Downloading MP3s from Amazon

I downloaded an MP3 from Amazon. The .amz file went to the stacks Download folder. When I dbl click the file, iTunes opens but the song is nowhere to be found. I have the "amazon mp3 downloader app". The original .amz file is still on my desktop. Tried downloading another MP3 song; same thing happens...song doesn't appear in iTunes anywhere.
One of my playlists is "M3U Internet Stream"; I think that's Amazon downloads...but it's empty.
Running iTunes 10.1. I've downloaded several songs from Amazon in the past. Didn't have this problem until recently.

There doesn't appear to be any pattern to this, but when I am downloading new MP3s into iTunes (9.0.2) either from Amazon or eMusic, some of them come in normally and some of them come in without allowing me to edit any of the song information. This can happen even within one album, when all the songs are arriving in the library during the same download session. And yet some allow editing and some don't.
When I right-click on Get Info for either the album's folder or any of the individual files having this problem, it still tells me that I can read and write, under Ownership & Permissions.
Anyone have any ideas how to re-establish editing capability under these circumstances?
actually, i started a thread sometime ago about that exact same problem - with no result. in the end i waited it out and, since upgrading to iTunes 9.x, all is back to normal. no help to you at this point but ... just so you know you're not alone.
what you can try (and i did not at the time - so your milage may vary) is this by *Chris CA*
+Quit iTunes.+
+Open a Finder window.+
+Go to \Music\ folder.+
+Right click the \iTunes\ folder and Get info.+
+Go to the Sharing & Permissions tab.+
+Make sure your username has Read & Write privileges.+
+Directly below are ( + ) and ( - ) signs next to a little gear with a down arrow+
+Click the gear and select Apply to enclosed items.+
+Open iTunes then try again.+
does that work for you ?

I'm guessing you mean your Amazon mp3s? Download them to your computer. Import to iTunes. Sync your iPad.

  • Downloading music from Amazon straight to Itunes

So when I download music from Amazon straight into ITunes and the song appears in ITunes and plays in there but will not synch to my IPod becuase it says that the file cannot be found...I am just screwed?

The default location for Amazon music is a folder called "Amazon MP3" inside your your Music folder on your main hard drive. What operating system do you have? If it's XP you can find this folder as follows: C>Documents & Settings>Your Name>My Documents>My Music>Amazon MP3.
See if you can find this folder. Look inside to see if the song file is here.

But on MACbook when I use two fingers on my trackpad there is only few options like and one of them is 'save link as' but not 'save file as'

  • Is it possible to download ebooks from amazon into itunes and then sync to the ipad2 without wi-fi?

We have an ipad2 without wi-fi or 3G. We download games with itunes onto a PC and then sync to the ipad. We are not able to do this with ebooks using kindle or nook for ipad. Is wi-fi necessary in order to download books from Amazon/ Barnes & Nobles?

It is necessary for Amazon's Kindle app as you download the ebooks directly (wirelessly) into the app from the Amazon site, it's not done via iTunes (I don't think that there is any other way, though I haven't checked their website). Don't know about Barnes & Noble as I havn't used it. If you don't have a wireless network yourself do you have any coffee shops etc nearby that you could use for downloading the ebooks ?

  • Can I download ebook from amazon

How do I download Ebooks from Amazon and read in IBook? I know there is a Kindle app for my IPad. But I like to use IBook for reading? Must I do some kind of conversion? If so how? The kind of books I read are more likely to be on amazon than in the IBook store.

I use Calibre all the time. As others have said: e-books purchased from Apple's iBookstore have Apple DRM unless the publisher specifically offered a DRM-free e-book. Kindle e-books have both an Amazon proprietary format and may have Kindle DRM too. None of these protected formats can be legally converted to anything else.  If you have an e-book in open EPUB format, it should read fine on the iOS iBook devices, but it will never read on the Kindle becuase Bezos has said the Kindle will never support EPUB.
If you have a non-DRM protected e-book file in EPUB or any other format including some word processor files, chances are that Calibre can convert it to a readable file on the iPad, iPhone, Kobo or Kindle devices. Calibre is a format converter. Just play around with the source and destination menus on Calibre.
How well the book looks on the iBook or Kindle or whatever-reading device depends more on the quality of the source file than anything Apple does. I hope this helps.

  • Unable to download music from Amazon MP3 app

I'm no longer able to download music from the Amazon app. My wifi is working fine. I no longer get that error message. But when I hit the download button, it just says "retry" after about 15 seconds. Can't seem to figure out what the problem is...

Those values (20 gig total) sound like you're looking at how space that you have in the cloud for your backups - how much space do you have on your actual iPad : Settings > General > About > Available ?

  • I purchased an album from amazon, how can i download it from Amazon cloud to my itunes on my iphone

I purchased an album from Amazon on my iPhone last night. The album is in Amazon Cloud and I have downloaded it to my device. The album, however, does not show up in my iTunes on my phone, I can only see it if I go into Amazon Cloud Player app.  Is there a way I can transfer those songs from Amazon Cloud Player to my iTunes music app on my phone?

You can get the Amazon app for your iPhone: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/amazon-cloud-player/id510855668?mt=8
However, this will not add the music to your iTunes library. You will need to use it for your Amazon music and the iPhone built in Music app for your iTunes music.

If your music has a cloud icon means the music is not on your iPhone/computer iTunes locally.
You can download the music through Purchased tab then sync your iPhone with the music selected.

  • Downloading .mp3s from the Web

    Hi all,
I've just encountered a slight problem on my BlackBerry 9800 Torch when downloading .mp3 files from the web.
What I often do is send the files to my Gmail address from my computer as attached files, then login to Gmail from my BB and download them onto my device there.
Thing is, it doesn't always work : some files go to the music section (which is where I expect and intend them to appear) but some mysteriously disappear, don't know where to look to find them.
Has anyone ever encountered this problem before? If so, any help would be greatly appreciated !
    Thanks
EDIT : I ended up finding them when I connected my device to my computer. Doesn't expalin where they went on the phone but at least I found them !

It's Safari 4 not Quicktime that causes this... Safari 4 doesn't support downloading non-embedded media. Safari now supports html 5 might be the reason why. Media in html 5 isn't handle by plugins. Use Firefox instead.

  • Download mp3 from email

When I download an mp3 from an email on my iPhone 5, where does it go?

No. You will need an App that can directly handle MP3's .
    The Music App cannot.
Where does it say its downloading?   If it came as an attatchment its already on your phone, you just need to open it in an app that can handle it, so it would not need to download.
If its just a link to the mp3 file, then it would download in Safari, and then offer to open it in an App that can play it if you have one, otherwise it would not download.

Can I download apps from my kindle cloud to my iPad?

No, iOS devices; iPhones, iPads and iPods Touch, are a closed ecosystem. You can only install apps from the iTunes App Store on your iPad.

  • OmG! Lost entire library, playlists, ratings - last action taken was downloading album from Amazon, using Amazon mp3 downloader...  I have a backup drive, but I don't know what to do.  Please help!

I used the Amazon downloader for the first time last night.  Today, my entire itunes library vanished:  ITunes opened as if it were a brand new installation, with no content at all.  I had a very large library.  I had 50 playlists. I had many purchased songs from iTunes.  None of it is in iTunes right now.
    I have two problems.
First, I want to know how and why this happened.
Second, I want to know how to restore my iTunes library and iTunes data (ratings, playlists, etc) into iTunes.
I have an HP Simple Save drive that is hooked up to the computer, and presumably backed up the iTunes data.  I don't know how to restore it though, and I don't know why this happened.
Please, dear iTunes Gurus, help me fix this!

    beckijc wrote:
now do I have to do that everytime i open it? or should i change it somehow?
No, you should not have to do it everytinme.
However, as part of your regular backup plan (you do have one, yes?) make sure to backup the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder.

  • Can I download ebooks from Amazon to My Ipad?

I used my netbook to download kindle ebooks directly to my Kindle Device and would like to know if I can download those that are say that are available for Amazon or Apple? I know I can download to my PC and transfer to my Appile Ipad but I thinkk there may be a way to download directly to my ipad just like it will to my Kindle Device but I don't know anything about electronics and and have no idea if this can be done or if I must downolad to my PC and transfer using a USB poirt? If I need to download the books via USB, could someone please tell me how to do this? I am totally illierate when it comes to electronics and I have no idea what can be done or how to do it? So, I would appreicate any any assistance you can provide. I have found most of you are so savvy in the electronic field and you are the ones who help me get through the basic's I sould know. But, I am a bit older than you guys and I am struggling to read my email and shop online. I have two sons who are electronic engineers but they are no help with me. They are into programming and networking andy they know how to do all thses things but cannot teach me. They take my computer and do what it needs but do not explain it to me. lol
I appreciate being able to bring my concerns to your attention and look forward to your epertise and any help I can get. I need to ask another question about downlloading CD's to my Apple Ipad. I have the 3rd generation with 32g memory. And I thought it should hold plenty ouof music but when my granddaughter downoad about 5 CD's she said I did not have enough memory for more?? It this all it will hold? I have a lot of email and games on my Ipad but only use a few and I have about 25 ebooks.  I just had no idea what to expect but thought it would hold more that it is? I am not sure she did properly? I will go back and delete many of the songs on the CD's I don't want, but that still does not leave much room for more music. I do not watch movies or video's at all. Just play games and use my email. I may have my email set up to hold too many since I emails from 2011!  I realize it is ridiiculous but I have not been well and just have not cleaned out my old emails. So, I save for a reason but most I just have not taken time to do becuase it takes so long to go through them individually and delete each one and there are some on each page that I want to keep. Is theire are way to archive old emails you may need later and if so, would it clear up space?
I have an Acer Netbook, AspireOne 721 without a CD drive and my computer shows, I have only used about 1/3 of the memory so it I should be okay but how can I determine the amount used on my Ipad? Please no laughing, I am doing the best I can for a disabled senoir citizen.
    Thanks,
    scmoonbeam

Download the Kindle App for your iPad. You can download and read all of your Amazon books and read them with the Kindle app.
Amazon.com: Kindle for iPad - Read Kindle eBooks on your iPad
There is no way that 5 CD's should be eating up all of the storage on your iPad. But if you have a ton of games on the iPad, they can take up a lot of space. But you can check your available space in Setrings>General>Usage>Storage.

  • Download mp3 from link

    Hi,
I saw a post on this question from Jan '06, but the answer
    was in php not asp.
The question is: How do I go about adding a link to a MP3
file so that when it is
clicked on, it does not play in the visitor's default music
    player, but brings up the
download menu. Also, do I put the code in the body or head
    section.
    Thanks for the help,
    Gwen

Zip it and point to the zip file
