Downloading my photostream pics to laptop

I am trying to move the 1000 or so photos from Photostream from my phone to my laptop.  When I go into Aperture to download it is only showing me the photos that are on my camera roll.  How do I get access to all the photostream files?

Go to System Preferences > iCloud, then select the checkbox for Photos (or Photo Stream). Click the Options button and verify that the My Photo Stream checkbox is selected. Open the application you want to use with Photo Stream (iPhoto or Aperture) and confirm that My Photo Stream is turned on in that application.
