Downloading Podcasts (error -39)

Hi all
I've just recently installed iTunes onto a windows Vista Home Premium laptop, but I've recently been getting error -39 when I try to download my free podcasts.
Any ideas?
Craig

I had the same issue. I went into the Music/Download folder, deleted all the temp files there. Tried again and a few would download but i would keep getting the same error on allot of them. Deleted the temp files again and this time checked off the "Allow Simultaneous Downloads" button. Now it's been working fine for more than 2 weeks now and have not seen the error message again.

I keep getting an "unable to download podcast error"...  It has hung in the downloads for iStore for months.  When I tap to retry, same error.. It is only 1 podcast.  I don't know how to remove it from my downloads...

    Hi neocec!
I have a couple of suggestions for you that will help you troubleshoot this issue. First, you should try to reset the iOS device by following these instructions:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

If you are still experiencing issues after attempting that troubleshooting step, you will want to restore your iOS device according to these instructions:

  • Since I updated to ios 5.1.1 I'm getting " Unable to download podcast" error? Is there any fix for this?

How can I fix unable to download podcast error, even if I retry it gives me the same message with all the podcasts I have in my iPhone. How can I fix this?

Are you seeing the same message with Apple's Podcasts app? More info about the Podcasts app here -> About the Podcasts app for iOS
Is this happening with all podcasts? Maybe the server that hosts that podcast is down or it's having problems, try testing with one of the other top rated podcasts.

  • "Unable to Download Podcast" error after upgrade to iOS7 - iPhone 4S

    Hey all,
Since upgrading to iOS7 on my iPhone 4S, the Podcasts app is no longer able to download new Podcasts directly from the app. I keep getting the error "Unable to Download Podcast" with the option to Retry, which always fails. This happens on both 3G and WiFi This error applies to any of my Podcast subscriptions. It was working fine on iOS 6.1.3. I have tried deleting it and re-installing it. I've toggled the Podcast app Settings. I have an iPad 3 WiFi and I haven't had the issue.
Anyone else experiencing this? Anyone know how to fix it?
    Thanks,
    John

  • Downloading podcast error message

I am unable to download any free podcasts. I subscribe successfully, but when I click "Get" a grey exclamation point appears immediately. The error message is "There was a problem downloading "the podcast" . The required folder cannot be found. Please check that the URL is correct and the connection to the network is active and try again."
I get this message everytime I attempt to download something on ITunes. I have disabled the firewall and pop up blockers. Nothing changes -- same error message. I use Mozilla Firefox as a browser.
    Any suggestions?

My podcast downloading problem has gotten worse -- A week ago, I manages to get two downloads out of 15, but now I get NONE. I've been trying to get help through Apple Support, and this is what I got back (none of which works for me, unfortunately):
    +Dear Joan,+
+I understand that some podcasts are not downloading to one of your computers. I am not aware of any issues with podcasts and the latest version of iTunes.+
+If a podcast doesn't download when you click the Subscribe or Get Episode button in the iTunes Store, the server that hosts that podcast may be down or busy. Try waiting a few hours before updating the podcast.+
+To update your podcast subscriptions, follow these steps:+
+1) Make sure you're using the latest version of iTunes. It can be downloaded free of charge from the Apple website:+
    +http://www.apple.com/itunes/download+
    +2) Open iTunes.+
+3) Click Podcasts on the left.+
+4) Click the Refresh button in the lower-right corner to update all of your subscriptions.+
+If this action doesn't resolve your situation, try deleting the podcast and subscribing to it again.+
    +1) Open iTunes.+
+2) Click Podcasts on the left.+
+3) Click once on the podcast that won't play.+
+4) Press your keyboard's Delete key to delete the podcast.+
+5) Click iTunes Store on the left side of iTunes.+
+6) Find the podcast you want to subscribe to.+
    +7) Click the Subscribe button.+
+If you still can't play the podcast after you follow these steps, the podcast will need to be reviewed. To submit a request to have this podcast reviewed by Apple, follow these steps:+
+1) On the iTunes Store, navigate to the podcast you're experiencing the issue with.+
+2) Click the Report a Concern link in the upper-righter corner of the podcast's page.+
+3) From the drop-down menu, select "Difficulty playing episode".+
+4) Enter your email address and any additional comments you have.+
    +5) Click Submit.+
+Feedback is reviewed carefully and Apple will make sure the right steps are taken.+
+I hope that this email has been helpful. If you have any further questions or difficulties, just reply to this email and I'll be happy to help.+

  • Error message when downloading podcasts (error-61) what does it mean?

I have been subscribed to several podcasts that I found on itunes. Some days they download perfectly, and some days I get the error message: "error-61". How do I find out what this error means and fix the problem?

This forum is for questions from those managing sites on iTunes U, Apple's service for colleges and universities to post educational material in the iTunes Store. You'll be most likely to get help with this issue if you ask in the general iTunes forums.

  • TS2313 error message downloading podcasts in itunes

Whenever I try to download podcast episodes from iTunes I get an error message that reads: "There was a problem downloading <podcast>.  The file directory is corrupted or unreadable."  I don't understand this, because it happens with all of my podcasts.  It says check the URL connection, but the internet is fine and iTunes is working just fine.  I have previously downloaded these podcasts before without problems.  I unsubscribed and deleted all of the podcasts' content and then resubscribed, but it did not help.  What do I do?

I am marking this as answered as no-one seems to be interested. I guess I just have to be careful to run iTunes at least once a week to get all the episodes on my podcast list.

  • While downloading podcasts to my library, I am getting the message, "the iTunes Library file cannot be saves. An unknown error occured (-54)." Any idea of what is going on?

    Thanks.

The problem went away on its own. Not sure what was the problem but perhaps somehow the system was out sync internally due installing Lion 10.7.3/Snow Leopard 10.6.8/10.7/10.7.3 with iTunes 6 installing after the 10.7.3 and then needing to be installed again after the second 10.7.3 install from the updater model.
I kept accepting the error message and checking iTunes music file. No podcast downloads were actually rejected.

Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
This sounds like a permission issue most likely with the iTunes Media folder.  Here is an article that will help you troubleshoot this issue.

  • Error 9006 downloading podcasts

After updating to 11.0.2 I get the error 9006 when trying to download podcasts. The files are only 80MB and have never had problems getting these files before. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    jodmcc1

Perhaps a little terse... Clicking through the link, and then the link to the 9006 error brings up this:
    Check your security software
Related errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006. Sometimes security software can prevent your device from communicating with either the Apple update server or with your device.
Check your security software and settings to make sure that they aren't preventing a connection to the Apple servers.
Although in the context of podcasts it is the connection to the server hosting the podcast that matters.
Do you know which podcast is triggering this error?

I am trying to download podcasts, and I am getting an error message.  I have tried unsubscribing and resubscribing, deleting and redownloading the podcast, and shutting off and turning on my computer an iphone.  I have also tried refreshing the podcast.  I have also tried closing itunes and reopening it.  What gives?  I have an iphone 5s and my MacBookPro and the software is updated on both.  What gives?

This password prompt is presented by your operating system, and is intended to keep you from accidentally installing software.
If this is your personal machine and you don't need a password to log into the computer when it first starts up, you can probably leave the password blank and click OK to get past this prompt.  If this is your personal machine and your normal password isn't working, check to make sure that CAPS LOCK is off, and type the password carefully.
If this is your work machine and it's asking for an Administrator password, well, you'll need to have a conversation with your friendly IT person.
If you're still stumped, you may need to reset the password on your Mac:
