Downloading new Numbers glitch

Hello,
Earlier today, App Store told me I had 4 updates - Pages, Numbers, Keynote and Safari. Rather than ‘download all’, I first started the Pages download, then decided to download Numbers at the same time but, noticing that the calculated time for doing so was large, I paused it.
Pages downloaded and installed successfully, as did Keynote and Safari, BUT when Safari had finished installing, the App Store window closed BEFORE I clicked ‘resume’ for the paused Numbers download.
Now, if I try to open a Numbers document I get the message ‘Numbers cannot be opened whilst it is being updated’.
If I go back to App Store and click Updates, I am told there are none and Numbers is not listed as having been updated (Pages, Keynote and Safari are), nor is it listed as ‘updating’.
If I access Apps through iTunes Store, I do see Numbers tagged as ‘updating’.
So I’m stuck in the middle! I cannot use my old Numbers docs, and the new Numbers is stuck somewhere.
Any hints as to how to proceed?

Sorry - I should have said that I am using MacBook late 2008 and OSX 10.9.2 and it was Numbers 3.2 I was attempting to download.
Also, have just looked in my HD: Applications folder. Naturally, Numbers 3.1 is still there and Numbers 3.2 is listed also but with a downloading symbol. It says it has downloaded 320 KB which was the amount when I clicked ‘pause’.
Should I trash this and try again?

Downloaded new numbers...can't open it

I took the advice of another user who told me to get rid of it on my dock and reopen from my launchpad...still isn't working..the colored ball keeps spinning. any other advice?

Uninstall an app
Hold down the app’s icon in Launchpad until all the icons start to jiggle, and then click the app’s delete button (x) to uninstall the app. If you don‘t see a delete button, you can‘t uninstall the app.
You can reinstall the app by viewing the App Store Purchases list and clicking the Install button for the app.

If you are running Mavericks, and the Mac App store says you are up to date, then you have Numbers 3.2 as well as Numbers 2.3. You are getting the "Need a newer version message because your Mac is trying to open the document using Numbers 2.3.
Launch Numbers 3, then open the document from within that app, or right click/control-click the document and choose Open with Numbers 3.x.

So, I do download it to my imac, make changes, save and then 'move to icloud'. But I don't see the changes when I open the spreadsheet again in my numbers app.
Seems to not be working properly.

Are you launching Numbers from an icon in your Dock? Installing the update does not change the Dock icons & it does not remove the older versions. Go to your Applications folder & launch the new Numbers from there then right-click on the Dock icon & select Options > Keep in Dock.
Installing new versions of iWork has never replaced existing versions. This is nothing new. The only thing new is that the '09 apps are moved to an iWork '09 folder if they were purchased from the Mac App Store. If they were installed from disk they should already be in a separate folder in Applications.

I downloaded the New numbers iOS and now i can't open any numbers documents

I just recently downloaded the new Mavricks update and now all my numbers Documents say i need to download the new system before opening. I alread have the new numbers system so i am unsure of what I need to do to fix it. I use numbers all day for my job so not having it is really not an option.

Go to the App Store via the Dock or by starting the program from your Applications folder. Sign in with your Apple ID/Password and type Numbers in the search box on the top right. That should let you navigate to the Numbers download.

Normally, that would be excellent advice. But in this case it is not thought to be necessary.
The new copies will be installed "loose" in the Applications folder. The originals are kept in the iWork folder in the Applications folder. If you do not like the new versions, they can be discarded and the original versions will be used again.
The new versions have many new iCloud features, but some users have complained that key features they require are missing. It is thought that Apple will add them over time.

When I check for upgrades, my computer "No updates available" and says "OS X Update Version 10.9.2 installed Mar 9, 2014."
When I go to the app store to get the new Numbers, it says "installed".
I shut down and rebooted my computer, but I still get the message that says I need new Numbers to open the spreadsheet that I want to open. I can open other spreadsheets, those all work. I just can't open the one I want. Please help. I need the data on that spreadsheet TODAY!!!

Close mail and reboot the iPad.
Double tap the home button to get to the open apps. Then swipe up on the mail app from the multitasking display to close the app.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Cannot download new version or uninstall Itunes

I cannot download new version of Itunes or uninstall my old one. It says I am missing itunes.msi file. Can anyone help? I am stuck in Itunes limbo.

When you get that msi message, you need to do an installer cleanup.
I will give you a method for full removal and cleanup of iTunes and related programs followed by install. You may be able to get way with just removing and cleaning up iTunes itself, but I have given the whole method in case you need it.
Download a fresh copy of iTunes and the stand alone version of Quicktime (the one without iTunes)

Download and install Microsoft Installer cleanup utility, there are instructions on the page as well as the download. Note that what you download is the installer not the program – you have to run it to install the program.
To run the program – All Programs>>Windows Install Cleanup

*If you hit a problem with one of the uninstalls don't worry*, carry on with the deleting of files and folders as directed in the method.
When you get to deleting Quicktime files in the system32 folder as advised in the method, you can delete any file or folder with Quicktime in the name.
Restart your PC.
Run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility. (Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up)
Remove any references you find to the programs you removed - strictly speaking you only need to worry about those programs where the uninstall failed.
If you don’t see an entry for one of the programs that did not uninstall, look out for blank entries or numeric entries that look like version numbers e.g. 7.x for Quicktime or 1.x for Bonjour.
restart your PC
Install the stand alone Quicktime and check that it works.
If it does, install iTunes.

Attempts to download new version iTunes on my laptop (Vista) I continue to receive msg: Error writing to file: C:\Config.Ms01\random series of numbers and letters, different with every attempt) "Verify you that you have access to that directory". I am the Administrator on my laptop. Frustrated - please advise.

Try the technique in Repair security permissions for iTunes for Windows but applied to the C:\Config.Ms01 folder.

My iTunes will not download new episodes. I tried getting the newest version of iTunes, logging in and out, and nothing is working.
