Downloading Photos from My iPod to my computer

I recently had my computer stolen along with back up discs. The only other place I have my pictures is on my iPod. I am having trouble downloading them back onto my computer.

I'm in a similar tizzy: My hardrive crashed with the original photos now on my iPod (color 60GB); I need to transfer these photos to my 'new' hardrive so I won't lose them.

I have backup some photos from my camera to the iPod. How can I download the same photos from the iPod to the computer now?

    The question is answered.

  • HT1678 How do I synch/download photos from my iPod classic to my computer, which has a Windows operating system?  Thanks.

I am trying to download photos from my iPod to either an external hard drive or my computer, which has a Windows operating system. The iPod should function like an external hard drive, right?  My photo files/computer/hard drive were damaged. Can I put my photos on the iCloud, and then save on external drive?  Not sure how to o this either.  I lost a few years of baby photos. Thanks for any help!

iTunes syncing to iPods (that are not iPod touch) mostly goes one way, from computer to iPod.  For photos, at the time you synced the photos to the iPod, there is a setting that you needed to have enabled in iTunes if you later want to recover them from the iPod.  This setting is on the iPod's Photos tab in iTunes (where you set up photo syncing).  There is a checkbox for Include full-resolution photos.
IF that checkbox was checked, you can Enable disk use on the iPod's Summary tab, and find the full-res photo files in the Photos folder on the iPod.  Otherwise (if setting not checked), when iTunes syncs the photos to the iPod, iTunes converts the images to a very low-resolution version that is optimized to fit the small iPod screen and stores the image data in a single database file (to save storage space).  There may be third-party software that can extract separate photos from that database file, but the resulting photos will look bad blown up to computer screen size.

Hello,I have downloaded photos from my ipod touch following the instructions but it doesn't download videos. Can you help please?

    doesn't download videos
I seen so many of these post for windows users.
Try my little "trick" (must be running iOS 4.3 or better)
Download the app "Download Manager Lite" (FREE) or "Download Manager" Full ($ 1.99 USD)
After downloading, transfer it to iTunes
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
After transferring, Go to your iDevice (on itunes), to the apps page, scroll down, you can add/save videos and/or files.
Click on "Add", find the folder of which your movies are being downloaded. Its much faster than syncing from itunes.
You can do the wi-fi transfer, the best part is that you don't have to be connected to the same wi-fi.
You will get 2 different URLs you need to type on your computer. Type the Web URL not the ftp URL. After that, you should have access to the app, without the need of itunes.
Click on Add, find the folder of where your movies are stored, faster than syncing with iTunes.
    HOPE THIS HELPS.

  • I need to put photos from my iPod to my computer

My daughter's iPod touch has this very large block of "other" taking up more than 2gb of space of her device. I've exhausted all options and now we can't seem to get it to sync to wifi properly anymore. I want to do a complete reset on her iPod. Restore completely to factory settings. Erase it all. HOWEVER, we have some very special pictures on it of family members that are no longer with us, and I need to get them OFF the iPod before I can just delete everything. I can't figure out how. I've synced it. I've tried to search for it. I just cannot find the pictures anywhere on my computer. And I cannot figure out how to even view them. I even ran a back up from the iPod to my computer and I can't even find the file that happens to. And my cloud doesn't show the pictures either.
    help!!!! please?

If they were taken by or saved to the iPod then:
iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
If they were synced to the iPod then you need a third-party computer program like TouchCopy or PhoneView

  • Copying photos from the ipod to the computer

I want to copy pictures from my ipod to my computer. How do I do this?

When you connect your ipod to the computer, look in MY Computer (if you are using a PC), and you'll find your ipod there and can access the photos in the camera roll from there.

  • Can I transfer photos from my ipod to my computer?

My computer recently crashed and i would like to transfer the photos from my ipod back onto my computer. Is this possible?

There are a number of utilities you could have a look at for retrieving photo's, have a look at the pages below for a start. If you do an internet search you can probably find a few more:
    iPodPhotoCopy Windows only
    CopyPodPhoto Windows only
iPod Photo Liberator Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions

I've asked this question previously.  When I plug my iphone in to my computer it doesn't bring up autoplay and doesn't appear in File Manager so I can't manually navigate to it.  iTunes tells me it's timed out trying to connect to my iphone.  I THINK it may be to do with the fact my iphone is connected to my work email and they impose restrictions on my security settings?  I've tried the suggestion below but it didn't help so if anyone can suggest anything else I'd be very grateful:
'iOS: Import personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
If auto play doesn't work on your computer then either fix it, or just manually navigate out to your iphone on the hard drive.
If you don't know how to do the above steps use google.'
So why don't you ask your IT person at your work place if that is the issue or not.
I want to upload photos from my iphone to my computer but when I plug it in the computer opens iTunes but NOT the dialogue box to transfer photos.  I THINK it may have something to do with security settings imposed by my work email server?

  • I lost my ipod , how do i delete my twitter , facebook etc and photos from my ipod on the computer and my password is easy. and i didnt download the find my iPhone app. PleasePLEASE Help God Bless

I Lost my iPod. touch , and i have information on there how do i delete my twiiter , facebook and etc. amd photos from it through the computer and my password is easy please PLEASE HELP . God Bless. i just dont want my life out there .

If you did not set up your Touch for Find My iPhone prior to it being lost there is no way to remotely remove any of the information. In any case they would have to connect it to the internet to do so. Change all your passwords and don't worry about it.

  • Can't Download photos from my ipod

I managed to get my photos downloaded directly from my camera to my iPod, but now I can't seem to get the photos off the iPod and onto my computer!

    Here this should help:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301059
    Short Version:
Tip: Photos are stored in a DCIM (digital camera images) folder on iPod. You can also transfer images to your computer by opening this folder and dragging the image files to the desktop. To do this, your iPod must be enabled for use as a hard disk.
