  • My firefox version is 3.6.12, however I cannot download any add-ons cause it says I am still using version 2, and it is the same for website such as youtube where it is always saying I am using a outdated browser. How do I solve this?

I keep updating my firefox whenever it prompts me to, and now I am using version 3.6.12, but I still cannot download any add-ons or have problem using youtube cause they still says I am using a older version of the browser.
But when I go Help > About Mozilla Firefox, I am sure I have the latest version and no more updates can be found.

You have or had an extension installed (MegaUpload toolbar) that has changed the user agent from Firefox/3.6.12 to Firefox/2.0.0.13
You can check the general.useragent prefs on the about:config page:
    * general.useragent.extra.firefox Firefox/2.0.0.13 MEGAUPLOAD 1.0
You can open the about:config page via the location bar, just like you open a website.<br />
    Filter: general.useragent<br />
If general.useragent prefs are bold (user set) then you can right-click that pref and choose Reset.

  • In Firefox 4, how do I change the order of plugins on the Add-ons Plugins manager page (I turn Shockwave Flash on only to see videos - having it off prevents screen freezing - and so I want it stay at the top of the list)?

In Firefox 4, how do I change the order of plugins on the Add-ons Plugins manager page? I turn Shockwave Flash on only when I want to watch a video and then turn it off to prevent screen freezing, and so I want it to PUT it and KEEP it at the top of the list.

Hit Ctrl+0 (That's a zero, by the way). I'm not sure if it will work, but hey, that's the first thing I would try.

  • Moving Calendar to a New Computer & Moving Data: Downloads and Add-ons

Moving Calendar to a New Computer & Moving Data: Downloads and Add-ons
The handle says is all. Totally lost here & in a virtual house of cards. Please first see screen-shot.
I have the Mozilla calendar (Lightening?) program on my computer. Is this screen-shot Thunderbird or is it an add-on called Lightening that was added on to Thunderbird? I don't even recall how I acquired in a few years ago. Whatever it is I find in invaluable. Indispensable. Brilliantly conceived. A superb creation.
Notice that I have several calendars in different colors for different purposes and a long task agenda on the right. Wonderful program!! I absolutely love it! I can not afford to loose these calenders and this data. However, big caveat, entrusting my life (our lives) to it has become extremely dangerous for it's a virtual house of cards upon the purchase of a new computer. The move-over is more like a career most of us already have one. Need anyone really wonder why PC sales are down? Res ipsa loquitur.
    FIRST ISSUE:
I must move this/these Mozilla program/s and calendars over to the new computer but I don't have a clue where to begin. What must I download? Thunderbird? What must I add-on? Lightening? Is this a suite of programs? All I care about are my calendars and task agendas that you see in the screen-shot -- not any email programs etc. Just this personal management system that you see.
    SECOND ISSUE:
After I downloading, installing, and adding-on what I need, how do I then move (migrate) my profile (data) over to new computer?
Please know that I do know where that 'profile' and its .ics calendar profiles are stored. I am also well backed up. I just need to know how get (downloaded/install) what I need and move this over to the new computer. (See screen-shot)
First, what must I download and install and add on. Second how do I move this data/profile (a virtual Life) over to the new computer without it all coming down like a house of cards?
Please, unless it's all been documented in one location, a link to this and a link to that probably won't be very helpful. Anyone who can lay-out a simple, easy to follow plan (1, 2, 3, 4, done) will be a hero and make a significant contribution to people who dread buying a new computer for precisely these reasons. It will certainly encourage more people to use this absolutely wonderful personal management system. It's the best I've ever seen and I must keep it. But it's soooo risky.

Obviously the screen-shot is posted so show what I see now and want to see when I am done. Was the ''really ''not clear? Nothing could be more germane ("Germaine" is a person's name) than a visual that shows the multiple calendar dynamic and what I actually want to see nor better communicants the fact that all I want is that and not other programs in a suite – a question btw asked but not answered.
"I have no idea what the threshold issue is. Perhaps Zeno can assist you."
I now see Zeno's reply but I never got an email re: my questions and just noticed it. I will respond to him separately. But ''obviously ''the ''''threshold'''' issue is ISSUE ONE (1) exactly what, and only what, must I download and install.
Was that really not clear? That was not answered in your first reply. And since you here, later, state that Lightening does not need to be downloaded and installed how on earth could you presume the first threshold issue (question 1) was a joke?
Once again I wrote and you even quoted me “Please, unless it's ALL been documented in ONE LOCATION, a link to this and a link to that probably won't be very helpful. Anyone who can lay-out a simple, easy to follow plan (1, 2, 3, 4, done) ...”
As this exchange demonstrates, that statement has certainly proven to be correct.
You then wrote, “Read the question... the question is. How do I move my profile to a new computer? You are the one making much more of it than that. ... All covered in the link.”
What “the” (singular) of several links (plural) you provided are you talking abut? But no matter. No it was not "all" covered in the multiple links you sent which do not address the more important threshold question (1). The only issue you addressed was (2) data transfer which is secondary to the threshold issue which is ISSUE question one (1). Threshold issue/question presented: before we can go to question (2) we must address question (1).
As I stated “Please know that I do know where that 'profile' and its .ics calendar profiles are stored.”
You replied “No you do not. Local calendars are not stored in ICS files.”
First please notice you make no attempt to clarify where they are; but, once again, please read carefully. I did not say that the calendars are “stored in the ICS files” but that the .ics files ARE the calendars and I do know there they are stored.
Please see the screen-shot you claim is not germane? Each of those different colored calendars are (“not stored” in but are) .ics files that are stored in the Profile directory. In the directory c:\Users\myName\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird is a directory or folder called \Profiles and in that directory is a file named 9w2ydrc4.default. That file IS the profile. In that profile is a folder called “calendar-data” and in that folder are the calender .ics files that are the different colored calenders you see in the very germane screen-shot. So I do know where the calendars are. So I gather that all I copy into the Profiles directory is the file (profile) called 9w2ydrc4.default.
Again, as I wrote before, I do not want a full suite with email. So what do I downloaded and install to get only what you see in the screen-shot. I don't think we ever installed a full suite before. I never saw and email program. So, again,'' asked but not answered. ''
Then you stated, I do not need to download and install Lightening (please notice, is a partial answer to my first, threshold, question you presumed was a joke) but only Thunderbird since “Lightning is already in your profile so will move with it When you actually move the profile.”
Well, since you like to use links, exactly what is your documented Mozilla authority for that hearsay? Since I posted the question I have spent much time at Mozilla. Literally everything I have seen indicates I must first download and Thunderbird. But again, I do not want to and never did, install a full suite of programs and, as far as I know, there is no Mozilla mail or other suite programs on this (my current old computer) and there never were. So, once again'', asked and not answered).''
Everything at Mozilla states I must first download & install Thunderbird'' and then ''add-on Lightening. Nothing I have seen at Mozilla suggests otherwise or states that when we want to get Mozilla calendars over to a new computer we must first and *only* download and install Thunderbird and then just copy the profile (9w2ydrc4.default) into the 'Profiles' directory. Nothing I have seen at Mozilla suggests I do not have to download and install Lightening. So please show me where Mozilla documents that. ''' Please notice that even Zeno states, “You download AND INSTALL LIGHTNING as an add-on.'''”
Since this contradicts you do tell me: what is your Mozilla authority for claim that I do not need to download and install Lightening because it's already in my profile? I see nothing in my profile that suggests Lightening is there.
Finally, I wrote to you “ ...it is axiomatic that Windows transfer wizard does NOT transfer programs but only data. You did not know this?” I only wrote that because it appeared your reference to Transfer Wizard was a response to the threshold question of (1) how to I get the program onto the new machine. But your response is''' very '''strange for you wrote “You are the first person I have encountered that thought it did more than transfer data.” Show me where I said that. I said the opposite. How on earth did you come to that interpretation as a response to my simple and very clear statement that " ...it is axiomatic that Windows transfer wizard does''' NOT transfer programs but only data.'''.”

  • Add-ons (plugin, extension) workflow and architecture inside the browser

would like to help me explain the add-ons (plugin, extension) workflow, add-ons architecture inside the browser with pictures and the details please so i can understand how does it work easily.. thank you so much for your concern with my question... :)

Delete the files extensions.* (extensions.rdf, extensions.cache, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox [[Profiles|profile folder]] to reset the extensions registry. New files will be created when required.
    See "Corrupt extension files": http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_install_themes_or_extensions
If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the "Find Updates" button (in Firefox 4: right-click the extension -> "Find Updates") to do a compatibility check.

  • Firefox 22 Silent Add-ons/Plugins/Extensions Installation

We're a Windows 7 x86 shop and we're finally upgrading from Firefox 3.6. I just need a little help finalizing the customizations for our Firefox 22 install.
Our requests don't differ greatly from others (no automatic updates, no plugin checks, set default home page, no Firefox sync etc.) and all that seems to be working so far. I ran the install on a machine that did not have a previous version of Firefox and found it largely behaving the way I expected it to.
    However two things stand out:
On initial launch I'm seeing a 'checking compatibility of addons' screen. It doesn't ask me to do anything and disappears after a few seconds, but this worries me that it *might* complain about a plugin a user installed when we go through the upgrade process.
    - Can this 'check' be avoided?
    - Is it really doing anything? (eg: checking for blacklisted addons/extensions? etc)
    - What's the worst that could happen here?
In the registry (HKLM\Software\Mozilla\Firefox\Extensions) I have two entries created by 2 other applications on the workstation each of which pointing to their respective extension/addon/plugin directory (e.g.: C:\Program Files\Application\some_directory). When properly installed, one is listed as an Extension, the other a Plugin. On the first launch after installation, I see two 'Install Add-on' tabs prompting me to approve each the installation. Seeing as these extensions are allowed/trusted and required, I want Firefox to accept them without prompting the user. Now, I'm aware of two key elements that largely govern this (and their subtle differences) but I can't seem to get this to work right:
    extensions.autoDisableScopes
    extensions.enabledScopes
With the former set to 0 and the latter 15 I relaunch FF and while I don't get the tabs, when I go to test them, it doesn't work. Furthermore, the Plugin is listed under Extensions which probably shoud not be.
    - What am I doing wrong?
    - How can I allow/trust/whitelist or otherwise automatically approve the installation of either specific add-ons, or add-ons within a specific location?
Please, correct me if I'm doing something wrong, or if there's a better way (e.g.: GPO's) to apply global settings for all users. I'm hoping to avoid a solution that requires installing a third-party plug-in
    Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Install/upgrade process consists these key files:
Firefox Setup 22.0.exe - The installer

copies userChrome.css into the above directory

  • I have downloaded two add-ons but can't find them

    Hello
I have recently installed Firefox Mozilla and two add-ons that I needed.
They appear in the add ons menu and are activated.
But I cannot see them anywhere in Firefox
All menus are activated including the add-on bar which appears at the bottom of my screen but is empty
Where might the icons be for my add ons please?
    Thanks in advance

    Hello Fredmcd
In the Mozilla menu, I click on 'add ons' but it the pop up Mozilla page, they seem to be under extensions.
One of them was 'download you tube videos as mp4' and that is solved (it only appears when you download'
The other one is "encrypted communication 1.3' by Diego Casorran and I have never been able to locate it to use. On the site, https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/encrypted-communication/
people say you just compose a message and then toggle with the icon but I don't see how I can compose a message in Mozilla

  • 404 Downloading Adobe Add-Ons for Flex 4 Release

When I go to download the Adobe Add-Ons for the release version of Flex 4, I get sent to http://fpdownload.adobe.com/pub/flex/sdk/builds/flex4/flex_sdk_4.0.0.141595_add-on.zip, which gives me a 404 error.  Earlier versions seem to work fine.

    @jmattweaver,
I can see that too on http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/flexsdk/Download+Flex+4 and I've passed it along to our builds/web people who will take a look.

  • I would like to download my add-ons as separate files as a back-up

I am about to be involved in voluntary work in South Africa, at a location with very slow internet connection. As I will be there for some months, possibly years, I am wanting to be prepared for restoring laptop items in case of crash (or buying a newer laptop). I have already downloaded the Firefox browser and saved it as an .exe on an external drive. I would like to do the same for my add-ons as I use them a lot (things like iMacros, readitlater, ietab, linky). Is it possible to save these as files that can be stored on an external drive - rather than automatically installing them into my Firefox system?
    Thanks so much!

Be aware that extensions update and you won't receive updates that may fix bugs.<br />
You can install such a saved .xpi file via File > Open File or by dragging the file in a Firefox window. If you get a cross that prevents installing then you may need to move around in the Firefox window.

  • Problem with Downloaded Content Add-ons - PE9 Trial

I have recently installed the PE9 trial on my Windows 7 PC. It is all working well except I have some questions about the Content Add-ons that can be downloaded from the following URL: http://www.adobe.com/special/premiereel/downloads/. I was prompted to download these within PE9.
I note that for each of the 3 available content packages (i.e. 1, 2 and 3) , there is a HD version and what I assume to be a non-HD version. Is the idea that you need to download both, and use the HD version when working on HD projects, and the non-HD version for standard definition projects. Are they otherwise identical?
When I download the non-HD versions, they appear in both my standard definition and HD projects. The HD version also appears in both project types but when I  view the available themes in PE9 the thumbnails for the HD project themes are all  greyed out (whereas the thumbnails for the non-HD themes display a sample picture). Also, when I click on the HD themes they don't play any sample audio, whereas the non-HD themes do. Has anyone got any ideas why this would be occurring and how I can fix this? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times.
Assuming that I am eventually able to get the HD thumbnails to display correctly, I am curious to know how you can tell whether a particular theme thumbnail is HD or non-HD given that they both appear in both standard definition and HD projects.
This has got me quite confused, and any help would be appreciated.
Given that every user that downloads the PE9 Trial is prompted to download the Content Add-ons, I really think that Adobe is doing themselves a disservice by not providing more clarity on the differences between the Content Add-ons. Just a brief explanation on the download site would be helpful.
If anyone from Adobe is reading this, there is the following typo on the download site: "HD content1: Themed content includes HD content includes Birthday Party, Road Trip, Outdoor".

Thanks for the advice Steve. Do you have any ideas as to why when I  view the available themes under the Disc Menus tab the thumbnails for the HD project themes are all  greyed out whereas the thumbnails for the non-HD themes display a sample picture. Also, when I click on the HD themes they don't play any sample audio, whereas the non-HD themes do.
Is this normal, or could this be a problem with the trial version?
I am really loving PE9, and I would really like to work this out.

  • I have downloaded the add ons - keylogger 1.5 , made a computer re-start, but I don't see it and can not use it.

The downloading process gave the name "play music" for this add ons.

The keylogger password seems to be stored in the <b>extensions.pass</b> pref that you can inspect via the about:config page.

  • I no longer have the firefox Included search engines preloaded, where can I go to download those add-ons?

Had some computer difficulties. After some fixes I couldn't connect to the internet through Firefox. Found problem and fixed it, but not before reseting my firefox as a possible fix. Now I'm missing the preloaded Included search engines. In the window "Manage Search Engines", I no longer have any preloaded search engines. I can download one as an add-on, but I dont want to fish through all the different ones out there. I just want the searches that Firefox had pre-loaded. Is there a way to redownload and install those search engines for the toolbar without removing and reinstalling Firefox? Can I be directed to the links for those specific "what should be pre-loaded" add-ons to add them manually?

Do you still have the xml files of the default search engines in the searchplugins folder in the Firefox program folder?
    *(32 bit Windows) C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\
    *(64 bit Windows) C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\
If not then you need to reinstall Firefox.
You can find the latest Firefox release in all languages and for all Operating Systems here:
    *Firefox 18.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
If they are there then delete the search.json file and a possible search.sqlite file in the Firefox Profile Folder.

  • My ipod touch wont let me download any add-ons

I have a 4th gen ipod touch. Whenever i try to download an add-on to an app, like extra coins for a game, it says that i must purchase the app before I can download the add-on, even though the app is downloaded on my ipod and my itunes library. Some of the apps that say this are also free, but they don't have a version that costs money.

I had that same problem, I used a gift card (all of it), and when I tried to use the AppStore it wouldn't let me, I tried calling apple support and iTunes support, but they did not help. The way I resolved my problem is I went to the grocery store and bought a visa debit gift card, with $1.00 balance on it and put that info on my billing settings when they asked me to update it or change it or whatever, and it worked perfectly, that may be the ONLY way for your problem to be resolved, and it's a confirmed answer, since I have done it myself, if you don't do that, you will never be able to download free apps, receive and download gifted apps, or even UPDATE an app, it ***** I know, I went through exactly what you did, and if you do what I did, you'll be able to use the AppStore again! Hope this was helpful for you.
