  • Download Oracle Developer Suite 10g (10.1.2.0.2) for Microsoft Windows

    Hi
I unable to download Oracle Developer Suite 10g (10.1.2.0.2) for Microsoft Windows from the OTN website. The download starts from here: http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ids/htdocs/101202winsoft.html
There are two files. The second file; ds_windows_x86_101202_disk2.zip downloads fine. The first file; ds_windows_x86_101202_disk1.zip stops at 46Mb with the message "connection reset by server".
When downloading using getright as suggested on the FAQ the connection has to resume at 46Mb. Using segmented downloading in getright I have been able to download 636.92MB of the 640MB file. The getright download window shows connected; waiting for reply but I am unable to get the last few Meg.
Any ideas how to complete the download? Has anyone else completed it successfully?
    Thanks
    Tom

I guess, it is a problem with your network.
Yesterday I have downloaded both the files and installed successfully. The first file took around 20 minutes and secod file took nearly 10 minutes to download.
Are you using office network? You can try downloading at home with DSL.

  • Using Oracle Developer Suite 10g Without the Oracle Database

I have never used Oracle, but have used MS SQL Server 7. I need to learn Forms. An Oracle salesperson suggested I download Oracle Developer Suite 10g (the demo product). It includes the Oracle Developer Suite (with Forms Developer), and many other programs.
The salesperson said it includes a database server, but I suspect it does not. I only downloaded the package last night, and have begun to skim the documentation, but I see nothing that looks like a database server.
In SQL Server 7, the database engine is run as a service and you create and manage your tables (do all the database admin stuff) using SQL Enterprise Manager.
So, does this package include a database engine/server? Or must you also have the Oracle Database?
I don't see a demo version of the Oracle Database - is there one?
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi,
The Developer Suite does not contain a demo version of the Oracle Database.
You can download the database from this page:

  • Can't get the correct Oracle Developer Suite 10g disk 1

I tried to download Oracle Developer Suite 10g disk 1. After download completed, I check the size is only around 560mb, not 577mb. It is so wield. Then I followed the instruction and double-click the exe. I always got error it is not a win32 application.
I tried to use various way to download the disk1. I always got the same file and have the same problem.
About disk2, it is fine. I am just wondering if others have a chance to meet the same situation? Or oracle is putting an wrong file for our download.
Your warm hands will be appreciated.
    Thanks...

This download has been up for some time so I don't think it is a problem with the file itself. We recommend a download manager for anybody having issues transferring large files.

  • Oracle Developer Suite 10g 10.1.2.0.2 - Disk 2

Hi - I downloaded Oracle Developer Suite 10g 10.1.2.0.2 for Windows. Here's the name of the two files:
    ds_windows_x86_101202_disk1.zip
    ds_windows_x86_101202_disk2.zip
I extracted both zip files into the same folder and ran the setup.exe. In the middle of the installation (69%) I received the following prompt:
Please insert Oracle DevSuite Disk 2 into your disk drive or specify an alternate location.
I do not know what the exact folder path I should point to is. Can you please advise?
    Thanks for your help.

I believe they need to be in separate folders.
I extracted them into separate folders, then ran setup.exe from disk 1. It will ask you for the location of disk 2, enter that path and away it went.

  • Downloading Oracle Development Suite

Ok, I logged onto the Oracle Technology Network, Selected downloads/Oracle Development Suite 10g(9.0.4), checked off that I was not a subversive and was willing to sell my first-born if there were troubles, and got to the screen where I selected the "disk 1" download.
While that was loading, I closed the site and went off to do other work.
I dutifully finished and I returned to download Disk 2.
It got me to where I checked no I wasn't a subversive and yes, I was offering my first-born, and it then went to the last screen...
For about 5 seconds. It then returned to the subversive/first born screen.
I have done this several times over the last couple of hours, with two different browsers.
    HELP!
Does anyone know anything about this?
    Dave Hay

    1) You don't need the Oracle Developer Suite to get SQL*Plus. That comes with the Oracle client. The Developer Suite is for mainly Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports development primarily (JDeveloper is also included but that can be downloaded stand-alone)
    2) On the same page that you download the Developer Suite, there is a link to documentation that walks you through the installation process.

I had a design tool called as Graphics Builder in Developer 6.0 but What I see in Oracle Developer Suite 10g that this tool doesn't exist any more. I still need to use all Graphics of the company application.
Is Graphics Builder out of the Developer package of Oracle any more ? If yes, then how can I make the design of Graphics in Developer Suite ? Is it a seperate tool any more I should have next to Developer Suite 10g ?
I would be glad if experinced colleaques guide me on this ?
Many Thanks for your valuable helps,
    Regards,
    MeriƧ

Is Graphics Builder out of the Developer package of Oracle any more ?Yes, Oracle has discontinued the "Graphics Builder product. In order to include graphical charts in your 10g Form you will need to use the BI Graph Bean that is included in the <a href="http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/downloads/index.html">Oracle Forms 11g Downloads</a> - Oracle Forms 11g Demo Pack. Download this .zip file and look at the *demos.html* document for instructions on how to use this Java Bean.
    Hope this helps,

  • Oracle Developer Suite 10g (10.1.2.0.2) And Webutil

Does Oracle Developer Suite 10g (10.1.2.0.2) already contains
preinstalled webutil or shall i have to install or configure it seperately (manually)?
If is there any version of Oracle Developer Suite which have already installed webutil, i mean there will be no need to install or configure webutil seperately.
Edited by: [email protected] on Sep 23, 2008 2:24 PM

Reading the webutil.cfg file, you have to unzip the files in the directory pointed by the install.syslib.location variable.
    # 2. Installation Options
    # WebUtil needs to download some files to the client in order to perform
    # certain integration operations such as OLE or Registry Access. These files
    # are downloaded the first time that you access one of the functions that need
    # them. You have to define the location of these files on the server
    # Details
    # install syslib.location : The virtual path to the directory holding the
    # webutil library files on the server side. This
    # must either be an absolute URL or a URL that is
    # relative to the documentbase
    # install.syslib.<os>.<package>.<n> :
    # The name(s) of the libraries required for
    # particular webutil beans. The format of this is
    # name|size|version|showDownloadDialog. Multiple
    # libraries can be downloaded per package. But
    # ensure that the <n> values are consecutive and
    # start at 1
    install.syslib.location=/webutil
    # Change size and version if necessary, like when upgrading the library.
    # Normally this would not be required since most of these libraries come with
    # install itself.
    ## Correct 2nd value to correct file size to avoid raising an error
    install.syslib.0.7.1=jacob.dll|94208|1.0|true
    install.syslib.0.9.1=JNIsharedstubs.dll|65582|1.0|true
    install.syslib.0.9.2=d2kwut60.dll|192512|1.0|true
    ## You can add your own custom libraries in here
    #install.syslib.0.user.1=testwebutil.dll|204872|1.0|true
