Downloading keynote document to ipad

Before a recent ios update, it was easy to save and then move a Keynote document from the cloud to my ipad for use when I don't have internet access.   Now, I can not figure out how to do it.  Quite embarrassing a few days ago when I thought it was on my device and it was not, and the school that I was in would not let me on their internet!  I've been able to successfully do this for the past 3-4 years.  Not at all happy with Apple for making things "easier!"  Can someone help?

I believe you go to Settings>Keynote turn Use iCloud to Off, then re-open Keynote and you'll get a prompt asking if you want to keep the presentation on your iPad.  To resume using iCloud go back to settings and turn it back on.

No, those are different apps... The one for your Mac is the computer version, and looks different. Both are developed for their separate OS's: iOS and OSX.

  • TS3991 I downloaded keynote to my iPad. Do I have to buy it again for my phone?

I downloaded Keynote to my iPad and I can't seem to get it on my I phone without buying it again! Is this the only option?

Ok. On the iPad, go to the App Store then tap Purchased at the bottom and see if it shows Keynote there (it will say OPEN instead of a cloud symbol)
If it does show, go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID and Password and see if Keynote shows up there.
If it does, go to your iPhone, go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Tap your Apple ID > Tap Sign Out.
    Restart your iPhone.
Go back to Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Sign in with your Apple ID and Password.
Check the App Store App > Updates > Purchased for Keynote.
If it still doesn't show up there, contact the iTunes Store: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/

  • Syncing Keynote document to Ipad

Hi. I am trying to sync a Keynote document from my MacBook Pro (MBP) to my iPad. On the MBP I am running OS X 10.6, iTunes 10 and Keynote 09 (version 5.0.4).
On the iPad, I click the "down arrow" at the bottom of the screen, select Copy From iTunes, then select the Keynote document from the list. The iPad attempts to import the document, but returns the error message "Presentation couldn't be copied. Keynote only supports documents saved with iWork 09."
I believe I am using iWork 09 and Keynote 09 on my MBP. Do I need a newer update of this software? If so, how do I get it? Or might the problem lie elsewhere? Thanks

Keynote from iWork 09 is version 5.0.4, so that should work.
Maybe the presentation you tried to copy was created with an older version of Keynote? I have some of those and Keynote on the iPad doesn't accept them either. Try loading it into Keynote (on the Mac), save it as a copy and then try to transfer that copy.

  • Cannot open, share or download Pages document from iPad or iCloud

    Hi,
My girlfriend's sister is having some trouble where one specific pages document will not open and we cannot do anything with it (i.e. open, save as PDF, email as word file etc).
In iCloud you get the error "You need a newer version of pages to open this document".
On the iPad, error is "Document can't be opened".
She has pages version 1.7.2 on the iPad which is the latest version in the Apple Store.
I managed to get a pages file (or package) onto my PC to have a look at it and it is in the form of a folder called "name.pages-tef" and inside are the following:
If I open Index.db with notepad I can see her notes but they're surrounded by copious amounts of nonsensical code. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

The following link gets into the real details of the different file formats for Pages documents (there are three versions).  The "-tef" file format is specifically for iOS and is translated to a mac format when using the file on a mac.  One question is how was the file created?  On a mac or on the ipad?
At any rate, around half way through the article is the beginning discussion of the -tef format.  This may explain some of your issues.

  • Keynote question for iPad and MacBook Pro

I am currently using keynote on my MacBook Pro.  Do I need to download keynote for my iPad if I want to create presentations for the iPad, as some of the transitions in the laptop version do not translate tot he iPad.  Can both versions of keynote live on my MacBook Pro in the event that I create the presentations on the laptop using the iPad version and transfer to my iPad for the presentation?

The pad version is different than the mac version ... Different ios.  If you want to create on the pad, you need the pad version.  But understand that some of the features of the full blown mac app do not work on the pad.

  • Is there a way to link to document on ipad from keynote slide?

Is there a way to link to a document on ipad in a keynote slide?  Don't want to link to external webpage.  Thanks.

Better to ask in the community dedicated to iWork for iOS. Not all of us here have iPads.

Tap on the pdf document in order to open it, When you have the PDF file open on the screen - tap anywhere on the open document and an arrow will apper in the upper right corner of the screen - tap that arrow and a window will popup for Open In options. Select Open In Adobe Reader and the PDF will open in Adobe Reader and it will be saved in that app.

How can the iPad sync some songs if iTunes can't see the iPad?
You need to get iTunes to see the iPad:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
    Or
    See
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    - I would start with
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
    - Then do the other actions of:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
paying special attention to item #5
    - New cable and different USB port
    - Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

  • Start Keynote document from another iPad app

    Hello,
We would like to call Keynote from an iPad application we made. It seems that there is no URI scheme supported.
We have the document in our application's sandbox and the goal is to call Keynote to make it open this document.
    Thanks for your help.
    Felix

It is awful that Apple has dropped this functionality from Keynote. For me as university teacher this is quite painful and requires major revisions for nothing and without any real satisfying solution, not even with AppleScript. All my courses and lectures are made with Keynote and since complex, made from many files, which I could easily swap as needed, a system that made good use of this wonderful file linking feature as available in previous versions.
I find it appalling that Apple has started to neglect power users like me in recent years!

My mailing system won't work, and I see many here have had the same problem. so I tried the suggestions I could find. Last thing I tried was deleting my mailing account, so that I could restore it again. Internet is working, everything else is working, plenty of space BUT now my email won't even be restored. Not any of my other mailing accounts either for that matter.
    Background information:
I use yahoo (the one I prefer by far), sometimes gmail, hotmail if I absolutely have to
My ipad is ipad 2, 1 year old
problem with the mailing system started less than a month ago
iåproblem was that it wouldnt refresh and find new mails, also took a long time sending mails

  • I can't download a document from iCloud on my iPad

I cannot download a document (over 100MB ) from iCloud on my iPad . Any idea why? I still have enough space.

You do have to consider document syncing realistically. Whilst download speeds of 16, 32 or 50 Mbps are quite common, upload speeds are another matter, with many ISP's providing users with little more than 1 Mbps. At 1 Mbps a 250 MB document will take in excess of half an hour. Such times may well cause problems if documents are regularly being opened and edited on multiple devices.

  • How do I download cloud document to local for offline access on iPad?

    see title

    Hi,
Once you open the PDF documents in Adobe Document Cloud (formerly known as Acrobat.com), the temporary copies of the cloud documents will be stored on your iPad.  If you are offline for a relatively short period of time, you can still view those documents.
Currently, Acrobat DC for iOS does not provide the user interface (a button or menu item) to permanently download PDF documents from Adobe Document Cloud to your iPad for offline viewing.
Here are the two options that I can think of.  (You can do one of the following options while you still have Internet access.)
    (a) Using Safari
    Open Safari on your iPad.
Go to Acrobat Document Cloud (https://cloud.acrobat.com/).
Sign in with your Adobe ID.
Select the PDF document that you want to download to your iPad.
Tap Download.  This will cause the PDF document to be opened in Safari.
Tap anywhere in the PDF document to show the secondary toolbar.
    Tap "Open in...".
    Select "Open in Adobe Acrobat".
    (b) Using Mail
Open the PDF document that you want to store locally on your iPad.
    Tap the Share icon.
    Select Share File.
Select "Share Original Document" in the Share File dialog.
    Tap Mail.
    Send email to yourself.
Open the email with the PDF attachment on your iPad.
Open the email attachment in Acrobat DC for iOS.
Once the PDF document is opened in Acrobat DC for iOS, it is stored locally on your iPad.
Please note that you will have two PDF documents with the same file name. The one is stored locally on your iPad, whereas the other is stored on Adobe Document Cloud.
Please let us know if you have additional questions.
