. I downloaded Itunes9 on laptop and upgraded to itunes 9 on PC. I enabled ipod as disk. Copied Itunes folder onto ipod. Pasted folder in "My Music" on new computer. When I open up itunes, it is not able to play "cannot find file". I have tried "add folder to file" and it will play from "music" but not playlists and will copy 3 copies of each song into the library. With 3 coies of each song, it will not fit on the ipod. If I erase duplicates, It loses the file again.
I have done this procedure 3 times already (it takes forever with over 6000 songs) as well as tried just transfering it over the network and not even using the ipod. Please help!

    Hi Halfpin7
There have been quite a few posts about this. I think you are getting the "not found" because iTunes ( fresh install of v9 on a new PC) uses a different folder setup than an upgraded v9.
The old setup previous to v9:
    ...\Music\iTunes\iTunes Music
    The new setup in v9:
    ...\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media
    as explained here
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3847
So I think you have 2 choices
#1 Update to the new v9 scheme on the old PC, THEN copy/paste things over to the new laptop
#2 Change the new laptop to the old scheme by renaming the iTunes Media folder

  • This copy of iTunes is corrupted or not installed correctly.

After many tries (and failed attempts) to install the 9.0.3 update and getting this message above in the subject line I restarted, reinstalled again and succeeded (in the install)... until I tried to open iTunes to find that I still got the error. What do I do now? I'm not reinstalling OSX just to get iTunes working... anyone find a way to get iTunes to open? I need to sync my phone and can't with this problem. If I look at "get info" for iTunes it states the correct version 9.0.3.
    HELP! Thanks!

Same error here. iTunes launches fine, it just will not update.
Fresh 10.6.2 install on a brand new machine. Tried Software Update in multiple accounts, tried clean install (had to re-instal 9.0.1 from CD), tried cleaning out the update caches, and I tried downloading the standalone installer but get "The operation couldn't be completed (SafariErrorDomain error 1.)" when trying to mount the downloaded iTunes9.0.3 image (I believe that's an invalid checksum, at least that's what the finder says when I try to mount the image directly). Skipping the checksum check allows it to mount but the install fails.
I've had this issue before and managed to successfully run the stand-alone installer, but no joy here today trying that. Every other update installed fine.

  • My itunes says there is a new version

i have recently download itunes9 and last night it says 9.3 is ready to download. is there a difference
    should i do this
i have dial up and its a bit broken

It is 9.0.3: The main improvement is the fact that "iTunes no longer ignores your Remember Password For Purchases setting". It also addresses syncing issues with iPods for some smart playlists and podcasts. It also resolves a problem in which iTunes occasionally can't recognize when an iPod is connected.
If you suffer from any issue above, it's worth the update.

  • "Error writing to file: C:\Program Files\iTunes\IpodUpaterEXT.dll

Recently Ive been trying to download Itunes9 for my dell ( using windows vista) and Ive successfully download quicktime however when it comes to downloading itunes itself, ive bee receiving a message stating "Error writing to file: C:\Program Files\iTunes\IpodUpaterEXT.dll. Varify that you have access to that directory"
Why am i constantly recieving this? I tried uninstalling everything and re-installing again but i keep recieving the same message. Can anyone help me out?

"Error writing to file: C:\Program Files\iTunes\IpodUpaterEXT.dll. Varify that you have access to that directory"
That sort of message can be caused by file/disk damage. So try running a disk check over your C drive, as per the instructions in the following document. (Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.)
[Check your hard disk for errors|http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Check-your-hard-disk-fo r-errors]
Does the disk check find/repair any errors? If so, try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

"Error writing to file: C:\Program Files\iTunes\IpodUpaterEXT.dll. Varify that you have access to that directory"
That sort of error message often indicates that the file in question is damaged and the installer can't remove it in order to replace it with the new version.
Try running a disk check over your C drive. Does that find/repair any errors? If so, does an iTunes install go through properly afterwards?

  • Itunes install stops

so i have a new hp mini 210. and ive been trying to download itunes9.2 and everytime it gets 10mb into the download it comes up with a message saying "the connection with the server was reset."
anyone got a clue of whats going on or what to do? or the number to actually call apple?

Are you downloading the installer using Apple Software update for Windows, sure? Or are you getting an iTunesSetup.exe (via a web browser) from the following Apple web page?

  • TA48312 where can I download iTunes 10.1 - my iPhone 3G won't run on iTunes9.2.1? I'm running PowerBkG4 & OS 10.4.11. Thanks Sean

Think this is not right somehow but I'm trying to sync an old iPhone 3G with this PBkG4 running iTunes 9 but it refuses and tells me I need iTunes 10.1 or higher. I can;t find this to download. Can anyone help?

iTunes 10.1 won't run on Mac OS X 10.4. You must buy Mac OS X 10.5 on DVD to use that iPhone with a G4 or G5 Mac; places such as Amazon sell it.
As iTunes 10.1 won't run on any configuration which iTunes 10.5.3 won't run on, Apple no longer makes it available to the public.

  • Can't find my old music after updating to iTunes9

I am running Windows7 64-bit. I was having a LOT of trouble getting iTunes to open once I "updated" to the newest iTunes. After about a week of trying I finally got iTunes to open (after disabling "Bonjour").
Now that I have iTunes open, I can not find my some of my music and I can't open the music that is on my iPod. While trying everything to get iTunes to open, I may have deleted somethings...
Is there any way I can re download the albums I've already purchased from iTunes without paying for them again? Or is there somewhere on my computer that I should be looking for these songs? And how can I get iTunes to know that the content on my iPod belongs to this iTunes without deleting everything on the iPod?
I have been working with issues surrounding iTunes every since I "Updated" to iTunes9 and will never update iTunes again!
Please let me know if anyone knows the answers to any of my questions.
    Thanks,
