Downloading Photos Option Disable

Hi,
Is it possible to create a photo gallery using IWEB without the download option? Using the basic black gallery template, I can't figure out a way to get rid of that option.
Thanks!

  • Settings- "Allow visitors to download photos" my butt!

I am so confused why in the settings of this new version of iPhoto it allows us to check or uncheck the "Allow visitors to download photos" option but when I publish my Web Gallery to my .mac account, any one who is able to view the album can easily just grab the image and drag it to the desktop.
I work in a photography studio and we are trying to be able to post senior sessions to our .mac account website but won't be able to do this if web-savvy seniors can just drag the image onto the desktop and print off the image for FREE!?!?
Please help if you know how I can "lock" so-to-speak the image to keep them from dragging it to their desktop...

What's the 'easy way' of grabbing all the images if you've not ticked the box to allow visitor downloads?
AlisonM said she felt that these galleries are really 'just for fun' - I think that's their prime aim.
If you look at the way Apple seems to be going with iLife 08 (iMovie being dumbed down being the prime example), it really does seem to be promoting 'Sharing' be it of photos/movie clips/blogs or whatever.
If you want a good 'sharing' user experience then that has to be simple and accessible or the user's audience won't bother to view their web pages/galleries. The 'sharing' model is not really conducive to promoting your business wares when that happens to be images. As I said, for straightforward web page galleries, there are a multitude of workarounds to grab images. There may well be professional internet image viewing technologies out there which do all possible to prevent image captures but I don't think that we can expect that from a consumer 'sharing' gallery model.
I strongly suspect that these Galleries are in an early stage of development however and how they end up may well be determined by user feedback. So if you feel strongly send feedback direct to Apple.
It is already apparent to me that some content in the galleries is rendered when viewing and not at time of publishing - when you initially publish only 2 images go to your iDisk per photo, one is large.jpg (the 3054 size image) the other web.jpg (the one displayed and not downloaded - it is sometimes scaled and reported larger than 800 wide, but the image you can drag to save is 800x600 at most). Other things like reflections and smaller images are generated when you view the gallery. The actual web page HTML and presumably scripts/CSS etc is not in your iDisk, and is probably assembled dynamically when viewing. The beauty of this is that Apple could and probably will add functionality to the Web Galleries over time which may not require you to republish anything. Any new view options/locks could be provided by an iPhoto update.
Undoubtedly, many would like to re-arrange the order of things in the galleries, or perhaps the ability to lock down the view options to a Flash based Carousel view might deter casual image grabbers. My wish would be to have multiple galleries for different things/hobbies.
So if you feel there's something you would like send feedback direct to Apple, they might listen they might not.

  • I downloaded photos from a camera and cannot delete the ones I want as it displays only move and slideshow options but no trashcan or delete options

I downloaded photos from digital camera and now I want to delete some but when I hit the photos icon it only brings up pics with the only options being move or slideshow no trashcan or delete options available

You should be able to delete photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc directly on the iPad - either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view.
Photos that were synced from your computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from and then re-syncing

  • Photo Downloader 6.0 - Disable / Selective Disable

Hi - I have two questions about Photo Downloader. The first question is for version 4.0 (which my mom has). How do you set it up so that the downloader *won't* automatically pop up when you plug in a camera? My second question is about version 6.0 (which I have). Mine pops up when I plug in my camera (which I do want) but it also pops up when I plug in my mp3 player (which I *don't* want). How to I get it to not show up when I plug in the mp3 player? Thanks.

For your mom, first try just right clicking the downloader icon in the system tray and choosing Disable. If that doesn't do it, go to Control Panel (classic view)>Administrative Tools>Services and Find Adobe Active File Monitor and disable it.
Unfortunately, there's no way to be selective with the downloader. You might want to turn it off in the system tray and just turn it on when you want to download photos.

  • Why i cannot see previous and next image of downloaded photos in my notebook

When I see my downloaded photos, I cannot see the previous or next image of photos..
The menu bar of previous and next button remains disabled.. Could you please let me know possible solution?

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to rebuild the thumbnails. It can take 3 or 4 goes for this to work

  • HT1349 The photo option in ICloud on my computer will not activate (it is grayed out as an option). Any assistance in getting my photos from my incloud on my iphone and ipad to my computer

The photo option in ICloud on my computer will not activate (it is grayed out) after I load the Icloud download. My Ipad and iphone are sharing my photo  stream photos but cannot get to my computer. I read all the instructions and reloaded Cloud 2 x but again will not activate the photo sharing piece.

I don't have a Recently Added playlist.  However, I discovered that the file I had named Eating Healthy was given the name You Can Enjoy Eating Healthy when it copied to iTunes.  I'm guessing iTunes pulled the full name of the piece from the internet.  Upshot--the mp3 did transfer to iTunes on all 3 tries, but I was looking in my alphabetized list under E, not Y, so I didn't see it there.  Thanks for your help.

  • Problem downloading photos from iPhone to iPhoto on MacBook

I can't download photos from my iPhone 5 to iPhoto anymore. It comes up with an error message that says 'The following file could not be imported. (The file is in an unrecognized format.)' My software is up to date. The photos were taken on my iPhone, however there are also some photos that I have saved from other people who sent them as a text message. How can I save my photos please without loosing them? I have tried to save one image only, not all of them, and nothing work. Suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
    Post back with the result.

  • Is there a way to upload/download photos anonymously?

Is there a way to anonymously upload/download photos to the web without any sort of identification?
For example, if I'm using something like TOR to browse, and I find an icon on a site or Google Images that I want to use as my avatar for a social networking site, can I "Save As" from my TOR browser and download that image anonymously to my computer's desktop? Or does my information leak when I save to my computer?
...and then, in turn and perhaps more importantly, how do I upload that photo as my social network photo/avatar without any sort of identifying source tag or whatever from my computer?
When I attempt to upload a photo to the site, it keeps showing something like /Users/[iMacUserName]/Desktop
Is there any way to do this anonymously?
Would having something like a VPN be more useful than TOR in this situation?
I'm new to all this, so I'd really appreciate any information possible. If it makes more sense to send an IM or private email, please feel free to contact me that way as well.
Any recommendations for a great VPN to use with mac would be great too.
Thanks so much in advance for your time.

The image isn't anything dirty, nor is it necessarily copyrighted... I mean, it's a photo still from a movie I like that I wanted to use as my avatar photo. So I suppose technically it's copyrighted, but I'm not trying to pass it off as really being me, or mine. I see people using that kind of thing for avs all the time.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm not worried about the image I'm using, I'm worried about other users on the site being able to somehow find out that the image was uploaded from my computer (IP address, location, etc)
Like, could the admins at a social networking site see that the image was uploaded from my computer?
When I prompt the "upload" it only gives me the option to directly upload it from my computer, and as I said in my OP, it comes up with my iMac computer ID or whatever as the source of the file. (In the upload bar). Once I upload it, I think this information disappears, as I've tried to inspect other users avatars and it says owner info is private... but can the admins see WHERE the photo was uploaded from?
Does something like TOR block this? Or do I need something else? I tried to do some research on it and found another user asking a similar question and someone responded saying they needed to tunnel it or something?
Again, I'm not asking this b/c I'm trying to upload some inapropriate photo, but because this site is very strict about multiple accounts, and I have another account there that I'm not ready to delete yet. I just want to have a second, 100% anonymous account. (and feel I should also put it out there that it's not to do anything illegal or harmful to anyone either) just for me.
Thanks again for any more answers on this.

  • I can't download photos from my canon 350d to my apple mac - even using i-photo (what's image capture). The card doesn't fit in the computer and I don't ave a card reader. Is there a simple solution?

Can anyone help? I'm trying to get the pictures off my canon 350d onto my i-mac (I've tried through i-photo).

Option 1: Download Canon's software. Attach the camera to the computer (USB A to mini B) and the software will ask where to download your photos.
Option 2: Buy a CF card reader.  I recently purchased a PIXELFLASH card reader for $16US.

  • In iOS8 not all my photos automatically downloading (Photo Streaming) to my PC

Only some of my Photos are downloading (Photo Streaming) from my iPhone6 to my PC?

You have a couple of options to get them in your photo stream:
    Open the photos one at a time and take a screenshot.  This will add a new low resolution copy of the photo to the camera roll, which will then upload to your photo stream;
    Email the photos a few at a time to yourself, then save the attached photos to your camera roll.  This will add a copy of the photo at full resolution to your camera roll and upload to photo stream;
Use an app like PhotoSync, which will allow you to wirelessly transfer copies of all your old photos to your computer all at once.  Then delete these photos from your camera roll and use PhotoSync to transfer them back from your computer to your camera roll.  These will be the original resolution and will upload to your photo stream.  (You need an app like this because iTunes will not transfer photos back to your camera roll, where they must be in order to add to your photo stream.)
Or, you can add them to a shared stream and invite yourself as a subscriber (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmc0cd7e99).  The shared stream will appear on your iPad and you can either leave things this way, or save them to the camera roll on your iPad and delete the shared stream.  They won't be in your photo stream but they will at least be on your iPad.

  • HT4101 I have a NIKON COOLPIX P500 but am unable to download photos through the IPad camera connection kit. I have tried to use the Sandisk card also - no result. Any suggestions? The Ipad does not "see" the card or camera?

I have a Nikon Coolpix P500 but am unable to download photos from it to my iPad2 via the iPad Camera Connection kit. The iPad does not see either the Sandisk 8GB card or the Nikon camera. I have turned the camera on, but it seems that the camera just want to recharge its battery through the iPad as the iPad states that the devices draws too much power?? Anybodu solved this problem yet? Advise please?

One thing to check is the format that the camera is saving pics to the card in. Many are selectable and, in most cases, if PTP is one of the options then you need to have that one selected for the files to be visible to iOS and the CCK (connection kit).
Another thing which sometimes comes up, especially with older cameras and therefore probably not with yours, is the filenaming conventions used by the camera. iOS is quite strict about what it expects to see and if files are being stored with unsupported name formats then they simply won't be seen at all.

  • PSE 7 not auto downloading photos

I can't get the photo downloader to start automatically under Vista with PSE 7. When I go to autoplay options, the downloader is not one of those offered and I can't see how to add it.
The downloader works if I start it from within the organizers, but under Autoplay it won't let me choose it as one of the options, only Nero, Windows downloader and windows viewer.

Thanks for the confirmation about this incompatibility issue in Vista 64. It is a nuisance to have to manually download photos after getting spoiled by PSE's (32 bit) automated downloader. I did download the trial version of LightRoom (64 bit), and it's downloader is recognized in Vista 64. So it's just a 32 bit issue with PSE.
Otherwise, PSE 7 is fast and stable on Vista 64. Let's hope that Adobe sees the value in moving into the 64 bit age with all of their current software products, including PSE 7.

  • How can i download photos from mac to other hard wear device, how can i download photos from mac to other hard wear device

how can i download photos from mac to other hard wear device

    Depends on the actual device.
If it's an iOS device you can sync via iTunes.
Other devices: Export from iPhoto to the FInder and send them from there.
    This User Tip
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4921
has details of the options in the Export dialogue.

  • HT6154 Issues downloading photos with version 7.1

since i updated to 7.1 on my iphone 5 I can't download photos anymore.  when i hit trust after connecting it appears to disconnect the phone instead of making photos available for download.

launch iPhoto wile holding down the option key and select the original library - when you create a new library of course it is empty
And you seriously need to backup your iPhoto library and purchase and install iPhoto '11 version 9.5.x from the App store and download and run the iPhoto library upgraded \then run the new iPhoto - 7.1.5 is not fully compatible with Mavericks
    LN
PS you also need to update your profile - it states that you have OS X 10.6.8
