Downloading Photos from Cmputer to iPod

I have a 30gb white Apple iPod, using a Dell computer, Windows XP. When I received the iPod I was able to down load music and photos to the iPod with no problems. Recently when I clicked on iTunes I got a unknown error message -200. I reinstalled the software.....I can upload music and photos to the computer. I can also download music to the iPod but I CANNOT download the photos. Can someone please provide me with some assistance as to why the photos will not download?

Open the iPhoto Library package with the Finder
and look for a folder titled "iPod Photo Cache".  Move it to the Desktop, launch iPhoto and try again.

  • Problems downloading photos from iPhoto to iPod 5G classic

Until recently I had no problems downloading my photo library to my iPod (~250 photos). However, the last couple of groups of photos I've gotten I cannot transfer. I get an error message that reads "The iPod cannot be synced. The disk could not be read from or written to." My last 3 rolls do not transfer to the iPod, although all the other photos do as well as all songs, movies, calendars, etc. Everything else is OK just the last 3 photo rolls. 2 of the 3 problem rolls were gathered from emails, but so were others that load fine. The last roll was downloaded from the BART website and will not transfer.
Anybody know what's up with this?

    Thanks again TD
I will check on the formating when I get home, I am pretty sure that I haven't used any no-ascii characters, but will double check.
Before I download iphoto library manager, I just wanted to report an interesting experiment that I tried last night that may point in a different direction:
I keep my iphoto library on a second internal HD, so I thought I would just try making a complete copy of my iphoto library onto my desktop. Once I did this, I started up iPhoto with alt and choose the desktop version of the library and all worked perfectly, my iphoto albums showed instantly in my photo tab in itunes when I selected to sync with iphoto.
My next move was to rename my old library and then copy my desktop version into the folder where the old library is. Once I did this the problem was back again.
I have no reason to believe that it is the second disc that is causing the problem, as that is where I have always kept my itunes and iphoto libraries and they have worked without problem.
(As I am writing this, it dawned upon me that I missed one important test, I should have tried the old library after I had renamed it, but stil in the same place.)
I am now suspecting that the problem may be linked to an external drive that I addded to the system at Christmas. This was a WD My Book which I use for backup, the link being that I use the software that came with it to do autobackups that includes my iphoto library folder. I am wondering if this software does something to the folder.
    Thoughts welcome.

  • Trouble downloading photos from camera to iPod to PowerBook

Four "rolls" of photos I downloaded from my camera to the iPod appear in the iPod "Photos" menu separately from the other eleven rolls, which are found in "Photo Import". Those eleven can be transferred to my PowerBook desktop easily from "DCIM", but the four that appear separately from "Photo Import" under "Photos" do not appear either in "DCIM" or in "Photos" when I open the iPod icon on my desktop, and so they can't be downloaded. Also, photos I had once uploaded from the PowerBook to the iPod cannot be found in the iPod, but they are in "Photos" when I open the iPod on my desktop. Everything must exist somewhere, but I am confounded looking for them.

...could this be a problem with the formatting of the iPod's drive? I don't want to reformat it if it means losing the pictures I can't access through my computer...

  • Downloading photos from Itunes to Ipod Touch

Itunes says I have 311 pics to download to Ipod touch but only 177 pics will download.  Why?  I cleared all pics, then redownloaded, did the same thing.  279 pics in one folder.  Is this too many?  But if I selected all, it was trying to download 1000 pics but I stopped it because I didn't want all those pics on my Ipod Touch.  Thanks in advance for any help.  I can't seem to find the answer to this anywhere.

  • HT1678 How do I synch/download photos from my iPod classic to my computer, which has a Windows operating system?  Thanks.

I am trying to download photos from my iPod to either an external hard drive or my computer, which has a Windows operating system. The iPod should function like an external hard drive, right?  My photo files/computer/hard drive were damaged. Can I put my photos on the iCloud, and then save on external drive?  Not sure how to o this either.  I lost a few years of baby photos. Thanks for any help!

iTunes syncing to iPods (that are not iPod touch) mostly goes one way, from computer to iPod.  For photos, at the time you synced the photos to the iPod, there is a setting that you needed to have enabled in iTunes if you later want to recover them from the iPod.  This setting is on the iPod's Photos tab in iTunes (where you set up photo syncing).  There is a checkbox for Include full-resolution photos.
IF that checkbox was checked, you can Enable disk use on the iPod's Summary tab, and find the full-res photo files in the Photos folder on the iPod.  Otherwise (if setting not checked), when iTunes syncs the photos to the iPod, iTunes converts the images to a very low-resolution version that is optimized to fit the small iPod screen and stores the image data in a single database file (to save storage space).  There may be third-party software that can extract separate photos from that database file, but the resulting photos will look bad blown up to computer screen size.

  • Problems downloading photos from the camera to iPod

Last week I tried to download photos from the camera to my 60 GB iPod.
I had almost near 150 pictures (jpg) but something happened. The iPod (or the iPod Camera Connector) isn't able to transfer more than 60 photos (aprox.).
For bigger amounts, the tranfer speeds up and after finishing, I can't find the photos and I can't transfer photos anymore or listen to music o play videos.
Is there any restriction concerning photo transfer? What could be the problem?
    Thanks.

As a matter of fact. After giving my camera a complete charge, I have had
    no more problems
That is why a card reader is so useful. You do not have to wait for the camera to charge and avoid the kind of errors above.

Hello,I have downloaded photos from my ipod touch following the instructions but it doesn't download videos. Can you help please?

    doesn't download videos
I seen so many of these post for windows users.
Try my little "trick" (must be running iOS 4.3 or better)
Download the app "Download Manager Lite" (FREE) or "Download Manager" Full ($ 1.99 USD)
After downloading, transfer it to iTunes
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
After transferring, Go to your iDevice (on itunes), to the apps page, scroll down, you can add/save videos and/or files.
Click on "Add", find the folder of which your movies are being downloaded. Its much faster than syncing from itunes.
You can do the wi-fi transfer, the best part is that you don't have to be connected to the same wi-fi.
You will get 2 different URLs you need to type on your computer. Type the Web URL not the ftp URL. After that, you should have access to the app, without the need of itunes.
Click on Add, find the folder of where your movies are stored, faster than syncing with iTunes.
    HOPE THIS HELPS.

  • I am having problems downloading photos from my camera to iphoto 11

I am unable to download photos from my sony cybershot DSC-W170 and my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30 to iphoto11. The problem started when the colour wheel started spinning when iphoto opened after I switched on either camera and the programme became unresponsive. Subsequently when ever I then tried to open iphoto the colour wheel span and iphoto didn't respond, force quit the only way out.
After this happened the first time I rebuilt my library from timemachine (not the quickest process with around 9000 images), iphoto then opened okay and I could view libraries again.
I then downloaded the images directly from the camera sd card to my desktop and tried to drag the images into iphoto one at a time this worked but as soon as i tried to import the whole roll, the colour wheel popped up and iphoto became unresponseive again but I could view my libraries at least.
I then read about deleting the library cache which I did and restarted my mac (imac core duo 2ghz, running 10.6.8) I then tried to download from the sony cybershot again and I here am back at the start, with the colour wheel and iphoto not responding, I have just force quit and I can't open iphoto. Help!

What exactly happens when you try to sync?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Does any media now sync to the iPod?

  • On my i tunes page on my laptop, I don't see a tab for Photos in the drop down list in my library, so I can't download photos from my laptop.  What am I doing wrong?

On my drop down list in my library in i Tunes, I don't see a Photo tab.  How do I find that so I can download photos from my hard drive?

No, not on the File menu. Click on the Device that shows up when connected:
    Either:
If you do not use the Sidebar, when the iPod is connected to iTunes, you should see this icon appear to the left of the iTunes Store button:
Click on the ringed icon (but not on the "eject" part of it!).
    Or
If you use the Sidebar, you will see the Device appear, as shown below:
    Click on it.
Once you have clicked on the Device, you should see this (Summary) pane, with the word Summary darkened:
Click on Photos (as ringed above)...
Now you are on the Photos pane (notice Photos is now darkened), where there is a drop-down menu. It's that box that says "My Pictures", where you will find "Choose Folder". That option allows you to choose (as I did) "My Pictures".
Notice in the last screenshot that a message at the very top of the image states that the "iPod Sync is complete". Choosing the folder after the Sync has completed (or passed the "sync photos" section) simply means that it requires another Sync for that change to take effect.
    That's it.
Now, whatever pictures you place in the chosen folder will be added to your iPod at the following Sync. Likewise, any pictures you remove from that folder will be removed from the iPod at the following Sync.
You only need to look on the Photos pane if you wish to change the folder option.
