Downloading music previously bought from itunes

I have a new laptop and iphone - can I download the music I have bought in the past from itunes onto my new laptop?
I thought it would come up in purchased?

Hi, you only get one download so transfer your music library from the old computer onto the new one and sync your new iphone to that

  • Does downloading music and films from iTunes use up data?

My broadband internet data plan at home is not unlimited. I have an allowance of 20GB a month. When downloading music and films from iTunes on my PC, will it eat up internet data? It is important that I keep within the limits of my data plan as I am short of money.

Yes. All your Internet traffic is using up that allowance. Each file you download will use up its own size, plus some handshaking data, and the traffic caused by browsing the store to look for it in the first place.

  • How do I get the music I bought from iTunes on my phone back after it has been deleted?

After I bought all the music I tried backing it up on my computer but it didn't sync all the songs I had boughten. So when I went back to iTunes to just see if I could buy them all over again a box popped up and said that I had already purchased this song. So how do I get it back if it is not on my computer or on my phone?

HT2519, look that up on support.apple.com in the search bar in the top right hand corner, it will teach you how to download past purchases to your iTunes library or whatever means you so chose through the article it should walk you through it. You ARE allowed to download past purchased music, but like someone previously stated, only in the USA.

  • HT1353 Can you download radio to the old 2nd generation ipod nano? There is no category for downloads, only stuff bought from iTunes.

My 3rd generation ipod nano has blanked out on me. I have a 2nd generation ipod, was able to download my music from my iTunes library on it, but it would not download radio programmes from my download library. There is no category on the ipod for downloads, is this because it doesnt accept them?

It depends on what you mean by radio programs exactly.  Where were they originally downloaded from? Do they appear in the music category of your iTunes library?

  • Downloading music to mac from iTunes/icloud

My music in itunes is uploaded and/or matched via icloud: How do I download (to my mac) all music at once?  I know how to download one song at a time, but cannot figure out how to "download all" as stated in the Help section. I know to select all via command+A, but not how to click on "download all". Thanks for the solution !

Same issue with one recent purchase (Midnight in Paris).
    My response to Apple below.
    Paul
    Hi,
Please provide me with a refund. I will purchase the film on DVD instead.
I'm disappointed in your cut-and-paste response to be honest. I understand you must get a lot of support requests but trying to understand each individual case helps everyone ultimately.
I've done everything in your many support documents. It was a waste of time. I explained in the original case a specific problem (partial file download). That in itself ruled out most the support article fixes.
I tried different OS X user account, on different computer, using different network. I've deleted Downloads temp folder. I'm using latest iTunes version. Latest OS X version on iMac and MacBook Pro. I've disabled firewall. My internet connection is perfectly robust, reliable and fast.
I even downloaded another much larger movie from iTunes successfully on same day.
Have you considered that the problem might be with Apple's servers, the actual file, or high demand for the newly released movie?
    Regards,
    Paul

  • HT1373 I have a new Ipad with retina display but two issues with itunes 1) I can not syncronize films&music with the library on my mac and 2) When I download music or films from itunes to my ipad from itunes store the download never finishes. Any help??

I have a two problems with my new Ipad 2 operating system iOS 6.1.3
    1) I can not syncronize with my itunes purchaces that I have on my mac book pro (operating system mountain lion)
    2) When i purchase items from itunes store the downloads never finishes
I have tried starting and re-starting. Resetting the Ipad to original settings and non of this have worked. Any idea to what I should do?
    Thanks a lot, Josephine

That's one of the weird things.. it recognizes it maybe 10% of the time. And usually, only after I do the two-button reset. Problem is.. since it won't charge above 2%, anytime I try to do a restore or anything like that using iTunes, my device shuts off and I lose whatever progress I'd made.
So, an update... after reading through a bunch of similar complaints (there are literally 1000's of them so there's NO WAY this isn't somehow ios7 related, thanks a lot APPLE ) I decided to try a restore in recovery mode. After 3 hours and several disconnections... I ended up having to just set it up as a new iPad, as the restore did nothing. Weirdly though... as I was doing the restore in recovery mode.. I noticed I'd gotten up to a 10% charge.. higher than it's been since September, so after setting it up as a new device, I turned it off and plugged it in using the wall charger. 2 hours later and I was up to 38%. Still not great, as my iPad, before ios7 could've fully charged twice in the amount of time it took for me to now get 28% more of a charge. And that's with a fully cleaned out device.. so that really ***** and I'm now more confused than ever.
But I'm gonna leave it overnight charging and see what I come up with tomorrow. Sadly, when I paid $600 for it in February, I never expected to have to play "wait and see" with it...

  • How do I download a film bought from iTunes onto my iPad.  I never had a problem before I had iCloud.

How do I download a film from iTunes onto my iPad.  It worked ok before iCloud, now I'm struggling.

    Try this:
    Launch iTunes Store.
    Tap "Purchased" tab.
Tap "Movies" tab at top of screen.
    Tap "Not on This iPad".
Tap the movie you want to download.
Tap the "iCloud download" icon (the downward-pointing arrow coming out of the cloud icon).
Once the movie downloads, it should be available in the Videos app.

  • Do you need Internet acess to watch a music video bought from iTunes

I want to buy a MUSIC VIDEO off of iTunes but I don't want to wait for our Internet to load it each time I want to watch it so if I buy one I want to make sure I can watch it no matter where and when is that possible. I would buy it off my iPod touch and load it right off the Internet.

When you buy it, then it is stored on your computer.  You do not need internet to acces it at all.

  • Music I bought from iTunes will no longer play or be added to iTunes

I bought the soundtrack for Journey by Austin Wintory last year on iTunes, but now some of the tracks on his album will no longer play. I tried to re-add the album to iTunes, but only 11/18 tracks have actually been added back. I have tried to add the missing files manually but iTunes will not show them in the library, nor will it allow me to re-download them in "Download Previous Purchases". If anyone has any advice on how to solve this, it'd be a great help. Thanks.

  • Can't download music and movies from iTunes

I upgraded my ipad2 to ios5.1  and after that whenever I open iTunes from my iPad or pc I can only download books from iBooks and podcasts.
    Please help!

Unfortunately downgrading the OS on the device is not supported by Apple.
I can tell you this - Google can turn up a whole world of possibilities if you are looking for an answer to something that is not supported.
Before you do anything else - were you able to download other content before you upgraded? Music? Movies? As far as I know - the content in that article was the only content that was available in India anyway and updating the iOS should have made no bearing on what you can download.

  • I can't play music videos bought from iTunes

So I bought 3 videos from that triple play, 2 for 1 sale on itunes. I loaded all three videos unto my iphone via playlist because for some reason, they wouldn't sync even though the check mark for music videos is on. Anyway, so I transferred them over, but the videos don't play. It only plays sound, but no video. Am I missing something here? I thought I was able to play music videos on the iphone? That's the only reason why I bought those videos, I don't even have an actual video ipod...the only other ipod I have is my super old 3rd gen...any suggestions on how to get this working?

in iPod, what option are you selecting to play the music videos?
You should select Video. If you view by artist or playlist, then only the music will play.
