Downloading PDF DOC file in ADF

Hi All,
I am using Jdev 11.1.1.2.0
My requirment is to Displaying the BLOB file like DOC and PDF in ADF UI. User can able to download it. I know there is already few post like this. I have gone through But is there any better way to display way to displaying on The UI.

Problem I have is. How can i show the PDF or Doc file on the UI. ? In the above articles they mentioned about images and displayed They used af:image tag for embed the image.
I am looking for some good ways of displaying the PDF or doc file on the UI which is stored in Database.

Get Plugin Finding Service Error for weeks & weeks now - can't update plug-ins, need download .pdf doc, but says adobe unstable, plug-in needs update. now what

Want to download .pdf doc, but pop-up says it's unstable, need update plug-in. Tried to update, got error message, with "try later". Same for weeks now. Tried check for updates, Firefox is up to date, clicked update plug-ins... it tries, then again... same error message: "Plugin Finding Service Error. Please try again later".
Been so long now -- when becomes a mighty big question. Looked in forum, no joy.
Please, can someone tell me -- what's the go. I'm absolutely no good with computers, but this needs to get fixed. Should I stop using Firefox or what?

Have tried to download via that link but not sure if successful. Very slow dial-up connection is the pits. Waited hours 'n hours, fell asleep in chair even, finally had to give in and go to bed, left it going. Server does time out every 8-12 hours, so not sure how long it went. The download appeared complete -- ie, did not show any note of failure. Not sure if it would -- some things in the past haven't.
Anyway, had success downloading one much older .pdf file, but the link for one I wanted had expired, and I don't know anything else to try. Tried a couple of other links I have, not sure of age of file -- on clicking link, the browser opened, but nothing more happened.
Wondering -- is the download available in separate pieces instead of one big one? Perhaps worth trying again that way?
Please, if you would be forgiving, and persist with me a little further/longer -- would you make your recommendation/s for next step/s please?

Can someone please upload the original downloads stack .doc file that comes default with a clean install?

Can someone please upload the Downloads Stack.doc file to somewhere for me to download? The document detailing how the downloads stack works. I deleted it by accident hoping to free up space but figured out that the dowloads stack now looks horrible without it. So, can someone please upload it? Thanks. The document with the green down arrow that comes with your mac when you clean install the OS. I don't exactly want to clean install Mountain Lion just for the document so... yeah.

Hi Sreelatha. The best example code for your purpose is the Scrolling sample app I referred to previously. The word Scrolling in that post is a link to the download page. I think that code will answer all your questions about how to init a UIImage, then use it to init a UIImageView, and then position the UIImageView frame in a UIScrollView. Two cases are demostrated: 1) Scrolling horizontally through a series of images; 2) Scrolling both H & V over a single image which is several times larger than the window.
You might also be interested in the PageControl sample app in case you want to add a page control to your scroll view.
Reading your last post again... I sure hope we've been discussing images (like jpegs?) in this thread. This isn't about reading and rendering the actual xls, pdf and doc files, is it?? Of course the iPhone handles html beautifully, so for example, an html representation of a doc file would play nicely. But in that case you'd want a UIWebView, not a UIImageView.

Safari 5.1 using QT to download pdf document files

I selected a link in my imac mail that took me to the internet site to view a PDF , but safari 5.1 is using QT to download pdf document files. I can't adjust the size or see pass page one. I don't know what happen to the reader. Can anyone help?

Problems Downloading PDF Doc

I have a issue downloading PDF docs on my ipad air from my bank website. I am working on the website inside the Epson Iprint app and I have tried
separately within the Chrome Browser app.
When I press the doc button to download I get the revolving icon but only for a few seconds. Looking for the doc in the ibooks app I cannot find it nor anywhere else.
I am new to Apple my ipad has 8.1 os. I have previously successfully downloaded PDF docs from emails and websites in the Chrome Browser .
Could it be a bank website issue or is there a more simple explanation?

i have discovered I need to work in Safari Browser with pop ups unblock and then I can go to the webpage PDFs button get the option to open in iBooks. The PDFs doc is then available. Alls well that ends well.

Firefox keeps aksing me what programs that i want to open a doc.file with every time i try to download a doc file.

the program that I use is open office. I chekced the box that says that this will always open a doc file but it keeps asking me about it.

Firefox should be able to remember your preference -- as long as the site is specifically identifying the file as a distinct content type. Some sites may fail to do this and simply indicate it is a binary file that the browser can't handle, in which case Firefox doesn't store a specific preference.
So this could be a problem caused by how the server is identifying the content type. Or it could be a problem with the settings file that stores download preferences. The workaround for that problem is to remove the file and have Firefox rebuild it. If you have changed settings from the default (for example, how to view PDFs) you will have to change those settings again.
If you want to try it:
Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using
Help > Troubleshooting Information > (in the first table) "Show in Finder" button
Leaving that window open, switch back to Firefox and Exit/Quit
Pause while Firefox finishes its cleanup, then rename '''mimeTypes.rdf''' to something like mimeTypes.old
Restart Firefox and see whether its memory improves.

Download Word .doc file saved in MIME Repository to local PC

I need to store a static Word document on the SAP server and download to the user's browser via a BSP application. I have found code in the IT00 BSP Application to download the Word doc in xstring form to the browser, which will work for what I'm doing. What I cannot seem to find, however, is how to retrieve the Word .doc file stored in the MIME repository and then subsequently how to convert this MIME object to an xstring value. Is there a class or function module available to retrieve and convert the MIME object to an xstring form so that it can be returned as a response back to the browser?

Unable to view pdf, doc files in nokia 7210 supern...

Hi.....
Iam using nokia 7210supernova mobile. I cannot open pdf and doc files..It shows "fomat not supported". So I have installed mobilepdf.jar and eZreader. But still the error persists. and whenever i try to open from these applications it shows error as "insufficeint resources to perform the operation" and "object not supported"
What should i do to overcome this error... I have been trying from many days to solve it... Please help me...

Try re-installing those two apps....and if problem persists then contact developers of those two apps and confirm that those two apps support nokia supernova 7210 or not

Download PDF to file on 4.6D

Hello!
I have a program which converts spool outputs to PDFs (CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF and CONVERT_OTFSPOOLJOB_2_PDF) and downloads them to files by using GUI_DOWNLOAD. It works fine on 4.7, but on 4.6D I get incorrect (unreadable) PDF files. The programs are exactly the same on both systems, which are also both non-unicode. My guess is that the critical points are CONVERT* functions, but don't know what to do about it.
Please give me some suggestions.

1013 File Adpter pick .pdf, .doc files and make it available in Worklist

Hi,
I am using 10.1.3 version. I have a file adapter that polss on a directory and picks up any file dropped in the folder can doc, pdf. I have a Human Task that a user looks at a file and then APPROVE or REJECT or if possible make changes to a file too.
Now how do I pick-up a file using File Adapter and make it available in Human Task (Worklist). I did look at DocumentReview Sample but it accepts some URL as a parameter but in my case I want to have a file i.e. pdf, doc etc. How can I handle this. Any help is appreciated.

I can add the converted document to PDF as a attachment to the XDP form in the workspace.
I am strugling now with that envelope (the XDP), cant render it to PDF and than workspace enable it. I will have a look around the web because it will be there. One question is can I control permitions on the attachment? I want just read only permitions.

Reading HTML / PDF / DOC Files

I tried to read an PDF file using FIleInputStreamReader and tried to print the contents. Some grabage value is getting printed. on tried to read the HTML filre..only the source is getting printed by the printer.
How can i overcome this problem

How are you printing this stuff?
If you want to print files of various formats, for each file type, you need a way to read the file and render it's contents like the regular application does (Acrobat Reader, Word, etc) and print that rendered output. You can't just send the file as text and have it print correctly. Whatever you do to print the text file works for text files only. HTML works the way it does cuz it's a text file which the browser interprets the markup in it to make it look nice. But you aren't rendering that HTML, you're just printing the text in the file, which includes the markup. The PDF and DOC files are even more different, they are binary formats.
Whatever you are calling to get the text files to print is not some magic code that's going to interpret and render any file format you give it. That's why there are different programs for viewing PDFs and DOCs and HTML files and the like instead of one magic do-it-all program that can read/write any file type.

Unable to download PDF docs with Safari

I cannot download PDF documents from the internet, using Safari. All I get is a plain black screen, with the following message: "the document "04_712....._12Sep11_A.pdf" could not be exported as "Hydro Bill.pdf". Alternatively, I have absolutely no problem opening PDF documents from files on my computer. I have downloaded the most recent version of Adobe Reader but that made no difference. How can I fix this?

Reader 9.3.2 freezes upon opening downloaded .pdf doc; can't uninstall 9.3.2

Adobe Reader 9.3.2 (Win XP) stops functioning (not responding under Task Manager) when I open a downloaded pdf file. Cannot uninstall 9.3.2 to reinstall. Adobe Reader Repair didn't fix the issue. File is set to open w/ Reader. Help!

Thank you for your response. The error message I got said that there was another program using Adobe Reader or Acrobat and I needed to close it before uninstalling. But there WASN'T another program open. I shut everything down (did not go thru my "processes running" list on my Task Manager, however...hmm, maybe that was the problem, it now occurs to me....)
I haven't tried the link you gave me yet, b/c I think the problem may be that I downloaded the pdf file using Firefox 3.6 & from what I understand, Firefox 3.6 has issues w/ Acrobat/Reader/pdf files. I WAS able - after trying many times - to open the file in my browser window. I may try to download the file again using IE 8, but it's not an important file and so this issue isn't high on my priority list at the moment! But thank you again for your response. If in the near future, I get a chance to tackle this again, I'll be sure to let you know the result.
