Downloading photos to iPad library from gmail

I am using iPad 2nd gen. I am using the Gmail app for my email. I want to copy photos from emails received on Gmail to my photo library. How do I do that? When I click and hold on a picture I get a 'Copy' option. But there doesn't seem to be any way to 'Save' or 'Share' pictures.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).
No data will be lost.

I have about 200 pics that I downloaded onto my iPad 2 from a folder on my computer that crashed recently. How do I update and back up my iPad without losing those pics? Pics of my 4 beautiful kids... do not want to lose these!

What would you have done if you didn't have an iPad?
Photos on your computer should be included with your computer's backup along with all other important data. The iPad is not designed to intended to be a backup storage device.
The transfer of photos from a computer to an iOS device via the iTunes sync process is a one way transfer only - from the computer to the device. Photos are optimized for viewing on the device the photos are being transferred to - the original resolution of the photos is changed, which is why transferring these photos in the opposite direction is not supported.
There are some 3rd party paid utilities that support transferring these photos in the opposite direction.

  • Cannot download photos to my pc from photo stream

I am new to Apple.  I have an iphone and ipad.  My pc has windows 8.1.  Trying to download photos to my pc from icloud.  Opened up the Icloud control panel, made sure that photos was checked, went in options to make sure that both automatically options were checked, clicked apply.  When I go into iCloud storage in my file manager and double click on it, I see a box with the message iCloud photos is not enabled, open Icloud control center.  When I click on that I go back to the same control panel and all the things that I checked previously are still checked.  How can I get my photos to my computer?  I'm obviously missing something.

additional information to my post above.  This morning I went in to the Icloud control center and found that it will not hold the checked box for photos.  I had done all of the above last night.  Today I went in and it was unchecked.  Re-checked and applied.  Don't know why it is not holding.

Okay, you are using Windows 7. What version of iTunes do you have. Please don't tell me the most current one, go into Help then About iTunes and read what it says.

  • Problem importing photos to iPhoto Library from flash drive

When I try to import photos from flash drive into iPhoto library, they seem to import just fine. BUT if I close iPhoto and then return later, the photos I supposedly imported from the flash drive are not in the Library, and a screen prompt tells me the "source is not available". Photos import into Library from digital camera just fine. Why are the photos from my flash drive not staying in the Library? Kinda defeats the purpose of a Library if images won't stay in it. Please help!

Are you running a Managed or a Referenced Library?
A Managed Library, is the default setting, and iPhoto copies files into the iPhoto Library when Importing. The files are then stored in the Library package
A Referenced Library is when iPhoto is NOT copying the files into the iPhoto Library when importing because you made a change at iPhoto -> Preferences -> Advanced. (You unchecked the option to copy files into the Library on import) The files are then stored where ever you put them and not in the Library package. In this scenario you are responsible for the File Management.

Does this involve iPhoto in some way? If so, try using the Force Quit command. It's under the Apple Menu.

  • If i install itunes on a new computer will i have access to download my itunes music library from icloud?

If i install itunes to a new computer will i have access to download my itunes music library from icloud?

It depends on what country you're in, whether or not you can authorize that computer, and whether or not the songs are still available in the iTunes Store. Any copies in the iCloud shouldn't be considered to be a substitute for a backup.

  • Why do downloaded photos to Mac IPhoto from IPad and IPhone omit some photos?

Photos sent to I-Mac I-Photo from I-Phone and I-Pad (via the Cloud) don't all come through.  A number of them don't make transition.
Also, when downloading from the cloud, the photos arrive in I-Photo as though sent at different times.  Clicking on PHOTOS in the source column will show most (but not all) of the downloaded photos with the same date and time but broken up into different lists.  It is though the cloud download hesitates a few moments, and when transmission resumes, I-Photo starts a new Photos list.

Trouble With Syncing Mac Photo Stream to iPhone

  • Can I download photos onto my device from my cloud?

I had saved photos to my iCloud from my old iPad, and I would like to have these on my new device. How can I get them off my cloud onto my device?

    Hey Chefkayleighj,
For most ways that people use iCloud for photos, it should be a matter of logging into iCloud on your new iOS device to have them sync over. This can have varying results depending on how you uploaded them to iCloud. But to put it simply if you can see them in a My Photo Stream you can save them to your Camera Roll or if you are using iCloud Photo Library your photos will show up and download without you having to do anything besides sign in to iCloud. Take a look at the articles below for more information.

  • I have an iPad 2 and would like to know how to download photos on iPad to an external memory card for printing purposes

I have an iPad 2 and have quite a lot of photos stored on the device. I would like to be able to download them onto an SD Card or a memory stick which would then allow me to go to a print shop and print out some hard copy prints of the photos I require.
I have seen some devices on the interent such as an iPad comera connector but this just seem to allow photos to be uploaded from a camera or an SD card to the iPad and not the reverse which I am trying to do.
I realise I can print them myself via AirPrint, but I would like more professional copies for a photo album I am compiling.
I am sure this should be quite a simple exercise but would like some advice on how to do this from the community.
    Hoping you can help.
    Regards

open app and sign in or open settings and sign in.   only works between apple devises with ios 5 or newer or the latest version of snow leopard.  advantages over skype is much more reliable.

  • Cannot see downloaded photos in iPhoto library

I downloaded photos from my new camera into iPhoto. They are in the Library (can see them in package contents) but they do not appear in the library itself. How do I resolve this? Also the same situation with some downloads from earlier this year, with a different camera. (In was not able to use the migration manager for my new iMac as the HD died around the same time, so I brought photos in from a backup copy) Help would be appreciated!

    douglas:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Do you see any indication of the photos in iPhoto, i.e. a thumbnail or blank thumbnail, etc.? Do you see a folder in the library package with Import in the folder name?
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Download photos to ipad

I'm having trouble downloading photos from my PC to my ipad using itunes.
At the top of the screen I do not see a "photos" tab to click on to start the process.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Melvillehondaman-
Run iTunes with your iPad connected to the computer.  Select the iPad on the left side under DEVICES.  Then click on Photos on the right side at the top of the window.  There is a box to check to Sync Photos from, and a place to specify where they are located.
When this is set up, your photos should sync with the iPad.
