Downloading or displaying

Hey all, I'm sort of beginning with Dreamweaver and got that
problem with pictures on my site. I have a thumbnail on my page and
linked it with a larger picture (so I have two different files, one
way bigger than the other). When I first uploaded my page, I could
click on the thumbnail and see my picture appear in the same window
but now, without changing anything, when I click on the thumbnail,
I am asked whether I want to open it or save it. My problem is the
following : I want to display the picture in the browser
automatically and not download it. thx in advance,
ps: I'm under firefox, don't know if that helps.

Firefox Hangs Downloading and Displaying PDF Files

I've had a problem with Firefox for several years where it hangs in the middle of the file when downloading and displaying a PDF file. Typically it downloads a few hundred kilobytes and then stalls.
Recently I upgraded from Acrobat 8.1 to Acrobat 9.1. The problem remains. The problem may not occur on all PDF files.
I suspect the problem is related to the Plug-in, as I just installed the Foxit PDF Reader and Firefox now handles the PDF file without problem.
Any thoughts on how to solve this problem?

Thanks for the replies. I don't think I was clear enough with my question.
What I want to be able to do is to click on a PDF file in my Firefox browser and be able to save it as an Adobe PDF file, not a Preview PDF file, in any folder on my computer, rather than just the specified default location for downloads. This way I can save, for example, phone bills in the phone bills folder and bank statements in the bank statements folder without having to save them to the desktop, "Get Info" on each, and change the "Open with:" box from Preview to Adobe Reader.
Fortunately, thanks to Michael's post, I found an add-on from Firefox that allows me to do just that: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/636
Thanks for your help. Now, within my Firefox browser, I can choose whether to view or download PDF files, always in Adobe rather than Preview, and when I save them I get the option to choose the location each and every time.

Do I need to download Mini Display Port to VGA update?

I want to be able to watch movies from the MBP on the TV. (Panasonic 32" about 5 years old). Air Play doesn't work through the ATV, the stream is erratic and unwatchable. Both HDMI ports are in use for other things. So I got a Mini Display Port to VGA adapter and a VGA cord and plugged it into the PC input on the TV. I get the screen to come up (no sound, is that normal?) so it seems to work.
Now I read that there is an update for the Mini Display Port to VGA. I downloaded it then was unable to open it because it said it was from an "unidentified source" (Apple!!!!) Do I need this? The article that described this was dated 2009, so I'm thinking it is way obsolete but I want to be sure.
And what about sound and VGA? Do I need a separate audio in connection, and if so, to what input since the PC input is VGA only.

VGA only supplies video, so no sound is normal. You’ll need another connection to provide sound — perhaps through your audio out (headphones) port?
When you have the Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter in use, run Software Update; if it doesn’t offer the adapter’s firmware update, then your adapter already has it installed.

OBIEE 11g - Download All/Display All of rows in Answers

Hi All,
I have created a request in OBIEE 11g and now displaying it on dashboard.
by default shows 25 rows, can extend it fo 500 rows, next i should keep on clicking to see full data.
Also download of data is possible for the rows available on page only i.e. 500 rows are only getting exported to excel.
Any way to view all data on dashboard at once and download as well?

Then the data is displayed in Table Control
Here the User needs to download the data which is displayed in the Table Control
By Navigating through SYSTEM -> LIST -> SAVE -> LOCAL FILE
Here LOCAL FILE is not in enable mode
So how can we make that LOCAL FILE to enable mode and achieve the Download functionality

whenever you click on Excel download option select spreadsheet instead of unconverted
There is a possibility of download the spool file as txt-file. .
Use Tranx SP01 - select the spool entry -->"spool request --> forward as text . You will find the file in your SAP work directory as <sid><spool#>.
or use fm RSPO_DOWNLOAD_SPOOLJOB.

How to download the data in excel format directly while executing in background mode?
If you will execute it in bacground with ws_download or download, it will be aoutomatically cancel. so what is the procedure to do this. How is can directly read the spool from program?
Download from background is possible, if you could setup the environment
1. create a custom table first
    Table : Y001
    Displayed fields:   4 of   4 Fixed columns:
       MANDT BNAME       Y_SITE    Y_PATH

2. rewrite ws_download to z_download (light modification required, see attachment)
3. ask your basis team to make a copy of command FTP and CHMOD to ZFTP and ZCHMOD resp., make the setting according to your environment.

Hi djvtech, I read about a way to do that. When you hover your mouse over the download, the tooltip that displays shows the speed. Inserting that tooltip into the actual Download Panel is possible but it's somewhat complicated. I'm new to flash, but am a long time Java developer.
I want to download some HTML from a URL and display it in a
flash object.

You can either
1. create a virtual directory in the web server and edit your html file accordingly so the files will be accessed correctly
OR
2. just upload the excel file into the database and let people download it into excel themselves(see the file upload How-To) -- IMHO the much better and more efficient option.

Blob downloaded, not displayed

Hello.
We have apex application with one record report that shows image.
We use database procedure to show image.
And call it in apex like:
'<img src="show_image?p_id=' || NVL(dp.id, 0) || '" height="200" width="200" />' as imageBut the image is not shown. We only see broken image icon.
With right click on broken icon, we can save it and it's actual image we want to display.
If we call procedure like:
http://host:port/apex/show_image?p_id=28then the image is automatically downloaded.
What could be the problem?
If we use the same procedure on another table with images which are smaller, then the image is shown.
Minimum image length in table A is (DBMS_LOB.getlength (file)): 105243
Maximum image length in table B is: 1702
That is in chrome.
Firefox returns - Image corrupt or truncated: http://host:port/apex/show_image?p_id=28Any idea?

Images that have been processed through Oracle Forms become non-standard.
If you have an Oracle Support contract, see Bug #3177494 on MOS. Oracle do not regard this as a bug and there is no fix available. The workaround is to upload the image using a different method.

New Apps download number display in iTunes

Hi, my itunes keeps displaying 1 new App for download, but when I got the the download page it shows me that there is nothing to download and that I have no more new downloads. But iTunes keeps displaying (on the left under Apps) 1 App to download.
When I log off my account, the "1" disappears. When I log in, it keeps coming right beck.
Can someone tell me how to reset the Apps number display in iTunes.

just a hunch but do you us more than one iTMS account to purchase content ?
right-click on the app in iTunes and +get info+. go to the summary pane and check with which account it was purchased
if you then log into that account, you should be able to update the app and the number will disappear.

Possible to change default downloader speed displaying rate from KBps to Mbps?

I'm pretty tired of doing the calculations from KBps to Mbps (speeds advertised for internet connections). No one deals in KB for most stuff downloaded on the net. More in the order of MB. However, it would be easier to see how well its performing in Mbps. That way i can see how close to maximum it's running for a connection (wireless 3G, ADSL / DSL etc)
Is there somewhere in firefox i can change that output thats displayed in the download window from KBps to Mbps?

TB will download 1, display 'not responding' for about 30 sec, then repeat.

This has become a recurring problem. TB will behave normally, then begin this action. During the not responding, the hourglass will display and the window will be unresponsive to any action. Frequently, downloading will cease completely after several are received and will have to be restarted by clicking the get mail button.
Although not definitely related, it has been noted that when closed both TB and FF will usually leave behind an open process that will have to be ended before the app can be restarted.

look to your anti virus program. It is almost certainly implicated if not completely the cause.
Start by disabling email scanning and see how that goes.

Why can't adobe reader download and display my files?

i downloaded adobe reader and when I try to display something I get an error message:
"Adobe reader is unable to show documents in this browser configuration."
I was able to display these documents with preview..
and I am able to display them with adobe when using my safari browser.
Help!
