Make sure your device has enough available space to install the update. Use iTunes to update if you don't have enough space, or remove content from your device. Tap Settings > General > Usage to see how much space your content uses.

Unablt to download new operating system software

I am unable to download the new operating system software for my iPhone. As I recall, when I had this problem in the past, the solution was to turn off my firewall. I have tried that and it doesn't work. Any other tricks I should be aware of?

As provided else where Store is currently unavailable probably since it is the middle of the night on West Coast when Apple would do maintenance
it is nothing to do with iOS 8 or any other iPhone issues
The servers are not available regardless of the method used to access Mac Windows PC etc etc

I phone 3G Will not Download New Operating System?

Is there any reason that the I-phone can download applications and music, but when it comes to the operating system for 4.0 it asks you to update but never gets beyond 10%? Have all the latest updates, checked for download abilities, plug in the phone, get the upgrade prompt and it will just sit for hour and never get beyond 10%. Is there a trick or is this just another download that doesn't work?

I'm glad there are more people with this problem actually. Because this gave me time to read up on it. I am VERY glad that it wouldn't install for me. My phone has been on the slow side lately anyway, I think i put too much music on it so now when flipping from one app to another, it takes way longer that ever it has. Likely this is a result of not having enough room to move stuff around. Cant wait for a phone with a big enough drive to have at least half of my music. 32 is just not enough.

Problems downloading new operating system

I was sent an update I pluged in my phone and then it started to update it deleted the old system and started to download the new system and then froze I inadvertinatly disconected the phone and pluged it right back in this was 2 hours ago. I now have apicture of the phone cord say it is not updateing the phone cord on the scree with the itune symble. The progress bar on the itues page has not moved in the last 2 hours how do I restore my phone.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook and Bluetooth and HP Simplepass complications since doing a Windows upgrade. Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant. Just download and run the application. Just to make sure all drivers and software are updated as well.
Here is a document on troubleshooting and using Bluetooth if needed. Under the tips for finding a Bluetooth device, there is a section on making sure the wireless communication is turned on. This is an important section.
Here is another document with some great information about Bluetooth fixes.
Here is a link to troubleshoot the HP Simplepass software.
The HP SimplePass Identity Protection Software must be updated to v8.00.57 or later. Here is a link to download the latest. You will have to uninstall the old software.

Downloaded new operating system, music wasnt in music library

i recently had a problem with my windows xp. my hal folder was missing or corrupt and could not log on to windows xp. finally got it to work by restoring in the same partition but not formatting but everyrthing was gone. recently downloaded vista but want to transfer all songs to itunes library. how do i do it?

What version of iOS is your iPhone running? If it's still on iOS 4.x, you have to connect your iPhone to iTunes on your computer to get it to the latest version of iOS, after which you can then update directly from you iPhone (though reports indicate that updating via iTunes is more likely to go smoothly, so you may wish to continue updating via that method).
If your iPhone is on iOS 5 or iOS 6, post back with specifics and we'll try to help further.

IPhone 3GS freezes during Backup

I have read the threads but still don't see the solution to the problem I am having.
I cannot backup my iPhone. Itunes runs a backup when I sync my iPhone and I usually cancel out because it takes forever. I have let backup run 12 hours and still it wasn't even near complete. Now, to get the OS4, it won't let me upgrade w/o a backup.
Any suggestions?

Hi, i have a 3gs 16gb, i have a problem since two days when i check safari, mail, msn just a moment after open the app this restart, and after 4 minutes restart alone, i think was a software problem and i restore today but when itunes was preparing the software to transfer on the iphone this restart again and appear wrong (9), but is recurrent, when i repit the process, just when itunes prepare the software to install this restart again...
please help me. i can solve that? or i need to go to technical assistance in my phone company?

This error occurs when the device unexpectedly loses its USB connection with iTunes. This can occur if the device is manually disconnected during the restore process. This issue can be resolved by performing USB troubleshooting, using a different USB dock-connector cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software.

IPhone 4 freezes during restore/upgrade to iOS 7.0.2

I have an iPhone 4 that was running iOS 6.1.3. I requested that my provider unlock my phone and they told me I had to back up and restore to proceed, which necessitated that I upgrade to iOS 7.0.2. When I tried to download the iOS 7.0.2 IPSW directly through iTunes, I received a message upon the completion of the download that the file was corrupted. I decided to bypass this step by downloading the IPSW directly from Apple and alt-clicking the Restore button to choose the file directly. Each time, the upgrade hangs about 30% of the way through, leaving me essentially with a bricked phone. Does anyone have any suggestions for how I might be able to successfully restore my phone?

IPhone 4s freezing during restore..

Hi guys,
I have recently moved to the UK from Australia and my phone has been getting really hot and dying really quickly so I decided to update to the latest software as soon as it became available (6.0.1 I think it's called). During the update, my phone froze on the screen with the apple and the loading bar underneath at only about 5%. After two hours I had to go out so I unplugged my phone thinking I would still be able to use it. Apparently not. When I returned home and plugged my phone in, it said I have to restore it. I have since tried restoring it three times but it keeps freezing on the same spot (about 5%) and I don't know how to fix it. Any suggestions?

make sure you have a good internet connection, make sure you dont have any anit virus/ firewall on, force it in to recovery mode, try a different computer.
