Downloading past music problem

Does anybody know if they are limiting the time you download you past music. I got this message "This computer is already associated with an Apple ID. You can download past purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days. This computer can be used with a different Apple ID in 89 days. Does this mean that I have a time frame to download my music?
Thanks

I've had the same issue - my primary media PC was inadvertantly associated with an old, defunct appleID, and prevented from downloading purchases made on my laptop and ipad. While customer service representatives were kind enough to repost recent purchases to my itunes account, enabling download, there was no option for reseting the association or acceleratig the countdown. I'm still locked out of match, and older purchases aren't available for another 53 days.
I've expressed my frustration with this restriction in no uncertain (but polite) terms, but I can't help feeling that it felt on deaf ears.

  • HT201272 My iPhone says I have to wait another 36 days to download past music purchases ,and when I download an app it loads halfway then goes all the way back to waiting then keeps doing that same process but never downloads. Help ?

I didn't do anything to it it has just stopped working ???

Since it has always been very basic to backup your computer and all it's data, Apple provides no way for you to transfer music from your iPhone back to your computer.  As you know, you can re-download all iTunes purchases, but music that you ripped yourself you'll have to just re-rip again.
You can try and find 3rd party applications that might help you.  I'm sure you'll pay, however.
Let this be a very important lesson learned.
    Best.

  • HT1386 I am having problems downloading my music from my PC to my iphone 5s. I have i-tunes on my PC which I also have a different apple ID than what is on my iphone. I tried once to sync and download but do not know where it went. Please help

I am having problems downloading my music library from my PC to my iphone. I have different apple id's for i-tunes and iphone5s. I did connect iphone to PC via USB and was able to sync and download, but do not know where it downloaded to. I looked under my music on iphone and nothing there.

You have Sync Music selected under the Music tab or selection for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes on your PC?

  • HT1849 I have received notification that  the "Complete My Album", Music Speaks by Candice Glover is now available to download.  I have three devices that are all enabled to receive automatic downloads.  My problem is the same on all three devices.  Only

I have received notification that  the "Complete My Album", Music Speaks by Candice Glover is now available to download.  I have three devices that are all enabled to receive automatic downloads.  My problem is the same on all three devices.
Only 0.05 minutes download on each song with the exception of the original song purchase: I Am Beautiful.  What needs to be done to solve this problem?

It seems that I have solved my issue by performing a full factory reset (erasing all content, something which I had hoped to avoid) restoring from an iCloud backup did not alleviate the issue, I had to set up as a new iPad.
Hopefully anyone else else who has this issue in the future will be able to find this.

  • Download music problems

I have an ipad mini and i tried to download previously purchased music onto it. THe music seems to download  but then doesn't appear in my music app. Why?

    Hi, coryloel.
Thank you for the question.  Sometimes a simple power cycle of the iOS device may resolve this issue.  However, if nothing is in the music application and all prior purchases were selected to be download, the downloads may have not completed.  Here are a couple articles that will walk you through the process of resuming any interrupted downloads as well as download any missing media.

  • HT201272 I get this message when I try to download purchased music, never seen it before, never had a problem before. you do not have enough access privelages for this operation

I get this message when I try to download purchased music, never seen it before, never had a problem before.
"you do not have enough access privelages for this operation"
This computer is authorized, auoto download is enabled and I can download on my ipad without a problem.
Any ideas what might be going on?

    Hi jimbowby,
If you are getting this error message just when attempting to download previously purchased music (new purchases work fine), and it's only occuring on the computer (redownloads on the iPad work fine), it may be a permissions issue. It may be worth taking a look at the Resolution section of the following article, which covers other issues that can throw that same error message: Trouble adding music to iTunes library or importing audio CD Hope that helps.
    Cheers,

  • HT201272 hi all, I am having trouble downloading 2 music videos. I keep getting the download error 8008. Can anyone enlighten me on how to work around the problem.

Hi guys, I'm havinh trouble downloading 2 music videos. The download starts then stops before it gets going and gives me an error code, 8008. Can anyone help please.

Try the troubleshooting for that error number on this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3297
    "Error -50," "-5000," "8003," "8008," or "-42023"
These alerts occur due to timeouts or conflicts trying to write a file during download.
If you encounter this issue while accessing iTunes Store:
See iTunes 9: "One Moment Please" or "Error (-50)" message when accessing iTunes Store
If you encounter this issue while while downloading something from the iTunes Store:
Delete your iTunes Downloads folder, located in:
    Mac OS X:
~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Downloads   Note: "iTunes Media" may appear as "iTunes Music. Also, the tilde (~) refers to your Home directory.
    Windows Vista:
  \Users\username\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
    Windows 7:
  \Users\username\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
    Windows XP:
  \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
After locating your iTunes Downloads folder:
    Quit iTunes.
Delete the Downloads folder on your computer.
    Open iTunes.
Choose Store > Check for Available Downloads.
Enter your account name and password.
If you encounter this issue while while downloading Digital Copies using Windows:
Use MSCONFIG (directions for Windows XP and Windows Vista/Windows 7) to disable conflicting software.
If using MSCONFIG steps resolves the issue, you may want to use the System Configuration Utility to turn on the third-party System Services and Startup Items one at a time (restarting your computer after turning on the item or items) to identify which System Service or Startup Item is causing the conflict.
You can turn all of them back on by selecting the Normal Startup option under the General tab of the System Configuration Utility window, but please note that this may cause the issue to reoccur.
If you are able to isolate the issue to a particular third-party software, you may wish to contact them to let them know of the conflict.

  • HT203167 I've downloaded Itunes music for nearly 10 years on multiple computers, however, I've noticed that I can't access music that I purchased on some of the older computers. Can this problem be fixed?

I've downloaded Itunes music for nearly 10 years on multiple computers, however, I've noticed that I can't access previously purchased music from some of the older computers. Can all of my Itunes purchases be consolidated?

    Hello, ted_marx38.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
The most common cause for this issue would be media present that is purchased with another Apple ID.  When prompted to authorize the computer it may show a different Apple ID.  If this is the case, the computer will need to be authorized for this Apple ID.  The article below will walk you through the process of verifying if that is the case or correcting the issue if not.

  • Problems with home sharing - copy & paste music from one mac to another mac

Using home sharing and two macbook pros, I am trying to copy and paste music from one of the mac pros to the other.  Sharing appear to be set up properly and the mac allows me to highlight the music i want to copy and then drag it to the music folder . The mac then indicates that fies are being copied...for example, it now says "copying 1 of 10".  However, it never goes beyond this.  After a while I click the "x" and start over, but nothing ever happens.  Anyone have ideas?  This shouldn't be that difficult.

    no.
for home sharing to work, all machines need to be on the same network.

  • You can download past purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days

I have a mac which my fiancee and I share. There are 2 separate accounts and 2 separate apple ids used to buy different music (i.e. we have 2 separate iphones and music collections).
I received the following error (see uploaded image) which states that, "you can download past purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days".
Now, when I sync my iTunes and iPhone only some music that I have previously purchases is affected. For some reason they failed to sync with my iPhone and become unavailable in my iTunes ("file cannot be found"). When I deleted the record I saw that it became available for download in iTunes and then discovered this issue.
I have legally purchased the music and just want to be able to sync the files legitimately. It just seems very restrictive to say that you have to have 2 different machines for every account (i.e. you cannot have multiple users on a device with their own accounts which each have their own Apple IDs).

    Hi
No - that is the issue - both my husband and I use the same computer and want to be able to use our individual Apple IDs so can access our download content e.g. I-books that we have purchased through our other MAC devices such as I-Pad.  In the past, we had four people using one computer with no problem regarding Apple ID.   In the newer operating system, we are now restricted to one at a time - it means one of us is blocked out from accessing our content for a period of 90 days.   Have you any suggestions on how we can both use our individual Apple IDs with the same lap-top?  We have set up discrete accounts so we log on to the computer individually.  Many thanks for any help.

  • HT1711 It wont let me download my music for 90 days. why?

    Hi,
Just recently my Iphone 4S music library had cleared itself. I then turned my phone off then back on thinking it may have been aa glitch. I then turned it back on and went to my Itunes store a and went to my purchases. Afterwards I had chose the option to " Download All" and a message appears saying "You can download past purchases on this device with just one apple ID every 90 days. You cannot associate this device with a different Apple ID for 78 days." I have waited a total count of 12 days without music and I really want it back. Is there a way to override it or fix this problem I am having? Is there a chance that someone may have hacked into my account?
    sincerely,
    Robertdifferent.

    Hello there, RobertDifferent.
The following Knowledge Base article should clarify and respond to your questions about overriding:
iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4627
    Specifically:
Note: Removing a device from your Apple ID does not override the 90 day timer. The timer must complete 90 days from the day the device was associated before it can be associated to another Apple ID.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro D.
